Avon Starlight

Avon and Laia sat cross-legged and closed their eyes. They calmed themselves and practiced the breathing technique their master gave them. Slowly their heart beats slowed down. 

Avon found it difficult to focus in the start. He used to say "My mind isn't something in my control". Once Reveria touched his forehead and after a while said that he had a very chaotic mind. She said she was surprised as to how he could focus how much he did on a regular basis with such a chaotic mind. Now after three days of meditating Avon finally had control over his thoughts now. He had become much calmer and was able to think better. Laia who had a firm grasp over her thoughts had already started to sense mana in the three days of mental training. 

Avon who was now able to feel his surroundings and had become one with it, could sense something strange surrounding him. Everytime he tried to grasp what it was, he felt like it changed its existence itself. This particle or whatever it was, it was different from the air surrounding him. The atmosphere, for him, seemed to be of the same nature. He reached the conclusion that since all the gases in the atmosphere are made up of atoms, atoms on the basic level are the same in nature, so it all felt the same. But this particle seemed different. He could it was the same particle that appeared to change its existence. He could tell the essence was the same. It messed up his mind.

"Master is mana this particle that is continuously changing its form?"

"hmm? What form? Tell me in detail what you sense"

"There is a particle surrounding me but it keeps on changing its form...like its very meaning..."

"Why do you think the particles are changing their forms? They are independent particles. Particles that appear and disappear in this dimension. Collectively they are called mana. Why do you say they are interchanging?"

"They....seem to have the same..umm...essence..like, they are the same thing but different functions or something..."

"Laia what did you sense?"

"I sense three different particles like you mentioned master. They keep on appearing and disappearing"

"See Avon, Even Laia sensed the same. Are you sure you feel they are dependent?"

Avon was baffled now...he was not sure what to make out of this. He knew what he felt bit he could be wrong. Still, he knew he should be true to his heart and trusted that his master would guide him through this. 

"I can't say clearly but I am sure they are the same thing...They do change in three ways..."

Reveria knew Avon was very open-minded while learning and was not stubborn to just prove his point. He always took a step back if he was wrong or doubtful. Seeing him be this sure, she said

"Well, let us put it aside for now. The true nature will be revealed as you keep on mastering how to use mana. Now let me tell about the universe. There are many planets out there. The residents usually specialize in using one of the three mana particles. People like me, who are among the elite in the world can use all three particles proficiently. The planets can be divided into certain tiers based on the level of civilization and the density of mana available. Supreme tier, High tier, Middle tier, Low tier and lost tier. Lost tier means that the mana density is so low that the residents of the planet can never be able to achieve proficiency in using mana. Your planet, currently is in between lost and low tier as the mana outside the barrier is slowly surrounding the planet. Using the three mana particles, one can cultivate their body, cultivate their mind and also learn magic."

"Interesting" said Avon. He was actually overloaded with information and was still processing this. 

"Master what happens after we cultivate?"asked Laia

"Your body will grow stronger and your life span will extend upon cultivating your body. Cultivating the mind can help improve cognitive functions to and extreme level. Magic helps in many ways. It is a very convenient skill to have. Magic is difficult to explain. You will know once you see it. I will show it to you in the further parts of your training"

"Master can you tell us about why you bonded with Earth now?" asked Avon

"Yes. Actually I was keeping an eye on an heretic cultivator from an evil sect. He seemed to have discovered your planet. He was unable to do anything due to the barrier and I was secretly watching him. Suddenly one day the barrier broke and he rushed in to capture Earth so I intervened. I won in the battle, but I couldn't stop him from sending a signal asking for help from his companion. I was weakened in the battle and knew if his companion came over I might lose. The heretic was higher than me in terms of cultivation and I am sure his companion will be even higher. So I bonded with the planet but since Earth didn't have any mana at that time, the process was unstable and I weakened further upon bonding with the planet....I have gained some strength now, but it is far from enough..."

"You are in a weakened state currently? You didn't even sweat when you were showing us how to proceed with the training...Master really is amazing. " Laia said.

"Yeah.." Avon agreed

"Anyways I am making you stronger so that you can help in the upcoming battle. Do not worry. I am much difficult to deal with even in this state. Still, even if you reach 1/5th of my current strenght then you can help me. You two are real gems for me. Many faltered and gave up when training but you two never did. You did become so strong in just a month but that is only because you had the will. So, you will grow more stronger, much more. Just trust me."

"Yes!" both said in unison.

A week passed and now both Avon and Laia could clearly grasp the existence of mana. Though its true nature was still perceived differently by Avon. 

"Both of you! On guard! The enemy is here. I can sense him. He came much earlier than I expected. You need more time too! Quick enter this artifact, I will go gauge the enemy first!"

Avon and Laia were shocked. still processing what was happening they entered the artifact as told. They were sent inside the artifact but could see everything happening outside. Laia started flying and soon stopped. Before was a man clad in black. He had purple gauntlets and a purple headband. He shouted

"So it is you! Rose Warrior Reveria, master of blades! I will kill you here and now!"
