Chapter 12: Chapter 12 {Who Are You?}
"The won't find me," Aika said coldly as she looked at the hot tea in her hands and she smirked.
"They can work hard but they won't get far," Aika muttered. Aika did not care about the Frost Family she didn't care about what will happen to them. She finished her breakfast and the servants took her plates.
Aika's smirk grew wider as she took a sip of her tea, her eyes gleaming with a cold, hard light.
"I've taken care of myself for seven years, I can take care of myself now," she said, her voice dripping with confidence. Old Madam Cathy and Old Master Nicky exchanged a worried glance, but Aika just laughed, a low, husky sound.
The servants cleared the table, and Aika stood up, her movements fluid and economical.
"I think I'll take a nap," she said, her voice languid.
"Wake me up when it's time for lunch." With that, she turned and walked out of the room, leaving Old Madam Cathy and Old Master Nicky to exchange a concerned glance. They knew that Aika's carefree facade hid a complex web of emotions, and they worried about the day when the Frost Family would finally catch up with her.
"Mama you are just a sleeping beauty!" Penelope pouted with a chubby cheeks the other two also chimed in.
"Mama come let's go and see the city!" Kingston said happily. Ayla was the quiet and she smiled gently agreeing with her siblings.
Aika couldn't help but laugh at her children's antics, her expression softening.
"Alright, alright, my little monsters," she said, scooping up Penelope in her arms and tickling her chubby cheeks.
"Mama will take you on an adventure, but first, let's get dressed and ready." She glanced at Kingston and Ayla, who were both bouncing up and down with excitement.
"And then, we'll go explore the city and have some fun." Aika's eyes sparkled with amusement as she led her children out of the room, ready to take on the day and make some memories with her little family.
Aika smiled as she watched her children excitedly climb aboard the city soul bus, a futuristic mode of transportation that seemed to defy gravity. The bus's sleek, silver exterior gleamed in the sunlight as it hovered above the ground, its soft hum filling the air. Aika followed her children onto the bus, her eyes scanning the interior as they found their seats.
"Welcome to the Xanaz City Soul Bus," a gentle, automated voice announced, as the bus's interior screens flickered to life, displaying a map of the city and various points of interest.
"Please select your destination from the menu, and we will take you there in comfort and style."
Aika's children, Kingston and Penelope, immediately began pressing buttons and selecting destinations, their eyes wide with excitement. Ayla, on the other hand, sat quietly, observing the bus's interior with interest. Aika smiled, settling in beside her children, ready to enjoy the ride and explore the city with her little family.
As the bus glided smoothly through the city, Aika's children chattered excitedly, pointing out various landmarks and attractions. Kingston and Penelope were bubbling over with energy, while Ayla sat quietly, taking it all in. Aika smiled, watching her children's antics with amusement.
The bus's automated voice announced their approach to the city's famous Starlight Square, a popular destination known for its stunning views of the city and its vibrant atmosphere. Aika's children squealed with excitement, pressing their faces against the bus's windows to get a better look.
As the bus came to a stop, Aika stood up, gathering her children's hands.
"Shall we get off here and explore?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Kingston and Penelope nodded eagerly, while Ayla smiled quietly, her eyes shining with anticipation.
The bus's doors slid open, and Aika led her children out into the bustling square, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the vibrant city. The air was filled with the smells of street food and the sound of laughter and music. Aika's children gazed around in wonder, taking it all in.
"Shall we grab some ice cream at the famous Starlight Creamery, kids? I heard they have a new flavor!"
Aika's children cheered and clapped, their eyes lighting up at the mention of ice cream. Kingston and Penelope started jumping up and down, while Ayla smiled and nodded quietly. Aika laughed and led her children to the creamery, which was located in a beautiful, ornate building with a sign that read "Starlight Creamery" in glittering letters.
As they entered the creamery, Aika's children were immediately struck by the colorful array of ice cream flavors on display. Kingston and Penelope started arguing over which flavor to get, while Ayla walked over to the counter and examined the options carefully.
Aika smiled and joined Ayla at the counter, scanning the menu.
"What do you think, sweetie? Do you want to try the new flavor, 'Galactic Swirl'?" she asked, reading from the menu.
Ayla nodded thoughtfully, her eyes fixed on the menu.
"I think I'll try the 'Moonlight Mint' instead, Mama," she said quietly.
Aika smiled and ordered the ice cream for her children, who eagerly awaited their treats. As they waited, Kingston and Penelope started to get restless, bouncing up and down with excitement.
Finally, the ice cream was ready, and Aika handed it out to her children. They dug in eagerly, savoring the sweet, creamy flavors. Aika smiled, watching her children enjoy their treats, feeling grateful for this special moment with her little family.
Aika licked her ice cream, oblivious to the stares and whispers around her. She was used to being the center of attention, and it no longer fazed her. She smiled at her children, who were enjoying their ice cream and laughing together. Kingston and Penelope were making a mess with their ice cream, while Ayla was eating hers neatly. Aika chuckled and handed Kingston a napkin.
"Here, sweetie, you're making a mess."
As they finished their ice cream, Aika glanced around and spotted a small, quaint bookstore nearby.
"Hey kids, let's go check out that bookstore. I heard they have a great selection of rare books," she said, her eyes sparkling with interest. Her children nodded enthusiastically, and Aika led them towards the bookstore, her long, dark hair swaying behind her. As they walked, Aika's beauty continued to turn heads, but she remained unaware, lost in her own little world with her children.
Aika pushed open the door to the bookstore, and a bell above the door rang out, signaling their entrance. The store was cozy, with rows of shelves stacked high with books of all kinds. Aika's children immediately began to explore, running their fingers over the spines of the books and pulling out ones that caught their eye. Aika smiled and followed them, her eyes scanning the shelves for anything that caught her interest.
As they browsed, Aika noticed a section of the store dedicated to rare and ancient tomes. Her eyes lit up with excitement, and she walked over to investigate. The books on these shelves were old and worn, their covers cracked and faded. Aika's fingers trailed over the spines, feeling a sense of reverence for the knowledge contained within.
One book in particular caught her eye - an ancient tome bound in black leather, adorned with strange symbols and markings. Aika's heart skipped a beat as she reached out to touch the book, feeling a sudden sense of connection to it.
Aika's eyes remained fixed on the couple, her heart beating rapidly. She felt an inexplicable connection to the woman, but it was the man who drew her attention. Though his face was shrouded in shadows, Aika sensed an overwhelming familiarity, as if she had known him for lifetimes. The woman's smile was radiant, and Aika felt a pang of longing, as if she was meant to be with this mysterious man.
The woman's eyes met Aika's, and for a moment, they shared a deep understanding. Aika felt the woman's emotions - love, joy, and a hint of sadness. The woman's gaze seemed to be conveying a message, but Aika couldn't quite decipher it. As suddenly as it began, the vision faded, and Aika found herself back in the bookstore, the owner staring at her in awe.
The owner's eyes were wide, and he took a step back, as if afraid to approach her.
"Who are you?" he whispered, his voice trembling. Aika blinked, trying to process what had just happened. She looked down at the book, still clutched in her hand, and felt a strange energy emanating from it.
