40K x AOT: Warden of Sorrows

Chapter 4: I Am Captain Levi of The Special Operations Team!

"Just tell them I sent you over to ease some of their suspension. A messenger pidgion will arrive later on to update them and confirm what you say. If things go sour, please don't hurt them too badly." Joshua asked, knowing that anything could happen.

"I'll keep that in mind." Saying that, Cloudius put his, now cleaned, helmet on and gave them a nod.

Everyone watched as the glistening war machine walked off into the distance.

"It's amazing that such a person existed. Where do you think he came from?" A soldier asked Joshua.

"Who knows? Maybe there's a more advanced nation out there. Regardless, I get the feeling something historical is about to happen over the next few years." With a smile, they all looked off into the distance before returning to their fortress.

"Hmph!" Cloudius swung his halberd, cleanly slicing through the leg of a titan followed by another that cut off it's arms with a final slice beheading the behemoth.

He swung his halberd around his back and used the momentum to cut through the legs of two more titans, beheading them as they feel to the ground.

The blood on his armor quickly evaporated away and the shining grey color returned. Putting his wepon away he again started to jog away using the data of the map he analyzed.

He soon was full on sprinting going 100mph and accelerating with the help of his psyker energy.

'I should reach Eldia in a week, give or take a day.' While estimating the time he'd reach his destination, he thought of something else. Namely being the way the soldiers fought the titans.

While he was getting his armor cleaned, he got out of it to perform the cleaning himself and was able to talk more with Joshua.

'Their styof fighting reminds me a lot of the blood angles albeit they weren't fully flying. It took precise control of momentum, movements and their sense of balance. This could be great for the Imperial Army.' He mulled.

The idea of him using his psychic power to allow himself to fly also came to mind, but he also felt it would do no good to use it that way. Although he figured it would be easy since his army wasn't heavy to him by any means.

'It wouldn't hurt to try it on a later date. Learning to control such mobility could also serve as good training.' He reasoned with himself.

Seeing more titans up ahead, he accelerated and with a great leap, he begeaded the titan and went to the next. Dispatching it with the same mobility.

Like this he traveled for four days and nights, only taking one 3 hour rest albeit in the wide open fields of the outside world. During that time he passed many functioning forts and supply stations.

Although he was met with some resistance, he still made sure to inscribe warding charms into each one. He was able to pass on his words to the few that actually listened and he cared not for the deaf; his mission remained the same.

It wasn't long before word of a glistening war machine that promised freedom from their blight spread amongst the fortress holders. Some thought it to be false stories used to boost moral and others claimed to see him perform inhuman feats, defeating a dozen titans in just seconds.

They say he wore bulky armor with a plethora of badge, medals and talismans attached to it. He was equipped with wepons as big as them and as powerful as lighting. He was so strong he could toss titans around like toys and knock them off their feet with a single punch.

It was as this armored being was a demigod of some nature. However, nobody but one brigade knew how he looked outside of his armor.

An abnormally tall man with a perfect physique. He was inhumanly handsome with wavy, dark hair that reached his shoulders. While it sounded like the fantasy of a woman, they all said the most alluring feature of this man were his eyes. Light grey eyes that seemed to glow. A cold, but reliable feeling was given to those that they moved to look at.

This information spread all the way to the ears of the man widely known as Humanities Strongest Soldier. Captain Levi Ackerman.

"As far fetched as it sounds it could also be true." He said, taking a bite of an apple while sitting at a table within a nearby supply station.

"It certainly does add up with the state of remains from titans lately. Loads of blunt force trauma, holes within the skulls of beheaded titans deep indentions within the ground nearby the remains. Relatively most of the stories are consistent on multiple accounts." Hange Zoe noted.

"As I said, it could be true. It could also be false and this is the work of an abnormal." He took another bite of his apple, his eyes remaining on a nearby window.

"Do you think we'll get to meet him? He sounds just like my type! Do you think he'll let me experiment on him~?" She asked with a haughty expression.

Levi placed the core of the apple in the trash and put the seeds into his pocket, folded into a small napkin.

"Moreover, do you believe this being can actually use magic?" He asked, now looking at her with a neutral gaze.

Yes, the stories also depict him using a mysterious force to speak to their minds and even hold titans in place. Although it was very rarely seen so the stories get more exaggerated as they are passed.

"That could be trickey. I can't give an answer until I confirm all of his other mysterious. Even his existence is a mystery at the moment. Ouuuu, just imagining his brain is driving me NUTS!"

"...Hange Zoe, I'll say this again, but when I die, remember that you aren't allowed to do any experiments with my body."

"You always ruin the mood." She pouted.

"It was one that needed to be ruined. Anyways, we had better get back to traveling. We're just a day away and it'll be nightfall in a few hours."

"Right."

Just as she replied, a soldier came rushing in with an anxious demeanor.

"I-IT'S HERE! THE WAR MACHINE IS HERE!!!" He shouted.

Levi sighed and calmly stood up.

"Guess it's time we confirm a few things." He said, calmly stretching out and popping his joints.

.

.

.

.

"So you're Captain Levi." Cloudius said, it being more of a statement than inquiry.

"And you're the War Machine." He responed in kind. The air felt tense as the two sized each other up.

"So I hear you want to unite yourself with the military?" Levi inquired.

"So the pidgion beat me." Cloudius mumbled, but his voice still audible.

"What?"

"A messenger pidgion from Captain Joshua of the 18th brigade?"

"No, I hadn't received anything of the sort."

"Very well then. To correct a discrepancy, I proposed a unified force of our might to lead a direct assult on all titans of this world." Cloudius proclaimed.

"You have some big dreams. Fortunately we do too."

"Not dreams, but a duty to my Emperor."

Levi and Cloudius eyed each other. The soldiers all peeking out at the intersection, even writting it down in journals.

"Follow me inside. There are a few things we have to discuss."

Wordlessly Levi turned around Cloudius followed him silent.

"What the hell are you all gawking at? I want a 30 paged maintenance report on your equipment by the time we set out." Immediately the soldiers scattered and got to checking their equipment for the 100th time in the last hour.

.

.

.

Now it was just Levi and Cloudius in a meeting room.

"Hey, you know I'm going to make you fix all the broken floorboards here, right?" Levi questioned, his eye twitching at the sight of the broken floor caused by the bulky armor Cloudius wore.

"Your floors are not my interes. Those unholy abominations are my only concern. As they are you're enemy, you should be grateful I ened up here to help." Cloudius responded.

"Where exactly are you from?"

"That information is unnecessary. Will you join me in purging the titans or must I take on your burden myself?" Cloudius knew what he was doing when he said those words.

He was aiming at a soldiers pride. A man's pride. To throw your responsibilities onto another man and an unknown one at that, is a mans biggest failure.

However, the provocation had no effect.

"You come here knowing plenty about us from our own men, but you can't spare a bit of information about yourself huh? How unjust of a knight."

"I have yet to know the customs of this world. For I have blasphemed the Emperor enough just allowing you all to live after seeing my being." A hint of hurt was noticed in his voice.

"I hear you take your duty very seriously. I also heard that you admire this Emperor of yours greatly. Mind telling me what's so great about him?" Levi asked.

"The Emperor is the most just and heroic being to ever come into existence. He is the leader and rightful ruler of all mankind. Even you on this lost, unknown world. Records of his great deeds have been recorded throughout the entire cosmos."

"Funny, never heard of the guy." Levi smirked, getting Cloudius back for his provocation.

"To be expected from a planet where your own kind is near extinct. You lack the advancement to know of such greatness. You might not even have a clue that your insignificant planet is mere dust compared to his empire."

"..."

"..."

"Why don't we return to the makn topic?" Levi suggested with a hint of bitterness.

"Shall we?" Cloudius said with a proud tone.

"So, am I to believe you're actually capable of killing dozens of titans in mere seconds?"

"I've traveled these lands on foot for a short while and have purged an irrelevant lot of 600 in total. From what I hear, you're capable of such results yourself?" Cloudius inquired.

"I'll kill as many as my life permits. Although it isn't near the amount you claim." Levi informed him.

"So, what's this grand strategy you've come up with to rid the entire world of Titans. I'm greatly Intrigued."

"A crusade. A direct assult of pure force. How many are your numbers?" Cloudius asked.

Levi's eyes sharpened.

"Not nearly enough for that and it's a plan that will recklessly get my soldiers killed!" His tone struggling to remain composed at the absurd proposal.

"Dying in this crusade would bring great honor. This is also their duty to their nation and their people!" Cloudius argued.

"No! Our duty is to bring humanity into a new age; a Titan free age of prosperity! You will bring nothing but ruin to the people and maybe even this world! Some savior you claim to be."

"You dare insult my legitimacy? You're numbers are nearly obsolete and it's clear from the unexplored land I arrived on that you and your soldiers are doing a piss poor job at fulfilling that one duty! Who are you to combat my appro-"

*THOOM*

Slamming his fist into the table Levi had enough and was at the very tip of reaxhing his breaking point!

"I am Levi Ackerman! The Captain of the Special Operations Team within the dignified and fearless Survey Corps! Native of this world and Huamnities STRONGEST Soldier! Insult the work of my team again and I don't care if I die here and now, you WILL come with me!" A fury was lit in the dark eyes of the soldier across frkm Cloudius.

A fury that was made clear through words, expression and aura.

Cloudius was partly taken aback from he saw, but he couldn't have been more proud of the words he'd just heard come from a seemingly lesser being.

"I will applaud you for your leadership, for it was a spectacular display of both kinship and duty. Such words won't be voiced again. Knights Honor." Cloudius swore.

Levi simmered down leaned back in his seat with his leg placed over the other and his arms folded.

"You're plan won't work. It'd be best to formulate some real tactics as to minimize casualties and make the most use of our attack force. We can cooperate, but under know circumstance will I tolerate giving up lives needlessly or in a useless manner without mine being one of them." He said in a stern voice.

"Then we shall formulate some tactics."

"In that regard, I'd like to inspect some of your equipment, if you don't mind."

"Then allow me to also look at some more advanced machinery."

"Sure, we could also use a bit of..."

"No problem, perhaps it'd be best if we..."

.

.

.

.

As the two rambled on, dozens of soldiers stood outside of the door with teary eyes after hearing Levi stand up to what could be seen as a Demigod amongst men!

"GUYS LETS MAKE A 100 PAGE EQUIPMENT REPORT NOT LEAVING OUT A SINGLE DETAIL!!"

"YEAH!!"

"LE-VI!!"

"LE-VI!!"

"LE-VI!!"

"SHUT UP AND MAKE IT 200!!" Levi yelled from the other side of the door.

They could on scratch their heads and laugh.
