A Malefic Adventure

I was still absorbing what had just transpired, including the potential of losing my family and best friend. All I had was a box that I had picked up from my demolished house as a remembrance of my mother and father, but for the time being, I had to assume that I was the only survivor from my city because Lara was unconcerned about the city's devastation. She showed no symptoms of anxiety about the city; if her family lived there, she might be concerned or stressed, but when you sum it all up, his father owned a planetarium outside of the city along the shore. That was sufficient evidence that Lara did not live in the city. It started to grow cold on our way to the mountain, and I thought I was going to die. My body began to quiver so much that I couldn't disguise it any longer.

Lara: we're almost there. (She remarked in a serious tone)

Draitus: Great. Anyway, I haven't heard you talk about your family, do you mind sharing a little about who they are?

Lara: Yes, I do not mind at all. My parents originally moved to the city when technology was still in its early stages; my mother was a scientist working on a project involving matter enhancement then she disappeared a few days after I was born, so my father cared for me. We relocated near the seaside because my father couldn't endure the sorrow of living in the city, which reminded him of my mother. My father was fascinated by planets, thus he owned a planetarium. He vanished 5 years ago, but not before entrusting me to Fetron as my guardian. Fetron took care of me and revealed information about myself that I was unaware of. That is pretty much all. (Said with a smile).

Lara has gone through a lot. I couldn't image losing my parents at such a young age, and it shocked me that she shows no signs of sadness or scars from the past. The youngsters at school just noticed her brilliant smile, cute features, kind heart, and well-oiled manners. She was someone who smiled no matter how difficult the school year was, adored by all teachers, and one of the top students in our class. Then I noted that, while talking about her background, she mentioned that Fetron had revealed something about her that she was unaware of. When I looked up, I noticed a building constructed of metal and wood. The door to the building was pure gold, then I heard Lara say "We are here".

An elderly man in a golden robe greeted us.

Lara: Meet Fetron, my guardian,

Draitus: It's a pleasure to meet you, Draitus.

Fetron: In the same way, I notice how worn out you kids are. How about you enter my palace and take a little nap?

Draitus: very well but before we rest, I'm wondering if you know anything about the latest incident. The one involved with my city.

Fetron: of course, I know what happened but let's talk inside.

We went inside the building. We sat in the living room as we discussed about the city's destruction.

Fetron: Let us now turn our attention to the topic at hand: the destruction of a major city appears almost unbelievable. That city was constructed of pricey materials, one of which will not burn easily. It is possible to assume that there was a significant technological flaw that caused the explosion, but this is not the case. That city's operational characteristics were excellent, so it couldn't have been a technical issue that caused the catastrophe. In such situation, there is only one true answer to the question: a magical being must have caused it.

Draitus: Did you say magical?

Fetron: I'm surprised that you have good hearing. Magical beings have a level of power where they are but looking at this situation I can't tell if it was a rookie or not.

Draitus: yeah right! I should believe in fairies, sirens, and unicorns now. This is a waste of my time.

Lara: he is speaking the truth Draitus.

Draitus: and how would I know, is there proof about any magical being ever existing if so show me one.

Fetron: so you have been close to Lara but never saw how she didn't shiver in the cold on your way here? Your not very bright are you? Can you please show him, Lara

Lara hairs turned from brown to white, her eyes turned from brown to blue in an instant and at her feet, the ground began to freeze. The atmosphere changed from being warm to sending chills down my spine, is that what a magical being is? At first glance she is normal but as she transformed her normal form looked impowered.

Fetron: That, my buddy, is what a novice magical being looks like. Isn't it wonderful? You can also awaken your skills, Draitus. As you can see, you are also a magical being. So, what do you say? Will you let me train you so that you can awaken your abilities?

I was taken by surprise. All of this was knew to me but at the end of the day it was my only chance to solve the mystery of what happened to my city, so I accepted the training.
