Chapter 299: Impose A Ban
Gui Sha was struck in a daze as he browsed through a screenshot that Gao Zhong's assistant gave to him.
"Reaver Guild Assassin tried to assassinate Lin Feng, only to end up being killed and detained." Gui Sha read each word with great difficulty.
This was totally not his doing!
To assassinate someone in the city, much less the Adventure Association?
Just what kind of retard would do such an act?
"Young Master Gao, this was not my order," Gui Sha hurriedly turned to Gao Zhong and tried to clarify the matter. He would admit it if the fault was his, but this was clearly not his order.
However, Gao Zhong didn't even seem to care. His fault or not, the matter came to this stage was none other than him at the end of the day.
"I no longer care, but you shall be demoted from your rank and resolve this mess at once. Make a concession with Lin Feng for all I care, but that must be under your name and only yours. If the branch guild is still suffering in Star Falls City, then I'll let you know what it means to be sorry."
Gao Zhong solemnly declared, stood up, and exited the meeting room.
At the same time, he made a mental note of the name, Lin Feng.
'The trend is in your favor for now, but once it turns. Lin Feng, I will make you pay for this humiliation.' Gao Zhong solemnly vowed.
Shortly after his exit, the assistant also left the meeting room, followed by four other people.
Jason remained a bit longer, his smirking grin was enough to show how much he enjoyed this meeting.
It was a good thing that Gui Sha was too dazed to even notice Jason's smirking grin, as his mind only thought of one possibility.
'That fucking Eagle Snipe stabbed me in the back!' He clenched his fist tightly. Other than Eagle Snipe, there were no more possible suspects who could order and mobilize the men in the Reaver Guild.
With his demotion being cemented, naturally, the vice guild leader will take up the guild leader position, meaning he was now ranked below Eagle Snipe.
Even an idiot would know how harsh the days Gui Sha had to deal with now.
Despite knowing it was Eagle Snipe's backstab, Gui Sha could only smile bitterly.
Had it not been for his urge to stomp Carmen further to prevent anyone from hindering his development, then he wouldn't have encountered Lin Feng back at the Brightstone Ravine.
While Gui Sha slumped to his back, pondering over how to make a concession with Lin Feng, back at the Divine World, Xu Feng was being briefed by Jessica.
"Feng, these are the competition rules that we received," Jessica said solemnly. "Keep in mind that we only have an hour left before the teleportation connecting to Paradise Plains will open."
Xu Feng nodded, his eyes reading through the competition rules. Read new chapters at empire
The competition was rather simple. Three rounds in total, with the first round testing their Profession familiarity. Consider it like a preliminary round in how much knowledge the contestant had of their respective Profession.
To simplify, one needed to study hard to identify an item, equipment, design, etc, and the lore behind it.
This essentially would eliminate quite a lot, and the second round would be for the contestants to craft or make an item of their respective Profession. Materials must be brought in by the contestants themselves, and within a time limit of one hour max.
'So in this round, it's where the Tier 1 Stamina Gemstone comes into place.' Xu Feng furrowed his brows, having understood the gist. The rules for this particular competition were totally different than the ones he recalled.
However, it made sense, given this competition was supposed to be meant for NPCs only and players were unqualified. Or at the very least, no one expected a player to be eligible to even get a slot to participate in the competition.
Finally, the final round was quite special.
The authority from Paradise Plains themselves would choose a design or test for the contestants to study and have a time limit of two hours max to successfully craft or forge them.
Of course, different Profession categories had their own individually chosen designs, but every contestant would be competing fairly.
After all, the content of the final round remained unknown, meaning no one would know until it commenced.
Initially, Xu Feng wanted to cry for wasting his time in studying the blacksmith Profession further. He thought he was required to craft amazing equipment to achieve a higher ranking, but that was not the case.
Nevertheless, thanks to his studies, he was now reassured in passing the preliminary round.
Shortly after seeing Xu Feng putting down the competition rule at the table, Jessica smiled lightly. "Are there any inquiries you would like to know about?"
"No, the rules are concise." Xu Feng shook his head. "By the way, can I impose a ban on a particular guild from undertaking any mission that the Adventure Association will receive?"
"Impose a ban?" Startled, Jessica glanced at him in shock. "Are you referring to the earlier Assassin who made a move against you?"
"Mhmm, that Assassin is from the Reaver Guild and they have been hindering me for a while." Xu Feng explained the situation.
A somewhat complicated expression appeared on Jessica's face.
Detaining the Assassin from earlier was well within her authority to do so, given they attacked within the association. However, to impose a ban on its respective guild was way out of her authority.
Just because there was one bad blood within a guild, didn't mean all of them were terrible too. Not to mention, Xu Feng didn't have much evidence to back his claim.
"I'm sorry—"
Before Jessica could apologize and refuse his request, Xu Feng yawned softly and brought out a precious ore.
"Starstone??!" Jessica stood up, her mouth left agape, clearly stunned by the sight of the Starstone that Xu Feng had brought out.
