Chapter 27: Restricted From Going Out:
Satoru woke up, his hand reaching out to the empty side of the bed. Frowning, he sat up and glanced around the room. "Where'd you go?" he muttered, slipping on a shirt and heading to the door.
Spotting two maids in the hallway, he called out, "Where is my wife?"
They stopped, bowing. "In the dressing room, sir," one replied.
Without a word, Satoru turned and headed toward the dressing room, his footsteps silent as he moved swiftly through the hallways, curiosity flickering in his eyes.
Satoru entered the dressing room, spotting you admiring yourself in the mirror, adjusting your dress with a soft smile.
Noticing him through the mirror, you turned and beamed. "Good morning, hubby!" you greeted cheerfully.
He smirked, leaning against the doorframe. "Looking good," he remarked.
You smiled brightly, but beneath the surface, the bitterness of his betrayal with Utahime lingered.
Satoru leaned in to kiss your neck, but you quickly dodged.
He pulled back, raising an eyebrow. "What was that?"
Your eyes widened, then you forced a smile. "Oh, nothing! I almost tripped on the carpet," you said lightly, waving it off.
Satoru glanced down at the floor, then back at you, a frown forming. "But there's no carpet on the floor."
You froze, your gaze following his to the smooth tiles. Almost breaking a sweat, you scrambled for an excuse. "Oh! I just remembered—I need to get my makeup done!" you blurted, your voice overly cheerful.
Before he could respond, you hurried past him, your steps quick and deliberate as you left the room.
Satoru stood there, watching you go, irritation flashing in his eyes. His suspicion grew as he muttered to himself, "What's going on with her?"
A few minutes later, you sat in front of the mirror, your makeup flawlessly done. The elegant, rich look you'd achieved made you smile with satisfaction. As you admired yourself, your thoughts drifted to Utahime, your mind already crafting the sharp words you'd hurl at her when you saw her.
The door suddenly creaked open, and Satoru stepped into the bedroom, his gaze locking on you. He leaned casually against the doorframe, his expression curious. "Why are you all dressed up?" he asked, his tone laced with suspicion.
You paused for a moment, your thoughts racing. If I tell him I'm planning to go out, he'll definitely try to stop me, you thought, glancing at his curious, slightly suspicious expression.
Satoru snapped his fingers, cutting through the silence. "Yes, I'm asking you."
Your eyes widened. "I just wanted to look pretty today!"
He raised an eyebrow. "For what reason?"
"For no reason... just for fun, or self-love!" you quickly added.
Satoru smirked. "Too bad. You failed to seduce me with that look," he said, turning and walking toward the door.
Fuming, you shouted, "Hey! I wasn't trying to seduce you! I dressed up for myself!"
Satoru paused, glancing back with a grin. "Sure you did," he teased, before walking out, leaving you irritated and flustered.
As Satoru closed the door behind him, he gave it a side-eye, his expression deepening with suspicion. Suspicious of her, but I'll take care of it, he thought to himself. With a quiet, determined nod, he turned and walked away, leaving the tense silence to linger in the room.
Satoru, fully dressed in a sharp coat, cologne, and all the manly details, made his way downstairs. As he reached the bottom, he called out in a voice loud enough to echo upstairs, "Wifey, I'm leaving!"
Hearing him, you quickly ran downstairs, your movements light and cute. The sight of you brought a smile to Satoru's face, one that didn't go unnoticed. The maids nearby saw his smile, exchanging knowing looks before they too couldn't help but smile at the scene unfolding before them.
You tilted your head cutely, your eyes bright as you asked, "Where are you going?"
Satoru smiled softly and tugged a strand of your hair behind your ear, his gaze locking with yours. "To see my father. I've got some business with him today."
You smiled and nodded, "Alright. When are you returning home?"
Satoru's hand gently caressed your cheek with his thumb as he thought for a moment. Hmm... "I can't really tell, sweetheart. But I might be late today. Forgive hubby for that."
You kept your smile in place, not letting it fade, and said, "Alright. Drive safe."
Satoru leaned closer, his hand gently gripping your chin as he looked at you with a glint in his eye. "Don't you dodge the kiss this time," he murmured before quickly pressing his lips to yours, the kiss brief but filled with purpose.
As Satoru's lips met yours, your eyes widened in surprise, and a blush instantly spread across your cheeks. You were caught off guard by the sudden kiss, your heart racing.
After he pulled away, he patted your head with a confident smile and turned toward the door. "See ya, wifey," he said, waving his hand before walking out with the guards.
Embarrassment flooded you as you looked over to the maids, who were giggling quietly, glancing at you with teasing smiles. You could feel their eyes on you, and you couldn't help but think to yourself, He really is pro at being a playboy!
You stood by the window, watching as Satoru's car disappeared down the driveway, a sense of quiet lingering in the air. After a moment, you opened the Uber app on your phone, preparing to call a cab to pick you up. As you walked toward the door, ready to head out, the maids quickly gathered in front of you, shaking their heads softly.
Confused, you raised an eyebrow and asked, "What's going on?"
The maid who stood closest to you, the one at the front, spoke gently. "I'm afraid you may be restricted from going out, my lady."
A wave of irritation bubbled up inside you, and you snapped, "What? Why so? I am your lady, so move."
The maids only gathered closer, their faces serious. "My lady, Master has ordered us to keep you in."
The annoyance inside you boiled, but you took a deep breath, forcing yourself to calm down. You closed your eyes for a moment, shaking off the rising frustration, and then looked back at the maids with a steady gaze. "We can keep it a secret. I'll be back in no time—before he returns, so he won't find out."
The maids exchanged worried glances before one of them spoke gently, "We're worried we cannot help you with that, lady. There are guards outside—they're loyal to Master."
You fumed with anger, stomping your foot as you dropped the phone to the ground, shouting, "Who the hell does he think he is to control my life like this?!"
Meanwhile, in the car, Satoru's mind wandered, focused on his plan for the day. After seeing his father at the office, he was looking forward to meeting up with Utahime, thoughts of their conversation and the deal they were about to make swirling in his head.
💌Suguru, tell me about it once again.
