A New Light Remake

Chapter 2: Qorbãn

Light looked around in confusion. He thought that he died. He decides to pinch his hand to see if he's in some sort of dream or illusion. He makes a pained expression from this and realizes that it's not fake. He then looks at the ground and noticed that he's sitting on some sort of stone pedestal. He decides to get of the pedestal to investigate his surroundings. Immediately after getting off he looked down at himself and realizes that he's in ruined clothes and has no shoes on.

"What the hell is going on?"

He looked back at the pedestal he was laying on and saw that there were some sort story carved into it. He kneeled and took a closer look. It showed a person fighting creatures and people behind him like he's protecting them.

"Is this the caveman era or something?"

It took him a bet to realize but his voice had changed from squeaky to a nice and calming voice. His voice was like it was capable of calming others if they heard it. It wasn't deep nor was it light, it's just right in the middle. Light then quickly looked around for something to look at himself with and saw a puddle of water nearby. He quickly rushed over to the puddle to see what had happened to him.

Curly Golden blonde hair and yellow eyes with a shine comparable to that of gold, to add with pretty handsome features. This was a look that most guys wanted to look like and what most girls loved to look at.

"This.."

light was beyond surprised, he astonished, he couldn't believe it. "This is.. can't be me.."

"Hah."

He continued to look at himself and touch his face. "This is.. incredible."

As light continued to look at himself he had heard the sound of trees moving. He quickly looked up and around and saw that there was something moving towards him. Something big enough to move trees. He nervously got and decided to sneakily his behind a tree. He hid and observed from there to what the creature was. It then came out of the trees into the clearing he was just in.

60 foot tall, claws that are almost the size of houses, it's scales are similar to the barks of the trees, teeth that look to sharper than needles. Light was terrified, he had held his mouth shut and slowly fell to the ground with his back against the the tree. The creature was just passing through the area, it had no hind legs but it had an almost endlessly long tail as it passes. But there are certain spots were bits of flesh are revealed, but light was to scared to take notice.

But if there was one thing that light new, it's that if he stayed in that opening he would've been dead. He stays there for almost 30 minutes or so before going back into the opening. He then sits beside the the pedestal with his back on as a takes a breather.

"What in the living world was tha-"

He then hears the same growl from the creature that passed now coming from behind him. He then slowly looked behind him to see the monster getting closer to him.

He quickly turns back around and shrinks himself against the wall of the pedestal. He had saw that the monster had no nose nor eyes so it relied on touch and sound. Just as he was thinking about this, the monster then went over him and the pedestal. As it went over him he scooted to side so that the end of its tail wouldn't touch him.

The monster then made an uncomfortable roar that sounded like nails scratching on a chalkboard. Light then covered his ears from how loud it was. The monster then disappears into the forest leaving light alone in the ruins. Once it was gone, he got up using the pedestal as support as his legs felt weak after that. He then took a deep breath and thought to himself while looking to the sky.

(Where the hell am I?)

After taking a deep breath, he decides to finally leave the place. But while walking he steps on something that didn't feel like the stone ground. He took a step back and saw that it was a book.

For Neriah

This was the title of the book. Light was confused though. But he suddenly put some of the pieces together. He woke up in another person's body, and since this book is meant for a person named Neriah.

(This must mean that I'm Neriah.)

"Heh."

The more he thought about the more confusing it was. The body he's in now is named Neriah. He continued walking while thinking about this as well. As he continued thinking about this he then thought of something else.

"Neriah."

(I'm not much of a religious person but doesn't this name mean the "lamp of god" or something)

He then opened the book and there was about nothing in it.

"Huh?"

Light was a bit confused.

"Where are the words?"

He flipped through the pages until he got to the last page. The last page only had one word.

Qorbãn

"Qorbãn?"

Just as he said the words, a small yellow portal appears in front of him.

(What?)

He looked back at the word, Qorbãn

(Isn't that the meaning of sacrifice in Hebrew?)

He looked at the portal and back the word. He then thought that if the word meant sacrifice and this portal appears.

(Whoever made this book wants me to offer it to God?)

He closed the book and looked at it. He then thought that if it's like that then wouldn't god give something in return for this. He then puts the book in the portal as it disappears into the portal. He waited for a bit before a bottle filled with mysterious green liquid came out of it. He grabs it from the air as the portal then closes.

(A bottle filled with green liquid?)

He looked at it confused and concerned. He then opened it and sniffed it. He didn't really smell anything from it. He squinted his eyes in suspicion but he eventually stops this nonsense.

"Well, down the hatch."

He drunk the green liquid. It tasted like water and nothing really happened.

"Hm, guess It was for noth-"

He then starts to feel dizzy, extremely dizzy. He holds on to tree for leverage. Then suddenly everything fades to black.
