Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

Lin Feng was quite disappointed after all that effort yielded no results. Suddenly, he remembered the crafty brother who was skilled at handiwork.

Perhaps he knew how to make salt?

Figuring it was worth a try, Lin Feng messaged him.

Lin Feng: [Do you know how to make salt?]

Ye Hua, who was promoting his bows and arrows in the chatroom, saw Lin Feng’s message and quickly clicked in.

Make salt?

He did know how, but the limited conditions here made it difficult!

Oh well, he’d just have to figure something out.

Thinking this, Ye Hua decisively replied to Lin Feng.

Ye Hua: [Sir, I have some basic knowledge and can try my best. Do you have the raw materials there?]

Lin Feng never expected he’d actually know how. This was great news! As for materials, luckily he hadn’t used up all the seawater due to fear of failure.

He still had two bottles left.

Lin Feng: [I’ve put the seawater up on the trading platform. Just exchange it for anything.]

Ye Hua: [OK sir, please give me a few days.]

Lin Feng: [Sounds good.]

Lin Feng: [Right, you probably don’t have anything for warmth do you?]

Ye Hua: [No sir, but I do have a jacket that should help somewhat.]

Lin Feng: [Let me give you a blanket too. If you freeze to death, who will make my salt?]

Ye Hua: [Thank you sir!]

With the salt issue looking hopeful, Lin Feng’s mood improved considerably. This Ye Hua was quite capable, knowing so many skills. The blanket he gave was from the wedding bed he took from the Ghost Wedding floor.

Lin Feng had a hunch this kid would make something of himself in the future. Befriending him probably wasn’t a bad idea.

After handling everything, Lin Feng rummaged through his leather backpack.

He eventually took out the berry bushes from the prehistoric world.

Lately he’d been a bit constipated, likely due to nutritional imbalances.

He wondered if these purple berries tasted any good.

Plucking one, Lin Feng popped it into his mouth.

“Mm!”

Pure sweetness, without any other flavor. Tasty!

“Roar!”

“You want some too? But aren’t you a carnivore?”

Seeing the little Tyrannosaurus rex eagerly approaching, Lin Feng helplessly plucked some berries and threw them over.

He had assumed the T-rex was just curious, and didn’t actually want to eat them.

Unexpectedly, after eating them, the T-rex asked Lin Feng for more!

“Oh, could you actually be an omnivore??”

Lin Feng plucked another handful of berries and placed them before the T-rex. It happily ate them up.

After eating some berries and a can of meat, Lin Feng went to rest. He barely slept last night due to the temperature plunging. Now, as soon as he lay down, Lin Feng fell asleep.

Thanks to the electric stove, the elevator’s temperature remained just above freezing. The others still faced freezing or illness risks at night.

“Ding, host is about to enter the Scrap Metal floor. It contains large quantities of scrap iron, copper, aluminum and other metals. No dangers detected.”

Awakened by the system, Lin Feng clearly hadn’t slept enough. He shook his head and got up to get dressed and prepare.

He also tidied up his backpack. With the storage area, Lin Feng’s backpack was much more spacious now. One grid for dino meat, one for goat, leaving three empty grids to fill. Enough to fit a lot of things.

After getting ready, Lin Feng quietly waited for the floor change.

The chat room was very lively right now, with most praying for a good floor. Unlike Lin Feng, they couldn’t get advance intel on the floors. So their preparations weren’t always comprehensive.

Or they didn’t know the dangers in a floor until discovering them there, by which time it was too late to retreat to the elevator.

[I didn’t sleep all night from the cold. I just hope the next floor is somewhere warm, and gives me something for warmth.]

[Why doesn’t someone try making a chimney directly to the vents? As long as it’s sealed well, make a stove or fireplace below and you can stay warm no problem.]

[Hey man, don’t just talk about it, do it! If you can make one, I will definitely buy!]

[Yeah, with billions of us, why hasn’t some pro made a fireplace yet?]

[The conditions are too poor. No bricks, or materials for chimney pipes.]

[I think we need to make better use of the floor info. Like the forest floor for instance. Has anyone been? The mud there is great building material, right?]

[Damn, good point! I just remembered a construction site where bricks and cement bags were stacked in the corner. I only thought about getting metals and wood then, completely overlooking useful stuff.]

[The above person is so wise! I want to take useful things too but the elevator won’t fit them!]

[So the most important thing is upgrading the elevator. Only with more space can we survive better.]

Looking at the chat, Lin Feng realized he indeed hadn’t paid much attention to non-upgrade materials before.

Of course, the main limitation was elevator space. Now with storage, he’d freed up a large area and should take note of other useful resources going forward.

Just then, two others emerged from elevators on the other side of the scrap mountains.

“Hey beautiful! This place looks safe, so let’s just stay out of each other’s way, shall we?”

“But sir, I can’t move these things. Could you please help me?”

Seeing the coquettish woman before him, the man sneered inwardly. Looks like she wasn’t a good woman either, so why keep up pretenses?

“Heh, service me nicely and I’ll help you.”

The two were soon entangled passionately by the elevator doors.

The man enjoying himself suddenly felt a sharp pain below. In the next moment, he realized his most precious part had been bitten off!

The intense agony from his groin made the man unable to even stand, let alone fight back. He watched helplessly as the woman pulled out a dagger and ruthlessly stabbed down.
