Chapter 6: Chapter 6 Facing Off in the Mall
Someone put up a billion yuan to find her, and the people on Golden Net would surely be unable to resist the temptation to look for her whereabouts. She wasn't worried about others, only one power that she had to guard against.
The International Police would definitely take notice. With their relentless working style, they would surely cling on like dogs with bone, impossible to shake off once they latch on.
But if she didn't make a move, her whereabouts would definitely be exposed, and it was inevitable that people would come looking for her.
Better to deal with the International Police than to let it come to that.

The next morning, Sister Li's knocking woke her up. She got out of bed somewhat listlessly.
"Yueyue, time for breakfast. I made your favorite century egg and lean pork congee."
Yun Yue came downstairs to see everyone already seated, with Lin Xiang having pulled out a chair waiting for her.
She walked over with her hands in her pockets, her hair loosely draped, looking like she hadn't quite woken up, wearing a plaid shirt like the one from yesterday, only in a different color.
Lin Xuanze thought as he watched her approach, who is this social sister!
So dispirited yet so cool!
Yun Yue sat down, the century egg and lean pork congee in front of her had plenty of meat and eggs. She bowed her head to take a sip and squinted her eyes slightly.
"Mom said you love to drink century egg and lean pork congee. I got up early today and made it following her instructions. I don't know if it suits your taste," Lin Xiang said, looking a bit nervous. She rarely cooked, and Sister Li usually prepared the meals at home.
"It's alright."
Her response was indifferent, impossible to tell whether she liked it or not.
But Liu Lanfang knew. If her granddaughter said it was alright, it must be delicious.
Lin Xiang watched her take a few more spoonfuls, a smile lit up in her eyes, and the anxiety in her heart vanished. It looked like Yueyue did enjoy it.
"Mom! How come I've never seen you cook for me!" Lin Xuanze complained, with a hint of jealousy. He was nearly 18 and had never once eaten a meal cooked by his birth mother. And here she was, cooking for someone who had only been with them for a day? Such treatment!
And he was her biological son!
"How could you say that! Isn't it right in front of you!" Lin Xiang looked at him coldly.
Lin Xuanze glanced at the congee in his bowl and leaned back, suddenly feeling it was no longer appetizing.
Yun Zhonghai sat next to him and hummed disdainfully in his heart, giving Lin Xuanze a sidelong glance.
Lin Xuanze felt his gaze and looked up.
Father and son exchanged looks.
Yun Zhonghai: Don't be ungrateful. Even though it wasn't made for you, your mother made it. It's good enough that you have something to eat!
Lin Xuanze: ...
Watching Yun Zhonghai enjoy the congee, he felt both happy and bitter as he finished his bowl in no time. After all, it was made by his mother, even if not for him...
His gaze somberly landed on Yun Yue, full of jealousy. When her gaze swept over, it was both cold and arrogant, infuriatingly itchy!

After breakfast, Yun Zhonghai went to the company. Lin Xiang had taken a few days off recently under the pretense of wanting to spend time with her daughter!
Inside the BMW, Lin Xuanze and the driver sat in the front, while Lin Xiang and the other two sat in the back.
"Yueyue, today Auntie will take you shopping. Whatever you like, just buy it. Auntie has plenty of money. Mom, you too. If you see anything you like, just buy it!"
"I want in too! I saw a pair of new sneakers…" Lin Xuanze's eyes sparkled; he came out precisely for those sneakers.
"Be a good boy, son. Today your job is to carry bags. Otherwise, I'll cut your allowance in half."
Lin Xiang said, using the gentlest voice to deliver the harshest words.
Lin Xuanze's face darkened instantly, "Driver, please stop by the roadside, someone needs to get off!"
"Master, once you pay my salary, I'll go west when you tell me to and never east."
The driver joked, too, and his words made Lin Xiang and Liu Lanfang laugh, even Yun Yue's lips curved slightly.
Lin Xuanze felt that he had lost all standing in this family, and now he was sure he had fallen out of favor!
The trio walked through the mall, attracting many glances, simply because the stark difference in attire between the two young ladies and the noblewoman beside them. Yet, everyone only glanced once before turning their eyes away.
Liu Lanfang was visiting this kind of mall for the first time, feeling both intrigued and restrained, especially after seeing the prices on display—she dared not even think of buying.
Yun Yue, however, showed little emotion, her gaze indifferent. Despite being poorly dressed for the setting, she emitted an air of pride that made people take a second look.
"This, this is too expensive, let's go," Liu Lanfang, having seen the prices, with one piece of clothing costing over a thousand, felt as if wearing such clothes was like being draped in conspicuous red banknotes!
Lin Xiang could very much relate to her feelings, given how frugal they had been for so many years, so it was only natural to take some time to adjust.
After much persuasion, Liu Lanfang agreed to purchase a few of the cheaper selections. As for Yun Yue, she didn't even try anything on. Though thin, she had the perfect figure for clothes, like a mannequin, so if Lin Xiang thought it looked good, she simply bought it for her.
Girls should be raised in the lap of luxury!
Lin Xuanze took Liu Lanfang around the mall and when they returned, they were both laughing and talking, which surprised both women.
Yun Yue raised an eyebrow, surprised to see that Lin Xuanze had the knack to cheer his grandmother up.
At the top of the mall.
A pair of well-defined hands rested on the railing, cold in the lamplight.
The man wore a black trench coat, his figure tall and slender, with a straight nose and long eyelashes shading the iciness in his eyes. He was distractedly fidgeting with a dark green jade thumb ring.
His gaze accidentally met another pair of eyes.
These eyes were icy and somewhat proud, the slender figure not shying away from his look.
Interesting!
"What are you looking at?" Feng Ye came over in a black suit, his expression slightly disdainful. Had he just spoken?
"Nothing." The man's voice was deep. He turned his head to the side, presenting Feng Ye with a glimpse of his icy face.
His presence was overwhelming, haughty, and noble!
It suddenly seemed understandable why the ladies of Beijing were crazy about this man.
This was the Crown Prince of Beijing, ruthless and formidable, and no one dared to provoke him.
He never seemed to care much about anything, which irked the elders of the Xiao Family, but they did not dare complain openly because of his methods.
Xiao Chen lit a cigarette and turned around, exhaling. The smoke curled around him, his sharp features becoming hazy, his tall figure leaning against the railing. His misty eyes narrowed slightly, and his prominent hands flicked the cigarette.
"Any news?"
"No." Feng Ye shook his head. The offer had been out for a day, and although many were tempted by the reward, no one could provide reliable information.
Xiao Chen, with seeming indifference, uttered four words, "As expected."
If it were that easy to locate the Ghost Doctor, he would not be so elusive.
"I guess someone has secretly erased the Ghost Doctor's tracks. Even the Black Alliance is tempted by the reward, but none can find his whereabouts. Could there be someone more capable than the Black Alliance?"
Feng Ye stroked his chin, his handsome face now filled with contemplation.
"Let's go." Xiao Chen put out his cigarette, his deep eyes revealing profound thoughts.
Was someone helping him?
There must be, for over twenty years, with so many powers searching for the Ghost Doctor without success. If it weren't for Elder He's recent intel that the Ghost Doctor had appeared in Lan City, he might have believed the Ghost Doctor was already dead.
