A Tyrant In Dc

Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Three Years Later

We see a boy sitting alone at a cafeteria table, a tray of untouched food in front of him, and his eyes glued to his phone. This was Allen. He had changed a lot over the past three years—not physically, of course. He still looked like a kid. But mentally? Let's just say he wasn't the same Allen who had nervously walked into this school on day one.

His status screen hovered in front of him:

Level: 4

EXP: 567/1000

HP: 175/175

Abilities: Locked

Shop: Locked

He frowned at the screen. "Why does this system give so little EXP?" he muttered under his breath. "At this rate, I'll be old enough to actually belong in this school before I hit level five."

He leaned back in his chair, thinking about everything that had happened over the past three years. Reaching level four had been a turning point. The system informed him that his physical strength now rivaled that of a two-time boxing and UFC champion. When he first heard that, he thought, "What's the point of having strength with no skills? What am I supposed to do, arm wrestle my problems away?"

That's when he discovered the system's hidden gem: the Training Feature. It was almost identical to a famous manhwa he'd read in his past life, where a certain character's nanomachines could perfectly train his body. Except, in Allen's case, it wasn't nanomachines—it was a hyper-optimized training program that pushed his body to its limits without ever risking injury.

With the system's help, he signed up for everything: boxing, judo, military training, shooting, and even some random self-defense classes that the school offered. In just five months, he went from being a total newbie to absolutely dominating his dojo. He defeated every master and crushed the competition in local tournaments, earning himself a reputation as a prodigy. Of course, no one knew about the system guiding him every step of the way.

Still, he found it weird that the school even offered gun training to kids. "That's Gotham for you," he thought with a wry smile.

As he reminisced, he felt a tap on his shoulder. He turned to see Marcus and Caleb, the two brothers he had begrudgingly grown close to over the years. Marcus was still tall and lanky, while Caleb had filled out and now looked more like a mini-linebacker.

"Yo, Allen," Marcus said, sliding into the seat next to him. "You're looking moody today. What's up?"

"Nothing," Allen replied, putting his phone away. "Just thinking about life."

Caleb snorted. "You're seven—or, wait, ten now. What life?"

Allen smirked. "More life than you'd understand."

He liked to call them "the opposites." Caleb, despite being the stockier one, was surprisingly the brains of the duo, always coming up with plans that worked more often than they should. Marcus, on the other hand, looked lanky and weak, but the guy could lift weights that made Allen question his understanding of physics.

After a little more banter, the bell rang, signaling the end of lunch. Allen grabbed his bag and headed to the bus stop. His ride back home wasn't exactly luxurious. He lived in the crack-house district of Gotham, where broken windows and stolen belongings were a daily occurrence.

When he got home, he noticed his front window was shattered, and several items were missing. Again. He sighed, stepping over the broken glass. This wasn't just a robbery—it was a message. The junkies in his neighborhood were getting bolder, and he was getting tired of it.

The system chimed in. New Quest: Conquer Your District.

Objective: Eliminate the junkies and secure your territory.

Reward: 300 EXP + ???

For the first time, Allen saw a reward with question marks. His interest was piqued.

A bonus quest appeared underneath:

Bonus Objective: Deal with the people who broke into your house.

Reward: 20 EXP.

Allen accepted both quests without hesitation. "It's about time I cleaned up this dump," he muttered, cracking his knuckles. A one-month timer appeared in his vision, counting down to his deadline. He grinned, feeling a spark of excitement for the first time in a long while.

This was going to be fun.
