Chapter 53 - Volume 4
*Chirp, Chirp.*
“Jin, wake up.”
“Mmm…”
When I slowly opened my eyes, it seemed like I had been sleeping on my side, and in front of me was Mea’s face resting on a pillow. Mea also seemed to have just woken up, with slightly drowsy eyes.
It’s the first time I’ve casually seen Mea’s sleepy face.
Her face was so fresh and cute that I couldn’t help but gently kiss her while caressing her cheek. Mea didn’t resist and naturally accepted it.
“Mmm, good morning, Jin.”
“Good morning, Mea.”
After greeting Mea, I gently got up. I had been wondering if what happened last night was just a dream, but seeing Mea in her natural state made me realize that it was indeed real.
I never would have imagined that I would cross that line with Mea. Is this what they call the “morning after” that all those guys experience?
Just thinking about it makes me embarrassed, but it was incredibly amazing. It was so pleasurable… How did I miss out on this in my past life?
“Jin… How should I address you from now on?”
As I was thinkinh about our actions from the previous night, Mea suddenly asked. She was probably unsure whether to call me Jin-sama or just Jin.
“Since I haven’t told anyone about what happened, please call me Jin-sama when we’re not alone.”
“Got it. Well then… since it’s just the two of us right now, I’ll call you Jin.”
Mea said that with a bright smile.
…She’s incredibly cute. Seriously, it’s not fair how her cuteness multiplies just by talking to me naturally when she usually uses formal language.
“Hey… Jin.”
“Hm? What’s up?”
Mea looked a bit shy but with hopeful eyes, she asked, “Are we dating?”
I froze upon hearing those words.
…I did say I love her, but come to think of it, I never actually asked her to be my girlfriend.
Alright!
Yesterday, Mea gathered the courage. Today, it’s my turn to ask her out!
“Me-Mea!”
“What’s the matter, Jin?”
I closed my eyes once, took a deep breath, and then spoke up.
“Wi-will you marry me?”
…Wait, did I just completely mess that up? I misspoke, didn’t I?
As I internally panicked, Mea smiled softly and hugged me tightly, then whispered in my ear, “with pleasure…”

“Hey Jin, why don’t we make our own home?”
“A home?”
After I nervously proposed with “Will you marry me?” and she accepted, Mea suddenly brought this up.
“Yeah. Since we’re getting married, I don’t think we need to stay in this house. Plus, both of us can use [Teleport], so it shouldn’t be a problem if our living places are a bit apart.”
Hmm… that does make sense.
When I marry Mea, we’ll definitely be living together, so it might be a good idea.
“Alright, if we’ve decided on that, should we start looking for a house? Oh, but do we have enough money?”
Not too long ago, we were facing financial difficulties due to my recklessness, and Mea had to work to make ends meet… Is everything okay now?
Well, in case things go south, I can always spend a day defeating strong monsters and selling their materials.
“I have a lot of reward money from when we protected Cynthia-sama, and I also have materials from monsters that haven’t been sold yet. So, we won’t have money problems,” Mea reassured me.
That was a relief. I wondered why she hadn’t mentioned the reward money until now – probably because I tend to spend it too quickly. From now on, I needed to be more responsible with our finances and not burden Mea.
With this decision in mind, as I was about to get out of bed to start preparing, Mea came up from behind and embraced me.
“…Could we stay like this a little longer… please?” she asked, looking up at me with a small, tender voice.
Mea, who had never been demanding or expressed such desires before, was now sweetly making a request. It felt amazing, like this world had turned into paradise.
“Of course, let’s stay like this until you’re ready,” I replied gently.
“…Mmm… Thank you,” Mea whispered, and I gently held my adorable wife in return.
