Chapter 109: Chapter 109: I Want to Try

The skies above Metropolis were turbulent, the air heavy with tension.

Azor hovered high above, gripping a Kryptonite spear in his hand. His piercing gaze swept over the chaos unfolding below.

On a blazing high-rise stood a monstrous, humanoid creature, its deafening roars echoing through the city.

Azor had departed soon after Superman's rampage and made his way here.

"Doomsday," he muttered with a smirk tugging at his lips. "I've been waiting for you."

The main control key he had left with Lex Luthor had served its purpose. That madman had actually brought Doomsday to life.

Fighting Doomsday, Azor believed, would rapidly boost his skill proficiencies. Once the creature evolved into its ultimate form—like the one from the movie—he'd end it with the Kryptonite spear.

Everything was falling into place: gaining knowledge of Kryptonian technology, confronting Superman, Batman, and now Doomsday.

Through these battles, he could refine his powers, and with the rewards from completing this event, his journey in the DC Universe would be well worth it.

Tightening his grip on the spear, Azor prepared to descend and face the beast.

Just then, a Batplane roared into view. Its mounted cannons fired a relentless barrage of rounds, the tracer fire illuminating the night as it struck Doomsday.

The monster howled in rage, leaping with incredible force, crossing buildings in a single bound as it lunged at the Batplane.

With precise maneuvering, the plane veered to evade. Doomsday's attack missed, sending the creature smashing into a building's exterior. It clung to the structure like a predator stalking prey, clawing its way down to the ground amidst a shower of rubble.

It grabbed a nearby lamppost with one hand, lifting it like a spear, and hurled it at the Batplane. The projectile soared with missile-like velocity, narrowly missing the aircraft, which twisted sharply to avoid impact.

The Batplane circled back, its cannons blazing. The fiery projectiles rained down on Doomsday, who raised its arms to shield itself before letting out a bone-chilling roar.

Leaping again, the monster closed the distance. This time, it reached out and tore into the plane's underbelly, ripping it open. The ensuing explosion sent the Batplane plummeting.

Before the crash, Batman ejected, tumbling across the ground until his body finally came to rest against a fountain.

His armored suit was gone, replaced by his standard combat attire. Struggling to his feet, Bruce Wayne's body trembled with pain. He knew he was severely injured, yet the will to fight burned fiercely within him.

It was the Wayne family spirit—unyielding in the face of adversity.

As he looked up, he saw Doomsday barreling toward him, its massive form casting a looming shadow over the battered vigilante.

In that critical moment, a figure intervened, moving faster than the eye could follow.

Boom!

Doomsday's double fists collided with a circular shield, creating a ripple of force so powerful it shattered the statues in the plaza.

The next instant, a muscular leg shot out, delivering a thunderous kick that sent Doomsday flying.

Hovering above, Azor watched as the shield lowered, revealing the breathtaking figure of a tall, athletic woman.

It was Diana, the Amazonian warrior.

It was Wonder Woman.

Clad in her iconic armor, she radiated a powerful presence, her sword drawn in one hand, her shield held firmly in the other.

"What is that thing?" she asked, glancing back at Batman.

"I don't know," Bruce replied, struggling to stand. "But I do know it's from Krypton."

A voice suddenly came from above.

"It's called Doomsday," Azor said, descending gracefully, the Kryptonite spear still in his grasp. "A powerful, nearly indestructible biological weapon."

Diana and Bruce looked up to see him hovering overhead. Azor's gaze remained fixed on the distant Doomsday.

"It's mine," he declared. "Stay out of this."

Without waiting for a response, Azor vanished in a black blur, breaking the sound barrier as he collided with Doomsday.

Boom!

The impact unleashed a shockwave that sent Doomsday hurtling backward, smashing into a hundred-story skyscraper. The creature's immense weight caused windows to shatter and walls to crumble as it crashed into the building.

Moments later, it rebounded, roaring as it lunged back toward Azor.

Azor's eyes glowed with intense heat, golden rays blazing forth like twin suns.

In the blink of an eye, the beams struck Doomsday mid-air, detonating into an explosion of fiery brilliance.

The golden light expanded rapidly, transforming into a fiery inferno that engulfed everything in its path. Nearby buildings toppled like dominoes, reduced to ashes by the searing heat.

The shockwave from the blast rippled outward, whipping Wonder Woman's hair and Batman's cape. Both shielded their faces from the scorching wind.

"You can't fight here!" Diana shouted toward Azor.

But he ignored her, his focus on the information appearing before his eyes.

[Heat Vision Proficiency Increased.]

[Flight Proficiency Increased.]

[Super Strength Proficiency Increased.]

A faint smile appeared on his lips as he read the notifications.

Then, from the heart of the explosion, a blazing figure fell to the ground—it was Doomsday.

The creature roared as its body pulsated and expanded. Its muscles swelled, its spikes grew longer, and its strength visibly increased. It had absorbed the energy from Azor's attack, becoming even more powerful.

"Still not enough," Azor murmured before charging in again.

Wonder Woman started to move, but Batman stopped her.

"The Kryptonite spear!" he shouted. "That man's spear is the key to killing that thing!"

Diana glanced at him briefly before asking, "Where's Superman? Where did he go?"

Bruce's expression darkened, and he didn't answer.

Not waiting for a response, Diana sprinted toward the battle.

Azor delivered a flying kick, sending Doomsday crashing into a mall. The monster wasted no time, lunging back with a hammer-like punch that sent Azor flying.

Azor skidded across the ground, his feet tearing up the pavement as he plowed through a line of parked cars before coming to a stop.

A flash of movement brought Wonder Woman to his side. She extended a hand.

"Give me the spear," she said firmly. "I'll end this."

Azor chuckled. "Sorry, ma'am. I don't share my weapons."

Before Diana could retort, she leapt backward as Doomsday charged past, smashing through a massive bronze statue.

With a determined grunt, Diana slammed her gauntlets together, unleashing a concussive wave that sent Doomsday flying.

Turning back to Azor, she smirked. "You wouldn't want to end up like it, would you?"

Azor smirked in return, tightening his grip on the spear.

"I want to try."
