"I refuse!!"

The roar echoed throughout the warehouse, causing Link's ears to buzz.

Vander frantically swung his claws, the sharp tips slicing through the air and emitting a piercing shriek.

"Hey!" Link called out. "Vander, calm down!"

"How can I calm down? My daughter, my Vi... has found herself a girlfriend!"

"How am I supposed to face her mother? How do I explain this to her mother?"

"No way! I won't allow it!"

Vander's reaction caught Link off guard. But thinking it over, it was understandable; his little girl hadn't just been with some wild boar from another family—she was now playing house with another girl!

This was something no father could accept.

Seeing Vander's reaction, Link glanced at Janna, who had shrunk back slightly. The effect of his provocation was indeed too powerful; even she found it hard to calm Vander down.

Moreover, Vander had just regained his humanity; the long-suppressed beastly instincts and accumulated pain from experiments made him desperate to vent.

"Well, it looks like I'll need to use some physical methods." Link clenched his left hand and twisted his wrist, activating the mechanism that caused spikes to protrude from his knuckles while silver electric sparks crackled around them.

As he stepped forward, Link's fist landed squarely on Vander's chest.

Under the intense electric shock, Vander let out a painful roar.

The electric current surged through his body, causing hot smoke to billow from his mouth.

Almost instinctively, Vander swung his right arm with its alchemical enhanced steel claw at Link.

Without even looking, Link anticipated the attack by the sound of the wind. He crouched low and quickly moved behind Vander, wrapping an arm around his neck while pressing the electrified spikes against Vander's throat, eliciting another painful cry.

With weakened legs, Vander dropped to his knees, supporting himself with his arms. Link released his fist, retracting the spikes and stopping the electric flow.

"How about now? Are you calm?"

Vander panted heavily as he looked up at Link standing before him. "Who are you?"

"Uh—" Link removed his helmet and fixed his tousled hair before extending a hand toward Vander. "Link, Link Star."

"I don't remember knowing you." Vander glanced at Link's hand. As he tried to extend his right arm, he noticed its abnormality and quickly switched to his left arm.

"It's fine; we can get to know each other slowly." Link pulled Vander up. "Now let's talk about your daughters."

"How are Vi and Jinx doing?" Vander asked anxiously.

Link pressed a palm down on Vander's shoulder. "Shh! Don't get too worked up!"

"The situation with your daughters is quite complicated—" Link pondered for a moment before continuing: "Where should I start?"

"Start from the beginning." Vander sat cross-legged on the ground. His face was no longer as hideous as before; he seemed more alive than when he had first regained humanity.

This was all thanks to Janna!

"I have plenty of time to digest all this," Vander paused and raised his right arm. "And everything that has happened to me!"

"Alright then; let's take it slow."

Link recounted everything that had transpired between Vi and Jinx. After hearing it all, Vander fell silent while guilt washed over him.

Once Link finished speaking, Vander clutched his head tightly with claws digging into his flesh.

"It's all my fault! It's because I wasn't there for them that everything turned out so badly!"

"It's all my mistake!"

"Back then with Silco it was like this; now with Vi and Jinx it's still like this!"

"It's all because of me! If only I could—" At this point in his lamentation, Link stepped forward and pressed down on Vander's shoulder softly. "It's not too late, Vander. It's not too late."

Vander stopped muttering and looked up at Link.

"You—"

"Vander! I have a plan—a plan that can lead Vi and Jinx towards a future that is completely different from now!"

Link extended a hand toward Vander. "So what do you say? Are you interested?"

After a few seconds of silence, Vander reached out with his left hand and grasped Link's hand firmly.

"What do you need me to do?"

"That can wait; first let's meet the other members of our gang!" As Link spoke, Janna landed on his head and gave him an annoyed peck on the forehead. "What do you mean by 'gang'? It's clearly a team!"

"Hey! Isn't that more relatable?"

"I think it sounds more like a prison gang!" Janna rolled her eyes.

The talking bluebird reminded Vander of past memories and legends.

"You are... you... Janna!" Realizing that the bluebird before him was a divine embodiment left him speechless. "Oh my god! I thought... I... oh my god!"

"Child of Zaun—" Janna flew from atop Link's head to hover in front of Vander, spreading her wings as she gently stroked his head. "I have always been by your side!"

"Janna...."

Vander gazed at Janna with reverence and longing as she turned her head toward Link with wide eyes.

"See? This is how a true follower should act! Look at you—what kind of divine being would allow their goddess to run errands?"

Link rolled his eyes; if this were in his past life, he wouldn't just have her run errands—he'd probably have set her up as a live-streaming personal assistant!

People in his past life were notoriously lazy!

Even if Janna helped someone in their past life turn off their lights before bed, she'd probably make a fortune off it!

"Janna is an integral part of our gang and also the most important one. All our future actions will revolve around Janna!"

Link explained softly as Vander bowed his head toward Janna. "It is my utmost honor to serve you, my goddess!"

"Child!" Feeling Vander's sincere faith in her, Janna summoned forth a gentle breeze that surrounded him. "The winds of change are with you!"

"And the other member!" Link gestured toward Singed who nervously approached Vander.

Upon seeing Singed for the first time, Vander wrinkled his nose in disgust. "Singed!!!"

"Vander! It's good to see you awake again," Singed said awkwardly while Link cleared his throat. "I won't meddle in your grievances; I just hope that within our gang you both can exercise some restraint!"

Vander glared fiercely at Singed for a moment before turning away.

He harbored profound hatred for this man who had transformed him into what he was now.

"With Janna as my witness—I'll settle accounts with you later!"

Singed remained silent while Link addressed Vander: "You've just awakened; stabilizing your state is most important right now. For these days focus on praying to Janna in the workshop while providing faith for her so she can help suppress your beastly instincts and stabilize your mind—striving to meet your daughters in the best mental state possible."

At the mention of his daughters, Vander's expression softened.

"I will."

"Then what about you?" Janna shot an annoyed look at Link. "What are you going to do?"

"Me?" Link smiled. "I have plenty on my plate!"

"The evaluation meeting is about to commence; this concerns our blueprint for the future—it cannot be missed."

"But before that, I need to buy some time for Piltover and Zaun to eliminate any potential conflicts or tensions!"

"How do you plan on doing that?" Singed asked curiously about Link's plan.

"It's simple: go straight for the council and influence all of Piltover!"

"Doctor! I need your help researching a potion that can restore sensation to those with paralyzed legs while I'll craft an exoskeleton based on your potion to resolve issues for one council member!"

"At the same time—I'll help reunite another council member with their family!"

As Link spoke here, excitement sparkled in his eyes.

But before he could continue speaking, an alert from his mailbox floated before him.
