Chapter 57
“Are you ready?”
Mea peeked her head through the door, looking somewhat childlike and adorable.
By “ready,” she was referring to the preparations for our journey back to her homeland, the Elf village. The entrance to our kingdom’s Spirit Forest was quite distant from there, and it was inhabited by monsters, making it a multi-day journey. Going empty-handed was out of the question.
There were monsters around that even I would struggle against.
“Oh, yes. I’ve also informed Rud and the others about what they need to do.”
I replied while I enjoyed the sight of Mea’s cute antics.
By “what they need to do,” I meant that we asked Rud and the others to assist us with the original plot.
School was about to resume in two weeks, and there was a chance I might not be able to return in that time. So, just to be safe, I asked Rud for help.
In the original story,a powerful organisation called the “Demon Clan” had infiltrated the academy, they were far stronger than any humans. They secretly assassinated talented individuals, regardless of whether they were students or teachers. Ideally the headmaster/principal should’ve dealt with this situation but that old man was busy with the next main event of the plot.
“Well, I’ve kind of dumped it all on them,” I admitted.
“Is that okay? I mean, with the Demon Clan infiltrating and all?” Mea asked, showing concern.
“Yeah, but I’ve given Rud and the others ‘Teleportation Stones’ just in case things get dicey. I’m sure the teachers will protect the rest,” I reassured her.
Mea’s kindness, even when it wasn’t her concern, touched me. Honestly, I couldn’t help but think that as long as Rud and Sasha were safe, I didn’t really care about the others.
However, I was still feeling anxious about it. I had accidentally made the story progress faster by a year, all these events should’ve happened next year. Perhaps multiple members of the Demon Clan might appear this year and the next story arc could begin simultaneously. Honestly, my knowledge of the original plot was getting less reliable now.
During this past week, I had been focusing on strengthening Rud and the others. Thanks to that, they were now capable of holding their own in battles as long as I didn’t go all out.
“Rud and the others have gotten stronger, so you don’t need to worry. Let’s first figure out how we’re going to enter the Elven village,” I said.
“Yeah, you’re right,” Mea replied.
However, there was still a significant concern: Mea was currently in a semi-exiled state, so it was uncertain whether she would be allowed entry into her own village. Furthermore, there was a human like me in the group. It was unclear how the Elf villagers, who were known for their disdain toward humans, would react.
“Jin, I will definitely make everyone accept you,” Mea declared, clenching her fist in front of her chest.
With that said, I was getting a bit nervous as we were about to visit Mea’s family. What should I say to them?
“Alright, let’s go,” Mea said with a smile as she took my hand and opened the front door.

[Wind Blade!]
*Slash!*
I cut through the Goblin King, who was blocking our path, into two halves.
As we ventured deeper into the Spirit Forest, after about two hours, stronger monsters that were immune to the [Monster Evasion] item began to appear. In front of us now was a horde of Goblin Generals and Kings. However, to be honest, they were not our concern.
“I can’t let them get closer to Jin!”
“Mea, you’re incredible.”
“In a forest battle, there’s no one who can match an Elf.”
Indeed, that was true. Elves had spent centuries hunting monsters in the forest.
I followed behind the dependable Mea as she effortlessly dispatched the Goblin Generals and Kings with her magical short sword.
