A Saiyan's Journey

Chapter 142: The Matters of the Tohsaka Family

At Tohsaka Rin's request, Zuke had no choice but to go to the living room where Tohsaka Aoi was.

Although this was Tohsaka Aoi's first time meeting Zuke, she had already learned about his situation as a Servant from Tohsaka Rin.

Zuke offered psychological counseling to Tohsaka Aoi, stating that while crying is a natural human reaction, she must not let it overwhelm her. He reminded her that she still had a daughter to care for.

Tohsaka Aoi admitted that she understood her responsibility to care for her daughter, but the pressure was simply too much to bear.

As a family of magi, the Tohsaka family had some assets in Fuyuki City but largely relied on support from the Mage's Association. With Tohsaka Tokiomi as the family's magical pillar now gone, Aoi felt powerless to ensure that the Mage's Association would continue to support the family.

Zuke assured her that he had a way to secure the Mage's Association's backing until Tohsaka Rin matured into a capable magus herself.

However, Aoi doubted Zuke's promise. After all, he was just a Servant, and once the Holy Grail War ended, he would disappear, making it impossible for him to influence the living world further.

Faced with Aoi's doubts, Zuke chose to demonstrate his abilities in practical ways, proving that he had the power to influence the current world.

Ultimately, Aoi was convinced. Through personal experience, she came to understand Zuke's strength and was finally able to let go of the pain caused by Tokiomi's death.

For a mature woman who has recently experienced loss, the best way to heal is to find something to fill the void.

The specifics of how this happened are not suitable for public discussion.

...…..

"How is my mother doing, Berserker?"

Two hours later, Zuke returned to Tohsaka Rin's room, appearing refreshed.

Upon his return, he was met with Rin's concerned gaze. She had heard some commotion downstairs earlier. Unlike Aoi's silent sobbing, the noises this time had been quite noticeable, enough for Rin to pick up on them.

However, as a child, Rin didn't understand what the sounds truly meant.

While she was precocious in magic, her knowledge of other matters was no different from that of an average child. She even thought that her mother, overwhelmed with grief, might have lashed out at Zuke during his attempt to comfort her.

Despite knowing her mother's gentle nature and Zuke's obvious strength, Rin's worry clouded her judgment. After all, one was her only family left, and the other was her sole support. She didn't want anything to happen to either of them.

"Ahem. Don't worry, Miss Aoi has calmed down and is now resting peacefully," Zuke coughed lightly, brushing aside any awkwardness. Though the process had been nuanced, he felt he had fulfilled his mission.

Of course, the "peaceful rest" had a multifaceted implication.

During the process of comforting Aoi, Zuke had also promised to help secure the Mage's Association's continued support for the Tohsaka family. It seemed he would have to visit the Mage's Association soon.

Although he was a Servant in this world, Zuke wasn't a magus and didn't know how to approach the Mage's Association. He figured he would need Waver Velvet to guide him since Waver was a student of the Clock Tower, the Mage's Association headquarters.

Zuke planned to use the same methods he used to control Kiryu and others in the real world to place a leash on the higher-ups of the Mage's Association.

Magicians of the Association might have all sorts of tricks up their sleeves, but they couldn't see his Stand. Even if they were skilled in brain surgery, it would be useless against his abilities.

With this, he believed the Mage's Association would not only continue but potentially increase their support for the Tohsaka family.

As for Kirei Kotomine, who managed the Tohsaka family's finances in the original story…

Zuke figured Kotomine wouldn't survive the Fourth Holy Grail War, so it was better to arrange an alternative path for the Tohsaka family through the Mage's Association.

He imagined Matou Sakura would be delighted to accompany him to the Clock Tower when the time came.

"Really? How did you manage that?"

Rin was surprised, her doubts vanishing as she saw Zuke's earnest demeanor. She relaxed but remained curious.

Although she had asked Zuke to comfort her mother, her request was more out of desperation to rely on the only person she could trust at that moment.

Now that Zuke had truly calmed her mother down, Rin was naturally curious about how he had done it.

"That's not something you need to worry about. What matters is that your mother has moved on from your father's shadow," Zuke said with a faint smirk, refusing to mislead a child.

Such matters could wait until Rin was older.

"Also, I'll handle the issue with the Mage's Association. You and your mother can leave that to me."

"Who's leaving it to you?" Rin retorted, pushing Zuke playfully. Despite her pout, Zuke could tell she was relieved.

Though young, Rin's mental fortitude was stronger than that of many adults.

"Berserker, are you heading out again tonight? Let me come with you!"
