Amon, The lowest tier disciple in the Insanity Sect

Chapter 45: New technique

The cheers from my victory still rang in my ears as I made my way off the arena, feeling a strange mix of pride and panic. Leeon was already waiting for me, leaning casually against a post, looking as unbothered as always.

"Nice job out there," Leeon said, his smirk looking like he'd just watched a comedy show.

I shot him a half-hearted glare. "Yeah, well, I'm just getting warmed up."

"Warmed up for what? Getting crushed by your next opponent?" Leeon raised an eyebrow.

"Crushed? Come on, don't be so dramatic," I said, trying not to think too hard about the next match. "I'll be fine. Probably."

"Probably's not enough," Leeon said, grinning. "You'll need more than just probably to survive Bai Hong."

"Bai Hong?" I winced. "Seriously?"

"Yep, the one and only," Leeon said with a shrug. "Good luck. You'll need it."

Before I could reply, the announcer's voice boomed over the arena. "Next match: Amon versus Bai Hong!"

I stared at the ring. Bai Hong was a walking muscle festival. He had the aura of someone who'd eaten too many protein bars and worked out a little too much. His fists crackled with enough energy to flatten a house, and his smile was pure trouble.

"Great," I muttered, rubbing the back of my neck. "This is going to be fun."

I made my way to the ring, my legs suddenly feeling like they were made of jelly. Bai Hong was already there, cracking his knuckles like he was about to demolish something probably me.

"You ready to lose?" he asked, his grin widening.

"Uh, well, if I lose, that's your problem," I said, trying to keep my cool. "I've got a very important nap waiting for me afterward."

Bai Hong narrowed his eyes. "You're going to need more than just jokes to stop me."

The gong rang, and Bai Hong charged like a bull on a caffeine binge. I barely had time to blink before his fists were flying at me, glowing with fiery red energy. I dodged the first swing just in time, but the second one almost took my head off.

"Maybe I should've paid more attention in martial arts class," I muttered, already scrambling backward.

Bai Hong didn't stop. He was like a freight train, barreling at me with no sign of slowing down. I was starting to think maybe I should've stayed home and binge-watched something instead of signing up for this mess.

As his fists came crashing toward me again, I had a thought I should probably do something other than running away.

I quickly focused on my katana and thought of a technique. If i can decrease my weight with gravitation magic then I could be able to travel super fast. I thought of a name Flash Step. "Haha, just like bleach" I thought.

I activated the technique, and poof I vanished.

Bai Hong froze for a second, eyes darting around like a confused cat. "Where'd you go?"

I reappeared right behind him, grinning. "I'm right here."

With a quick swing, I aimed for his back. Bai Hong, however, was surprisingly fast. He spun around and blocked my strike like he was swatting away a fly.

"Is that it?" he sneered. "You'll have to do better than that."
