Chapter 5: “work for me”
Days turned to weeks and classes began for every first year student. Ella's roommate hadn't arrived, how silly.
It was another day in class, Ella was sitting quietly when the teacher walked in. Mrs. Black, grumpy lady.
Students were not allowed to move out nor in as long as she was in the class.
Mrs. Black was busily writing on the board when a student walked in. Ella had no intention to pay attention to this student but something caught her attention.
Short hair, anime hoddie, black shorts, sneakers and anime backpack.
Ella was sure she hadn't seen this particular student before and hell, her roommate was still missing.
Yeah, this student was a girl, a beautiful one at that.
Butterflies, weird smile....
Ella could swear she felt an instant connection, a deep attraction, also a sensation of butterflies in her stomach.
What was worse was the smile on her face, she couldn't get rid of it.
The silly student quietly turned her back to the class, as if she was going out, then she walked in, backwards.
Every student had stopped whatever they were doing and were all focused on the girl.
Ella was confused, what was she doing?
The girl continued to walk in until Mrs. Black noticed the commotion and turned around.
"Where do you think you're going?" She asked the girl who smiled awkwardly
"I'm thirsty" was all the girl said smiling. Damn, she had dimples.
"Head back to your seat" Mrs. Black ordered angrily, mood swings.
Mrs. Black really thought she wanted to sneak out of the class...lol
The girl politely bowed and found a seat for herself.
That was... damn, wasn't she too cool, Ella chuckled. Interesting.....
...
After the lesson, Ella realised the girl had disappeared. Without thinking twice, she gathered her stuff and ran towards her dorm.
Hell! she was crazy. Was she that eager to meet this roommate.
Disappointment was an understatement, Ella felt like dying when she saw the room empty.
Lightheaded, she walked towards her roommate's wardrobe and opened it, searching for nothing in particular.
"Are you seriously going through my stuff?" She heard a voice from behind her, and yeah! she stiffened.
Slowly turning around awkwardly, Ella met a pair of dark brown eyes staring at her.
"Damn, you're really cute" Ella could swear she wanted to say that in her head.
The girl smiled, her hands inside her short pockets...
"Damn, your dimples are killing me" this time, Ella's hands flew to her mouth. She was supposed to say that in her head. Wasn't her brain working anymore?
The girl chuckled "silly thing" she muttered
"I'm Blue" she said making Ella raise her brows confused.
"My name, it's Blue, Blue Daves" she said with a smile.
If she said it didn't take awhile to understand what the girl said, Ella was lying.
"Blue, like red, yellow, blue?" Ella asked, scratching her silly head.
"Yup, black, grey, blue" the girl laughed.
She also didn't know why her parents decided to name her Blue.
"I'm Ella" Ella couldn't stop the crazy, wide smile that appeared on her face. What in God's name was wrong with her?
Blue only nodded, then she grabbed her backpack which had been on the table and was about to leave.
"You're leaving?" Ella asked
"Yup, part time jobs" Blue answered curtly
Why was she working?
"How much are you paid?" Ella asked unaware why.
Blue didn't mind, instead she shrugged before saying "enough for my needs"
Ella really didn't like this "so you'll not be staying here?" She asked
"Yeah" Blue answered ready to walk out the door.
"Work for me, I'll pay you" Ella didn't know where this audacity was coming from.
Blue turned around with raised brows "and why should I work for you?" She asked
Ella cleared her throat "we need each other. You need me and I need you"
Blue gave her a confused look "meaning?" She asked impatiently
"I'm scared of the dark and you need money. All you have to do is buy me breakfast, lunch and dinner, stay with me and I'll pay you. Name your price" Ella blurted out the rubbish she had in mind.
"Haven't you been staying alone" Blue asked calmly
"It's very hard to fall asleep, I'm really scared" Ella lied smoothly
Blue gave the weirdo a long stare, she wasn't so in need of morning to be a big lady's nanny. She wouldn't even be in need of money if not for her stubbornness.
"I'm not interested missy" Blue chuckled, ready to leave.
Ella could feel her heart beating really fast. It felt like if she let the cute human in front of her leave, she wouldn't be able to live. She was scared of loosing her.
Scared of loosing her?
Why?
"What do you want, a bike, a car, a house? I'll get it for you" Ella blurted with determination
Blue couldn't help but turn to properly examine her roommate.
"Are you that scared?" She asked
"Yes, I get weird nightmares all the time" Ella lied.
She had never lied like this before….
"Get me a cool sports bike and I'll think about it" Blue said, finally walking out the door
Ella followed her "you promise?" She asked
"I promise" Blue said, walking through the large hallway
"It's a deal" Ella smiled
Blue didn't reply…
Ella Grinned happily, that was smooth...
