A Demon King Through The Worlds

Chapter 66: Chapter 66

Although Lucian is a little keen to know what methods they will come up with to try to deal with him in the future, he still doesn't want a second Tamayo to appear.

Let's face it, the methods developed by outsiders who have little information and the methods developed by a traitor who knows a lot are very different.

Both in how effective they will be in the end, and in the significance they both have. Needless to say, the attacks carried out by traitors are the most dangerous and the appearance of a traitor can cause a lot of problems, after all, you never know how many other traitors will appear thanks to the first one.

One thing he has "seen" happen many times is someone being defeated by something they themselves created. And Lucian doesn't want something like that to happen to him, so his caution is always present when creating new demons.

Muzan forced people to become demons and even in situations where the individual agreed, a lot of information was withheld, which caused most demons to feel great dissatisfaction and disloyalty.

This is what happened to Tamayo. Muzan appeared offering a cure for her illness, but didn't tell her about the transformation, about what she would become. In the end, she lost her husband and son, and she has hated Muzan ever since.

Considering this, Lucian decided to take the simplest route – telling people before transforming them, preventing such resentments from arising. But obviously, such a method is far from absolute, so he added a few precautions.

Better to have and not need, than need and not have.

'But she shouldn't be able to see that... is it because she's a ghoul or have I not got it right yet? After all, it's my first time putting a curse on her...' Lucian thought, a little confused that someone had realized this so soon, but then said to Touka:

"Anyway, you don't have to worry, it'll only be a problem if you're planning a betrayal. And compared to that, the previous leader was much more 'strict'."

"Good." Touka breathed a sigh of relief, heart discomfort was never a good sign, or rather, it was usually quite serious, often deadly. And she's still too young to die, especially with a heart condition.

"But what do you mean the previous leader was stricter?"

"It was forbidden to say his name. Those who said it died on the spot," Lucian answered simplistically, comparing the 'curse' they both placed on their subordinates, it's not hard to tell which is better.

"Really... I think calling it rigid is an understatement." Touka couldn't help but be stunned for a moment, it was the first time she'd heard something like that.

How could someone who kills his subordinates so easily still have subordinates? Not to mention how many would be willing to follow such a person, how many of them would still be alive?

Of course, if recruitment took place in the conventional way, Muzan really wouldn't have any subordinates.

Not that he would need one anyway.

"Changing the subject, I wonder why you didn't call me when Kaneki was kidnapped," Lucian leaned his head on his hand before asking curiously.

You see, even if he hadn't intended to arrive in time, he still hoped that he would be called.

"Uh... I was taken by surprise and initially the situation didn't seem so dangerous." Touka was a little embarrassed to remember how quickly her brother had defeated her. Then with a little hesitation, she asked: "Do you think the kidnapping could have been prevented if I'd been a little more careful?"

You could see a hint of guilt appearing on her face as she thought about it.

"No, from the moment Aogiri Tree decided they were going to capture him, it became practically inevitable, the only way to stop it would be for him to hide somewhere out of reach of that organization." Lucian shook his head, giving a negative answer to her question.

Well, it's not difficult to get out of Aogiri Tree's reach, just get out of Tokyo. If it still doesn't work, just leave Japan and go to some random country, but Kaneki would hardly do that.

There's at least one good reason for that – he didn't know he'd be attacked.

And if he left Tokyo, how could it be called "Tokyo Ghoul"?

In short, he just didn't want Touka to blame himself, and if you look at it another way, it's his fault, because he knew it would happen.

"And blaming yourself won't save Kaneki, just focus on familiarizing yourself with your new power, and then we'll invade Aogiri's base to rescue you."

"I see." Hearing these words, Touka nodded, forcibly suppressing the guilt and doubts that were in his mind.

'Yes, he's right, blaming myself won't solve anything. I should just build up my strength, preparing for this battle.

'That's good. If you want, you can get some tips from Mitsuri, she's an expert in high-speed combat and flexibility," Lucian commented as he finished drinking his tea.

Who could know Mitsuri's flexibility better than him?

And naturally, he knows that her combat style is very suitable for ukaku-type kagunes, so why not let Touka train with her for a while?

"Thank you." Touka was grateful to see Lucian's willingness to help her improve. Although she had never seen Mitsuri or any of the other women close to him fighting, she could still sense that they possessed great strength.

Even though their strength might not be very different, having a training partner would still help her a lot.

"Mitsuri, could you come here?" Lucian called softly, but he was using the connection he has with all demons to transmit the message directly to Mitsuri's ears.

As for "here", it didn't matter that a precise location wasn't given, as he asked her to come to him, the castle would soon open a door directly to the correct room.

And just as expected, it didn't take more than a minute before she appeared.

Seeing the joyful smile on her face, and her pink hair swaying slightly as she walked, Lucian again sighed internally about how right his decision to turn her into a demon had been.

He couldn't let such beauty suffer under the relentless hands of the flow of time, after all, time doesn't spare humans.

"What's wrong, dear?" Mitsuri asked as her eyes roamed the room to observe those present.

"Touka has just become a demon and wants to train with you for a while, is that all right?"

"Of course!" Without a moment's hesitation, Mitsuri agreed with a broad smile on her face and quickly walked over to Touka, taking her hands, "Come on, I'll help you as much as I can!"

And without giving Touka time to react, she quickly pulled her through the door she had come through.

"Ehh?" This was the only sound she managed to make in her dazed state, before disappearing as the door closed.

The corner of Lucian's mouth twitched slightly as he saw the stark contrast between Mitsuri's excited state and Touka's dazed one.

And of course, having seen a scene that only appears in anime. But well, he's been in one "anime world" and just entered another, so he shouldn't be surprised by things like that.

'But it's really a shame that I don't have any ghouls related to the Washuu clan...'

It would have been fine if he hadn't remembered that people from the Washuu clan have an easier time awakening kakuja, but Tsukiyama ended up making him remember that.

But at the moment, it was a little difficult to achieve.

Kaneki has been kidnapped, so he's a long way off. Besides, he doesn't have enough kakuhou even for normal use, let alone extras that can be pulled out, so Lucian could only give up doing this so as not to lose the benefits that can be acquired in the future.

Rize Kamishiro is stuck in Kanou's lab, so there's no way to get the kakuhou from her either, and he doesn't want to delay the emergence of the other artificial ghouls.

As for the other members of the Washuu clan? Either they were right at the CCG's base, or Lucian simply didn't remember them.

Either way, going after any member of the Washuu clan wouldn't bring him enough benefit to justify the effort.
