Have a good day :)

...

The person waiting for me on the other side of the loop was Bronwyn. Bronwyn was leaning against a rock wall, waiting with her arms crossed; probably waiting until I showed up.

"Good morning, Jacob!" – Bronwyn exclaimed almost immediately.

I didn't even have time to greet her myself, because Bronwyn saw me almost instantly as I went through the loop and she seemed quite excited today.

"Good morning. How are you today?" – I asked.

"The same as always. In the loop we never get sick. Our bodies also return to the state they were in the day before" - Bronwyn replied.

It's funny, but it makes all the sense in the world. Since the day resets, their bodies return to the state that were the day before. That is why they never age, because their bodies return to the state they were in the day before. However, the reason why they age three days after leaving the loop is simple and was explained in the books correctly. Even if the day restarts, that doesn't mean time will go backwards. Time continues to flow and the years continue to pass. That's why, when they come out of the loop for more than 3 days, they age all those years at once. That is an impediment for me because I would also like to show them the modern world sometime. However, I am not worried about that because I know perfectly well that the system will give me a solution in the future.

[I can't say yes, but neither do I deny it]

That's basically a "Yes" but in disguise.

[…]

"I know that for you it is still something new. But when you live here with us, you'll understand and get used to it soon. They all went through the same thing and now for them it is something normal. Even it took me a while to familiarize with all of this" - Bronwyn said.

She seemed quite happy to tell me that. It was probably because she knew I was going to stay with them. Seriously: Does it cause her so much happiness that I stay? I mean, it's normal to be excited, i am excited too, but I feel that for them that I stay means much more than for me. I don't know what those feelings are; but someday I'll find out.

"Without a doubt I will. By the way, what are we going to do today?" – I asked curiously.

"Unfortunately the rest of us have tasks to do today and I'm the only one who has the day off, so today you'll spend the day with me" - said Bronwyn.

Well, this is already too much of a coincidence. The first two times I might believe those words were true, but now I don't believe it anymore. I'm sure the girls have made some sort of agreement to go out with me for a day. Who will wait for me tomorrow inside the loop; Claire or maybe the twins?

"It's a shame. But spending the day with a beauty like you is a privilege. Do you have something in mind or shall we improvise on the fly?" – I said.

Hearing that Jacob called her "Beauty", her face flushed slightly, but she quickly pulled herself together. Today was a special day and she didn't want to waste time on nonsense. She had a lot of things prepared for today and wasting time blushing wasn't one of them.

"I'd really like you to come somewhere with me" - Bronwyn said.

"Of course. I follow you" – I nodded.

"Ok" – she nodded.

Then we started walking. And guess where? That's right, through the same forest as the previous days. Seriously, how big is this forest?

"Isn't this forest beautiful?" – Bronwyn asked as we walked.

"The truth is that yes. It's pretty pretty and the good weather makes it look even better" – I nodded.

I hadn't stopped to think about it. Well, with Emma I did it a little, but I never stopped to observe the true beauty of this forest.

"You're right. Miss Peregrine chose a day with a good weather to do the loop. Every day has great weather, perfect for doing any type of activity. Sometimes we have a picnic, other times we go to the beach and other times we just enjoy the day in our own way" – Bronwyn nodded.

"You really have a good time here" – I said.

"Very good. Every day is so much fun" - Bronwyn nodded.

It's a fantasy to think that these children have lived in this loop for dozens of years. That despite their appearances, they are even older than my recently deceased grandfather. It's funny to think that even putting together the age of my two lives, I don't even equal the age of little Claire. And it's also curious to think about how the loop affects to their personalities. They retain their youth forever, yes, but they also retain their personality and maturity. Their bodies don't mature and neither do they. They always stay the same, they can have free will and even do whatever they want, but they never mature and despite being much older than me; I am much more mature than any of those who are here. That's a fact. Of course I mean children, Miss Peregrine is an exception. That woman is equal to or even more intelligent than me and her maturity equals and even surpasses mine. In that sense, I admire her.

We continued walking through the forest, admiring its beauty, until we reached where I was with Fiona the day before, the greenhouse. But unlike yesterday when it was covered with flowers and fruit trees, today it was just as it was the day before when i saw it for the first time. Full of weeds to the top, completely ramshackle and without any beauty.

"This is Fiona's favorite place. Shee comes here many times and stays for hours. She thinks we don't know where she goes, but the reality is that one day we followed her and found out what she was doing" - Bronwyn explained.

"Yes. I was with her yesterday too. It was the place where... we became a couple" – I said.

Hearing that, Bronwyn frowned slightly. She didn't seem to like that comment too much or maybe it was just jealousy. A woman's mind is extremely complicated, and as a man, I will never understand it.

"Yes, Fiona already told me yesterday what happened between you and I congratulate you for it" – said Bronwyn.

She was smiling, but I suspected it wasn't a sincere smile.

Anyway, after taking one last look at the greenhouse that yesterday witnessed the beginning of our relationship, we continue walking.

We walked for a few more minutes until we finally reached the place where Bronwyn was supposed to take me.

"This is where I come when I want to be alone. What do you think?" - she asked.

It was a small lake. But the landscape around it seemed to come out of a dream. The water was crystal blue, so clear that you could see the smooth stones and small fish swimming beneath the surface. Reeds lined part of the lake, their green leaves fluttering gently in the breeze. The wildflowers in shades of white, purple and yellow, grew in small clusters, spreading their sweet aroma through the air. It was a fantastic sight, as if it had come out of a fictional film.

I could also observe that, in the distance, a couple of birds were singing with quiet melodies, harmonizing with the soft rustling of the leaves moved by the wind. The sun, overhead, made the water shine as if it were covered with tiny diamonds.

Near the shore of the lake, there was a smooth rock, but upside down. If it had been placed in another position, it would have been a perfect place for two people to sit.

"It's just perfect. How did you find this place?" – I said in amazement.

It was so amazing that I stared at it for a few seconds with my eyes wide open.

"I met it one day walking in the woods. Let's say that something happened to me that day... Pretty bad and I found it by chance. At that moment, this landscape captivated me. The place is completely calm, with nothing to disturb it. The fishes swim quietly and the birds sing without worrying about their surroundings. I love this place" - said Bronwyn.

Her gaze was quite melancholy as she looked at the beautiful surface of the water.

"Let's sit down for a while and enjoy the scenery" – she said suddenly.

"I agree. This landscape is worthy of being admired. But where do we sit?" – I said.

We could sit on the lakeshore, but we could get muddy or even wet, so it's not a good idea.

"There" – Bronwyn said pointing to a rock.

It was the rock I saw before.

"Don't you think it's a little awkward to sit there?" – I asked.

If I sit there, I'll end up with my ass destroyed.

"Don't be silly, Jacob. It's impossible to sit there; I'll just turn it around" – Bronwyn said.

And before I could say anything else, Bronwyn lifted the huge rock as if it were made of cardboard and turned it over, burying the awkward part in the ground and leaving only the smooth part; perfect for sitting. It is true that it was full of dirt, but it was better than getting muddy or wet.

"That has been incredible" – I said in amazement.

It's like watching a superhero movie or something. Watching her lift that huge stone like cardboard, it was like reliving those moments when I was watching Superman movies on my huge TV. But this was not fiction or a movie, but reality.

"Thank you very much" – Bronwyn said cheerfully.

The melancholy and perhaps sadness that Bronwyn had previously had, had been replaced by a sudden happiness, the fruit of Jacob's praise for her peculiarity. She was glad that Jacob liked her and didn't think she was a monster. Many years ago she was treated like that, like a monster, until that accident happened...
