"This kid, is he really that strong?"

The crowd was dumbfounded as Ryo executed the spinning top maneuver. It was a signature move, unique to Levi, admired for its devastating precision. To see Ryo perform it so seamlessly left many questioning their own abilities.

In the entire Survey Corps, no one but Captain Levi had ever mastered the technique. It wasn't for lack of effort; it required exceptional strength, speed, and balance. Oruo, famous for his mimicry of Levi, had tried and failed miserably, hindered by his height and lack of finesse.

Yet here was Ryo, completing it as if it were second nature. Oruo's pride stung. "How is this possible? Is his strength really greater than mine?"

Petra, who had the most insight into Levi's fighting style, was equally astonished. She whispered, "Even the captain rarely uses this move. And Ryo… he's never seen Levi demonstrate it. Could he have figured it out on his own?"

The rest of Levi's squad exchanged glances, their awe mingled with disbelief. They could see now that Ryo wasn't just another recruit; he was something else entirely.

As Ryo leaped from the first abnormal's head, slicing through its nape, a geyser of blood and steam erupted. But his work wasn't done. Another abnormal was barreling toward him on all fours, its ferocity unrelenting.

Ryo quickly adjusted, using his gear to dodge the beast's grasp. He landed on its arm, propelling himself upward and slicing its nape with a powerful swing. The abnormal let out a gurgling roar as its body collapsed, sending tremors through the earth.

But the fight wasn't over.

Just as Ryo was catching his breath, the second abnormal stood on its hind legs. It glared at him, its eyes filled with an unsettling intelligence. Ryo froze. "Those eyes… they're not like a normal giant's. They're… human."

The abnormal's next move confirmed his fears. It launched a coordinated attack, swiping at him with both hands in an attempt to crush him mid-air.

Boom!

The hands collided with thunderous force, but Ryo had already moved. "Too slow!" he taunted, anchoring his gear to the giant's shoulder and swinging around its massive torso.

The abnormal roared, snapping its jaws in an attempt to catch him. Ryo smirked. "You think you can eat me? Dream on!"

He spiraled upward, reaching the back of its neck. "This ends now!" he declared, ready to deliver the killing blow.

But then the abnormal did something no one expected.

It twisted its torso with unnatural speed, reaching for Ryo with one hand while shielding its nape with the other.

"What?!" Ryo exclaimed, his trajectory thrown off.

From the trees, the soldiers who had escaped the left wing were watching in stunned silence. "Is that even possible?" one muttered.

"How can a giant defend its weak spot like that?" another whispered.

The commander clenched his fists. "This isn't an ordinary abnormal. It's like it knows how we fight. Ryo might be in serious trouble."

The abnormal lunged again, forcing Ryo to retreat. He hovered mid-air, recalculating his approach. "It's learning. This isn't just a mindless beast. It's adapting."

He gritted his teeth, determination burning in his eyes. "Fine. If you're smart, then I'll just have to outsmart you."

The battle wasn't over. But as the soldiers watched Ryo face off against an opponent that seemed almost human, they couldn't help but feel a spark of hope. This wasn't just a fight for survival—it was a testament to the will and ingenuity of humanity.

And Ryo, standing against the odds, was leading the charge.
