Just as Kael reached the part where the King of Alzaria saved Seraphina, he heard a voice. Turning, he saw a hooded figure—it was Seraphina herself. She approached him, her eyes burning with intensity.
"I knew you would investigate my past," she said. "Why did you want to know my past?"
Kael's mind raced. "I was trying to find something that would help me discover any weaknesses of the King. That's why I was interested in your story."
Seraphina studied him for a moment, then nodded, seemingly satisfied with his answer. "Very well. I will continue my story."
With a deep breath, she resumed the tale, her voice filled with sorrow and resolve.
---
As the weeks turned into months, their bond deepened. The man expressed his desire to become the King of Alzaria, not for power, but to bring peace and prosperity to the land. Seraphina, moved by his noble intentions, decided to help him. She revealed the Draven Spirit Technique, a powerful method that could greatly enhance his abilities. Though the technique was only half complete, she believed it would be enough to aid him in his quest.
"Take this," she said, handing him the scroll with the technique. "I trust you will use it wisely."
The man looked at her with gratitude and promised, "I will. And I will come back for you once I have secured my place."
With that, he left to train. Months passed, and news of his exploits began to spread. He was rising quickly, gaining power and influence. Seraphina waited, her heart filled with hope and anticipation. But as time went on, she began to hear rumors that troubled her.
One night, unable to bear the uncertainty any longer, she decided to infiltrate the royal garden. She needed to see him, to understand why he hadn't come back for her. What she found shattered her heart. The man she loved was in the arms of another woman, laughing and smiling as if Seraphina had never existed.
Feeling her presence, the man looked up and saw her. His expression changed to one of annoyance. He grabbed her arm and dragged her into the throne room.
"Why are you here?" he demanded, his voice cold.
"Eldrich Alzaria the 22nd King Of Alzaria, I came to see you," Seraphina replied, her voice trembling. "I thought... I thought you cared about me."
He laughed, a cruel sound that echoed in the empty hall. "Care about you? I used you, Seraphina. I needed the Draven Spirit Technique, and you were foolish enough to give it to me."
Seraphina felt her world crumble. "You... you knew who I was?"
"Yes," he said, his voice devoid of any warmth. "I never loved you. I only needed your power. And now that I have it, you are nothing to me."
Tears streamed down Seraphina's face as she realized the depth of his betrayal. She tried to fight him, but he was too powerful. The technique she had given him had made him nearly invincible. He overpowered her easily, his strength far beyond anything she could match.
"Consider this a lesson," he said, his voice dripping with disdain. "Never trust anyone. Take this betrayal and learn from it."
With that, he threw her out of the capital's gates, leaving her broken and humiliated. Seraphina, once filled with hope and love, was now consumed by a burning desire for revenge. She vowed to make him pay for his treachery, to bring him down no matter the cost.
---
One fateful night, Seraphina infiltrated the Alzarian palace, her heart pounding with anticipation. She moved like a shadow, every step silent and precise, targeting the man who had betrayed her, now the King of Alzaria.
The King's chambers were lavish, adorned with silks and gold, a stark contrast to the cold steel in Seraphina's heart. She stepped into the room, her blade drawn, her eyes fixed on the man who had caused her so much pain.
The King stood with a smirk, his regal robes flowing as he turned to face her. "So, the witch finally returns. Did you truly think you could harm me?"
Seraphina's eyes blazed with fury. "You took everything from me. Now, it's time you paid the price."
With a swift motion, she lunged, her blade aiming for his heart. But the King, expecting her, caught her wrist in midair. "You forget, Seraphina, it was your power and that bit*h's power that made me invincible."
Their fight was fierce, each clash of their blades echoing through the halls. The King moved with the grace and power of a dragon, his strikes overwhelming Seraphina like an ant beneath his might. The room seemed to shrink around them, the opulence fading into the background as their battle raged on.
"Is this the best you can do?" he taunted, his voice dripping with disdain. "You were always beneath me, Seraphina."
Seraphina gritted her teeth, determined not to give up. "I will see you fall!"
But despite her skill, the King's strength was too great. He parried her attacks effortlessly, his blows landing with crushing force. The pain was excruciating, but it only fueled her anger and desperation.
"You were always beneath me, Seraphina," he sneered, knocking her to the ground. "A tool to be used and discarded."
As she lay there, battered and bruised, he leaned in close, his voice a cold whisper. "Next time, bring the legendary king of assassins. Maybe then, you'll stand a chance."
Humiliated and defeated, Seraphina retreated, vowing to return stronger and more determined than ever.
---
Kael sighed hard, feeling the weight of Seraphina's story. Her tale was one of heartbreak and betrayal, but also of resilience and strength. He looked up at Seraphina, who was watching him closely.
"I will kill him." he said quietly.
Seraphina nodded. "Remember my story, Kael. Trust is a fragile thing. Guard it well."
With those words, she disappeared into the shadows, leaving Kael to ponder the lessons of her past.
