Chapter 9: Preparations

I noticed I was spelling a characters name wrong so I will go back and fix it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's been about two and a half weeks since He Tun chose his class, and he made steady progress even managing to level up despite the higher requirements. Both the boys have also been able to choose a class, much to my dismay both chose the fighter class though one did choose the yell ability instead of empowering. A week into that time though I was able to convince He Tun to help Analay to level up, the condition was that I always had to be near, but it was fun. Currently she is level eight, and I directed her to put points into spirit and will.

Name: Analay

Class: N/A

Level: 8

XP: 15/40

Strength- 3

Endurance-3

Agility: 3

Constitution: 4

Will: 2

Mind: 5

Spirit: 6

Skills: [edge weapons 2] [blunt weapons 1]

She was even able to raise her strength and endurance stats naturally, which I hadn't thought was possible as I had yet to see it. Unfortunately this also means that the fire nation soldiers had time to level up. lucky for me, despite beating the boss, they were still hesitant to go to the next floor without knowing what was there. Captain Li Ten was also able to level up a good bit too unfortunately without my input he figured that putting points into the highest stats was probably a good idea.

Name: Li Ten

Class: Firebender

Level: 6

XP: 0/35

Strength- 7

Endurance-5

Agility: 5

Constitution: 4

Will: 3

Mind: 4

Spirit: 6

Skills: [Spears 3] [Swords 2] [Hand to hand 2] [Fire bending 4]

Fortunately, with He Tun gaining a class I got an extra reward for having the first person do so.

[Tower points 127]

With my newly acquired tower points it took a lot of deliberation, but I did end up purchasing a better tent for them, one more permanent than the previous one. It took some deliberation on what to do with my leftover points, but I elected to purchase a new class instead of the dungeon for now.

"Shop, search, available classes"

[class options] 100 points each

Ranger

Rouge

Crafter

Human+1

"Hmm, I can rule out Human +1 for right now it's not very useful" I debated myself. Let's go with ranger for now"

[ranger chosen. Remaining tower points 27].

"Alright let's go check up on He Ten I haven't seen them for a couple days" I said to myself.

[Warning large group entering territory]

"Again? Map!"

Pulling up my map I began to scan the edges of it, reasoning that since they just entered it was my best bet. Fortunately for me I found them almost immediately.

"What the hell?" I screamed to no one.

On my map and after a quick count there were about sixty dot's all moving towards the direction of the tower. Quickly zooming in I found a cluster of rocks right next to the lead and teleported to them immediately crouching down having learned my lesson from the previous encounter.

"Commander Zhao the men need rest" a soldier suggested.

Zhao? No, no, no that must be a coincidence, that's what I thought until I heard him speak.

"A rest? That's a good idea perhaps you would like to carry them all on your back"

Gulping the soldier replied "No sir, sorry sir"

"Good now shut up and keep marching"

Standing up a bit I quickly looked over the rocks I was hiding behind. It was only a quick glance but I confirmed my fears. It definitely was Zhao. Quickly teleporting back to my tower I immediately collapsed against a tree. He was one of the few people I did not want in my tower. He was an insane fanatic who would destroy the world for the sake of his career and the fire nation.

"Fuck this is bad" I chastise myself "I really regret talking to the fire nation, man am I an idiot"

The only good thing about this is that I at least know that Aang will be waking up at least sometime in the near future.

"Again, fuck this is really bad"

Based on their position they just entered my territory and it's only morning but then again, my territory was seventy square miles so it should at least take them a day or two to reach the tower. That gives me time to prepare.

Walking over to He Ten who was making breakfast "Can I talk to you?"

"No offense Callum but every time you say that it's usually bad news so what is happening this time" was his reply.

"Fair enough, there is a very large patrol of fire nation soldiers making their way here"

"How many?" He Ten asked seriously.

"About sixty or so"

"By the spirits"

"Don't worry your still safe here, no one can hurt you or your family just wanted to ask if you would company me when I greet them"

"Why me"

"Well your the first person to come to my tower which means your the highest level"

"You want me to face an entire troop of fire nation soldiers"

"When you say it like that it sounds bad, but again no one can hurt you on the first floor and we won't be leaving the tower" I explained.

"I don't know…" he trailed off.

"I will give you a new weapon and some armor" I incentivized.

Taking a minute to think it over he finally replied "Fine but I also want to level up as much as possible before they come how long do we have"

"A few days at most"

"That's a bit soon"

"Look I'll lead you around the floor and if you get into trouble, I will stop the monster so you can just go crazy killing things"

"Fine, well start after breakfast"

"Tanks"

After waiting for them to eat I led He Ten around the floor for the next 48 hours keeping a watchful eye on the position of the soldiers. I didn't realize how seriously He Ten took my crazy comment. I had to save him on more occasions than I would have liked to, but it was worth it.

Fortunately, by the time they arrived we were able to level He Ten up again despite the higher requirements.

Name: He Tun

Class: Fighter

Level: 12

XP: 5/200

Strength- 10

Endurance-6

Agility: 6

Constitution: 3

Will: 2

Mind: 1

Spirit: 1

Skills: [Edge Weapons 8] [hand to hand 1]

Abilities: [Empower]

"Ready," I inquired.

"As I will ever be," He Ten replied.

"Don't worry you have the highest stats in the tower currently not to mention your one of the only few with a class"

"Alright I'm ready" he said with more resolve.

"Alright"

Walking through the floors it still took us about three hours to get back to the first, mostly due to the size of the fifth. But once we returned we were treated to an already large camp centered around the entrance to the tower.

"Remember whatever you do don't attack or there is consequences for violating the rules of the tower"

"You have yet to tell me what those consequences are?"

Not knowing what to say I simply replied "Bad ones"

"Alright I'm ready let's go talk to some fire nation bastards"

"Please refrain from calling them that as we talk to them"

"No promises"

Looking at He Ten I saw him clutching his new sword. Fortunately, the shop automatically fit the size of armor to what I intend so we didn't have to change anything about the simple leather armor.

"If uou want to turn back you can"

"This isn't fear, it's anger we have been at war for almost a hundred years they have killed many of us"

Looking guilty I replied "Sorry I didn't think about that"

"You are not from the earth kingdom you wouldn't understand if you did"

"Look.." I started but was interrupted.

"Let's just get this over with I want to be back with my family"

"Alright let's go" I said as we made our way to the camp.
