Chapter 62: Wanda In Black Silk Stockings, Ch 31.1
On the streets of Central Avenue, New York.
"It's nothing, just contact me when you have some free time."
Hode was sitting against the door of his Cayenne, casually shaking his phone.
This was already the third beautiful woman who had approached him, asking to add him on Facebook.
He couldn't help but marvel at the allure of a nice car.
Ding ling!
His phone vibrated in his hand.
[Wanda]: Hode, when will you be free?
Seeing the message, Hode's lips curled up slightly; she was really eager.
[Hode]: You little tease, do you want to see me that badly?
[Wanda]: Stop joking! When are you free? I need to reserve a table.
Meanwhile, Wanda was in her room, feeling troubled as she looked at her deep red clothes in the wardrobe.
The moment she saw the message, her cheeks flushed slightly, making her squirm a little.
Hode hesitated for a moment, then tapped on his phone.
[Hode]: How about 8 PM?
[Wanda]: Sounds good! Let's meet at Saint Ise Restaurant tonight!
[Hode]: Alright.
After replying, Wanda's lips curved into a smile as she hummed a tune softly.
Looking at the array of clothes, her gaze finally settled on a lace half-transparent top.
...
"Hode, sir!"
Just as Hode was about to put his phone away after responding to the message, he felt a tap on his right shoulder.
Turning around, he found it was the adorable Gwen.
Noticing her outfit, he was momentarily taken aback.
With her fair skin, Gwen was wearing a perfectly tailored pure white shirt today.
The slightly open collar revealed her slender, snow-white neck. Her short hair was smooth like silk, showcasing her charm without losing her femininity, further highlighting her pale complexion.
The thin shirt hinted slightly at her figure, drawing Hode's appreciative gaze toward her graceful shape.
Although her figure wasn't as explosive as Wanda's, her youthful cuteness was undeniably alluring.
"You're here?"
While Hode's heart raced internally, he maintained a calm exterior and casually tucked his phone into his pocket.
"What was Hode doing earlier? You seemed quite absorbed."
In fact, Gwen had noticed from a distance that it looked like Hode was engrossed in replying to messages.
"It's nothing, just arranging some plans for tonight."
Hode spoke nonchalantly, his gaze steady as he changed the subject: "By the way, your outfit looks great today!"
As expected, Gwen perked up at his compliment and twirled around with a delighted expression.
She bent slightly, showcasing her figure.
Today, she had spent over an hour just picking out her clothes for this date.
Seeing Gwen's beauty, Hode couldn't help but think she was a walking clothes hanger, effortlessly managing any style.
"What happened to Mr. Stacey?"
Hode cleared his throat, shifting his gaze away.
While good wine is delightful, one must not overindulge.
"Thanks to you, Hode, Dad is back to the way he used to be, and he can return to the police department!"
Gwen's face lit up with excitement when she mentioned this.
After confirming there were no issues yesterday, her father couldn't wait to test out his firearm upon arriving home.
Moreover, the police department agreed to have him back on duty.
For her father, this was the best news he could get.
"By the way, where shall we eat?"
Since it was Gwen who was treating today, Hode didn't make a reservation.
"Can we walk around outside first?"
For some reason, Gwen didn't answer Hode's question and instead blinked her big eyes, clasping her hands behind her back.
Hode glanced at his watch and nodded slightly: "I'm all yours."
It was only six in the evening, and if planned properly, they had time.
"Come with me!"
Gwen beamed, taking Hode's hand and quickly leading him forward.
When she made that gesture, her cheeks warmed slightly, yet she didn't let go of his hand.
Holding Hode's hand, she led him through several streets to a forest park.
It was autumn, and the park was filled with a multitude of maple trees.
The sunlight filtered through the leaves, casting the Tyndall effect, with beams of light illuminating the ground covered with fallen maple leaves.
The yellow leaves formed a forest, and under the setting sun, the two walked on the accumulated foliage, creating a rustling sound.
They sat on a wooden bench in the park, watching the sun slowly descend on the horizon.
