As a Symbiote in Marvel multiverse

Chapter 32: Waves of change

Peter sat calmly before the group, a faint smile playing on his lips. "I am a symbiotic being," he began. "I need a host to survive in this world. I was once human, but that changed a sometime ago."

The room fell silent as Peter explained how his race had been transformed and elaborated on some of his powers.

Curiosity sparked in Hank's eyes. "So, your entire race was changed from human into symbiotic beings by an alien force?" His inner scientist was now fully engaged.

"Yes," Peter replied. "And because of the symbiote's properties, I can cure diseases, known and unknown to mankind. The symbiote's ability to manipulate DNA on a molecular level is unparalleled."

Hank's excitement was palpable as he launched into a barrage of questions, which Peter answered with measured calmness. The two began discussing DNA manipulation and how Peter's abilities could potentially reshape human biology.

Meanwhile, Erik remained silent, unsure of what to say, and Raven leaned back in her chair, clearly nursing a headache from all this new information. Alex observed quietly with sharp gaze.

After some time, Charles spoke, "I assume you bonded with Jean the moment you arrived here?"

Peter nodded. "Yes."

Alex and Hank exchanged a glance, finally understanding Jean's unusual protectiveness toward Peter.

Charles continued with firmer voice now. "And now that you've absorbed Apocalypse, you've gained his powers along with your own. Is that correct?"

The tension in the room skyrocketed. All eyes turned to Peter, who remained calm and collected.

"Yes," he replied simply.

The weight of that confirmation settled over the group. Apocalypse's power alone had been nearly impossible to contain. Coupled with Peter's abilities, it made him a force they weren't prepared to confront.

Charles leaned forward while locking eyes with Peter. "Now, tell me, Peter. What do you plan to do here, in this world?"

Peter met his gaze evenly, "I plan to live here for a while. I've made some... friends here. But if you're worried about me turning into Apocalypse, don't. I want to live peacefully while training my strength. If the military or governments don't provoke me, I won't bother with them. But..." He smirked while leaning back. "I've already sent them a message. And they've responded."

"What did you do?" Raven demanded.

Peter's smile widened. "During the past two days, I wasn't idle. Apart from testing my new powers, I telepathically contacted every political leader in the world. I warned them—if they make enemies of mutants, entire human populations will vanish without even knowing how. I also told them to keep their dogs on a leash.

"However," he added, "I promised that if mutants misuse their powers for violence, they are free to deal with them as they see fit. But if they harm innocent mutants or people in retaliation, the consequences will be devastating."

The room was stunned into silence.

"You shook the entire world," Erik muttered with a mix of admiration and concern.

Peter shrugged. "Sometimes fear is the fastest way to build a bridge. Strength and the willingness to enforce it do the rest."

Charles narrowed his eyes. "That's not how—"

Peter cut him off. "Come on, Professor. I didn't destroy anything or hurt anyone. I've simply created a foundation. It's up to everyone now—mutants and humans alike—to decide whether to use this bridge to coexist."

He paused and continued in soft tone, "I even have plans to create an island for mutants, protected by the strongest shields I can muster. But that's for the future."

He looked at everyone, "They also know what's best for them and are planning to put the credit of putting Apocalypse down to mutants. They even plan to make contact with you Professor to discuss working together in the future. To contain threats and problems that humans can't."

That surprised everyone in the room.

Raven is initially worried that humans may strike back but if what Peter saying is true then maybe they can make a difference. They can work together. Then, finally a day will be where mutants and humans coexist.

Erik is more interested in the idea of creating a seperate island for Mutants with protective sheild. He plans to discuss about this with Peter alone later. After finding he now has a son, he plans to do anything he can keep them safe.

Hank and Charles are thinking what the reactions of people will be like.

Peter then stood up and preparing to leave. He stopped at the door and turned back, with serious expression, "Also one last thing. If you don't provoke me, I'll be your greatest ally. But if you do..."

His voice dropped and his eyes glowed faintly. "I'll be your worst nightmare."

The chilling promise sent shivers through everyone in the room.

Then, just as suddenly, Peter smiled brightly. "Later, guys," he said casually opening the door and stepping out, leaving the group in a state of uneasy silence.

The sudden and mysterious telepathic message sent by Peter had sent shockwaves through the world's political and social structures.

Politicians, military leaders, and influential figures found themselves reeling from the same chilling warning: provoke mutants, and humanity would face its end.

For two days, high-level meetings were held behind closed doors. Governments across the globe debated how to approach this unprecedented situation. The destruction caused by Apocalypse and the subsequent battle that had saved the world were fresh in everyone's minds.

In Washington, the White House briefing room was packed with officials. A senator addressed the gathering:

"This... Guy has made his point clear. He's not a dictator, but he's also not a man to cross. The fact that mutants stopped the Apocalypse-level threat speaks volumes about their potential. We must tread carefully here."

A younger aide dared to speak. "But his message wasn't all threatening. He spoke of coexistence. Of mutants working for peace, provided we don't provoke them."

Another official, older and more seasoned, slammed his fist on the table. "Peace through fear! That's what this is! He's forcing our hand!"

"No," interjected a calm voice from the back of the room. It was a female ambassador from Asia. "He's offering us a choice. Mutants saved the world from Apocalypse—an entity that could have wiped out humanity entirely. This guy is giving us a chance to change how we've treated mutants, to show we can coexist."

Murmurs spread through the room. The destruction caused by Apocalypse was fresh in their minds. Buildings reduced to rubble, cities scarred, and millions left terrified.

In the Kremlin, Soviet officials discussed strategies:

"We've seen how destructive mutants can be. But we also witnessed how they saved the world. Perhaps collaboration is the answer," one general suggested.

A senator stood. "We turn this into an opportunity. We've seen what mutants can do. We saw them defeat Apocalypse. Let's collaborate with them. Use their abilities for the betterment of the world—natural disasters, medical advancements, defense. They could be an invaluable asset."

"And how do we convince the public?" someone else asked.

"Start with transparency," the senator replied. "Show the world the good mutants have done. Highlight their contributions during the Apocalypse crisis. Let's frame them as heroes, not threats."

Across Europe, Asia, and the rest of the world, similar discussions were taking place. The overarching sentiment was fear mixed with reluctant admiration. Mutants could no longer be ignored or marginalized. They were too powerful, too visible, and, apparently, indispensable.

By the end of the meetings, a consensus was reached:

1. Mutants would not be treated as enemies unless they proved themselves to be threats.

2. Mutants willing to cooperate would be invited to work with governments for the betterment of society.

3. A global initiative to create better understanding and coexistence between humans and mutants would be launched.

The public was not as composed as the politicians. The news channels were bustling with interviews, reports, and debates.

On CNN, the anchor opened with dramatic music:

"Breaking News! Reports confirm that mutants were instrumental in defeating the being known as Apocalypse, who caused unprecedented destruction just days ago. But who are these mutants, and what does this mean for humanity?"

In a televised interview, a New York resident exclaimed:

"I don't know about mutants! They saved us, sure, but what if they turn against us? How do we protect ourselves from people who can move mountains or control minds?"

On BBC, a professor argued:

"Mutants are the next step in human evolution. Treating them with hostility will only lead to chaos. We must learn to coexist and perhaps even embrace their abilities for the betterment of society."

Meanwhile, tabloids thrived on sensationalism. One headline read:

"Mutants: Heroes or Harbingers of Doom?"

Radio shows, still a dominant media form, were flooded with callers. Some expressed gratitude for the mutants' role in stopping Apocalypse. Others voiced concerns about what unchecked power could mean.

Mutant visibility became a hot-button topic. Schools, workplaces, and even families debated whether mutants were a danger or a blessing.

At Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, Charles Xavier watched the reports on TV. Erik and Raven joined him.

"This is just the beginning," Charles murmured.

Erik smirked. "Let them fear us. Fear is respect."

"No," Raven said firmly. "They need to see us as more than just weapons or threats. If they only respect us out of fear, nothing will truly change."

Charles nodded. "We'll work with the governments. Build trust. It's the only way."

As the dust settled from Apocalypse's defeat, the world was left with a new reality: mutants were here to stay. Whether humanity would embrace them as partners or treat them as enemies would depend on the choices both sides made in the coming days.

For Peter, this shift in global perception brought a smile to his face.

He then focused on his evolution next and already consulted Raphael about this. The answers, as always, came with complexities.

Raphael had explained that his Predator skill could be upgraded, but it required sacrifice. Certain skills would need to be relinquished for Predator to evolve, as the laws of this world didn't mirror those of the Tensura universe.

Similarly, Great Sage, already evolved into Raphael, which already sacrificed several skills for transformation.

Previously the souls he consumed strengthen his own along with others conditions make the evolution of his skill possible.

He now plans to send his Avatar to another universe and gain some skills there. He also plans gains skills here by consuming the powers of some powerful mutants.

As for his race evolution, Raphael didn't say the conditions but mentioned it was not possible currently and didn't even mentioned what conditions need to be met.

As he reached Jean's room, he put his thoughts aside and focused on forming a soul bond with Jean—a connection deeper than the current bond they had.

When he entered, she had just stepped out of the bathroom, her body wrapped in a towel, her damp hair cascading down her shoulders. She looked at him with a smile, her green eyes sparkling as droplets of water clung to her skin.

Peter returned the smile and stepped closer. "Jean," he began, "do you remember the soul bond I told you about?"

Jean tilted her head, her smile turning curious, and nodded.

He continued while stepping closer to her, "I'm ready to do it now. But before we can complete the bond, there's a ritual we need to perform."

Jean's breath hitched slightly as Peter moved closer and now their faces are only inches apart. "What kind of ritual?" she asked.

Peter's lips curled into a smirk. "This," he replied before pulling her into a deep, passionate kiss.

Jean's surprise melted away as she responded with equal intensity, her arms wrapping around his neck.

Peter's hands moved to her waist, lifting her effortlessly. He walked her to the bed and gently laid her down, their lips never parting. Jean's towel loosened slightly as she pulled him closer.

Peter broke the kiss briefly, looking down at her with a smirk. "Are you ready, Jean?"

She smiled up at him with her cheeks flushed. "I already am."

Peter leaned down, claiming her lips once more as their connection deepened.
