A Multi Adventure

Chapter 21: A possible servant for the future? (Y/N)

For a moment, silence enveloped us.

It would seem to stretch into an uncertain amount of time.

My mind raced with thoughts of the aliens mentioned by Azmuth.

Especially the Chronosapien race, as there is only one that is familiar to me.

He was the one who had almost annihilated his entire race as they try to stop him, in his insatiable quest for power.

Only to have that power wrenched away from him shortly thereafter by a seemingly ordinary man.

This was the man who had lost so much, yet paradoxically gained even more, unable to deny any of the overwhelming power of time itself.

He who is know as, professor Paradox, the one who put a stop to the time war.

With such thoughts swirling in my mind.

Alongside my knowledge of the Ben 10 saga.

I turned to Azmuth, my curiosity bubbling to the surface.

"The Chronosapiens you mentioned, has there been any news about them?"

I asked, my voice steady despite the turmoil in my mind about going against a whole time based race that has or will go rogue.

Azmuth narrowed his eyes, adopting a contemplative expression.

while Albedo's reaction was strikingly different.

His eyes widened in surprise as he interjected, urgency lacing his tone.

"I've heard rumors about a rogue Chronosapien who craves power!" he exclaimed.

"But for what reason is still unknown to me or anyone!"

Azmuth's face shifted to one of surprise.

As an old memory resurfaced.

"The name of this alien is Maltruant."

"He's currently on a quest to gather the parts needed to reconstruct his body,"

Azmuth explained gravely.

"This is due to a friend of mine, Paradox, who once halted him in his tracks!"

As if summoned by our conversation.

A voice resonated throughout the spaceship, a voice imbued with wisdom and authority.

"That is correct, Mr. Azmuth!"

Upon hearing his name called in that familiar tone.

A delighted but strained smile broke across Azmuth's face due to being called Mr.

As he turned in his chair to greet the unexpected guest.

"How nice of you to drop by Paradox!"

"I would assume you're supposed to be here at this time?"

Paradox could help but let out a laugh at this statement with amusement in his eyes.

"Oh, how much i enjoy this younger joking version of you, then your future self."

"As you're such a kill joy!"

He took a glance at me then to the sleeping Vados.

Until his gaze turned back to his small friend Azmuth.

In a lighthearted tone, he replied.

"Yes, I'm indeed supposed to be here, although…"

His expression shifted, subtly but noticeably.

As he regarded me once more.

It was clear that a keen curiosity lingered in his gaze more so than for the sleeping Angel.

"The circumstances have changed in ways that have drawn certain events closer together…" he mused.

"Sadly, time remains unyielding!"

"Its ultimate path of destiny has always been and will always be immutable.

It's much like the concept of infinity, though with a few extra steps!"

Azmuth shook his head in exasperation and retorted.

"Every time you visit or we meet, it seems you're the only one capable of giving me a headache over a topic as convoluted as time!"

His expression shifted to one of seriousness.

"Paradox, why are you here? Is it of great importance? Do you need my assistance?"

A smile blossomed on Paradox's face as he responded.

"Oh, it's nothing dire."

"I'm here to assist you in acquiring the DNA of Maltruant."

"The support of your companions should suffice to keep him at bay and more."

"In fact, there's a way to permanently eliminate this troublesome individual!"

Paradox, who had been casting sidelong glances at me throughout the conversation, suddenly vanished, only to reappear beside me.

He draped an arm around my shoulder casually, as a college friend might do with a best friend.

"Your name is Null, isn't it?" he inquired, his tone friendly.

"I apologize for my rudeness in overhearing your conversation and then appearing without a proper introduction."

"I have a rather important question for you."

With that, the man clad in a white lab coat raised his left arm, positioning his hand in front of both our faces, fingers pressed together.

In a swift motion, he snapped his fingers, causing time to come to a standstill.

He adjusted the tie around his neck, freeing his right arm from my shoulder.

As he move to get an eye to eyes view of one another.

"Sir Null," he began, his voice turning serious.

"would you be interested in taking on a servant"

"A member of the Chronosapien race, to be precise, Maltruant?"

"In return, I would offer you three favors from me."
