Beast and Monster Collision

Chapter 6: To The Wall

Soon they approached the end of the island and they saw the broken ladder. Its robes were barely holding the few planks that remained.

But from the intention of the beast Eugene was in, they could go through it.

The herd stopped and Eugene felt the anticipation of the Zeera on him, his bodyguard allowed him to move a bit ahead of them and he focused.

One needed to know his beast was closed eyed and can't see at all. But from the beast around him he felt that large trench before themselves was about 150 feet long.

Silent Treader Eugene came close to the ladder bridge and focused more days on his instinct and probe.

'Please, work!' He prayed but he wasn't able to grasp what was beyond, the distance was too far.

Eugene waited but he was not discouraged as he sent a powerful mental intention, 'Other side…image!'

There was delay but then Eugene saw the full image of the bridge ladder and of the other side.

He didn't even comprehend everything he screamed, '..away here!'

His mental screams prompt her to project it to other beasts and they move uniformly. Their speed accelerated beyond what Eugene had thought they could.

They weren't far when they heard a loud crack.

Zeera made the Silent Treader with eyes to look back and her heart skipped a beat.

There was a stone on that part, a large one about 12 feet and now it was cracking and splintering.

But because they were moving fast she didn't get the whole picture.

"Thank you. You saved us"

Eugene felt her intent.

If Eugene wasn't here she would have sent one of the beasts there and probed but, will the monster in the stone move or will it wait till they cross.

Well, she knows the answer, the fact that the monster didn't move until they moved away means it was a silent stalker. It will wait for them until they all move there.

'I'm in luck?' Zeera thought, her body was already trembling. She almost died just now. The fold on her face was the thing that sucked her tears out fear and gladness.

Soon their group was about to reach the second bridge ladder. Eugene demanded to slow down and watch their back.

She was confused but she trusted the beast, the moment they slowed down she heard the rustling of leaves and something heavy was coming their way.

She quickly accounted for the Silent Traders around her and she confirmed she didn't let anyone behind.

'The monster followed us'

She was about to commande them to move forward but stopped and sent it to Silent Treader Eugene but Eugene waited.

'Trust him. Trust him. Trust him'. She has to continually tell herself that so that fear won't make her commander the beast to move.

And then it appeared, all the Silent Treaders trembled with agitation and got ready for battle.

An image was immediately sent to Eugene.

The monster looked smaller than before, now as small as one of the Treaders and it stopped moving as it faced them.

The image is rough but Eugene identified the monster is bipedal with sick arms, it doesn't have a traditional head but just a long neck with segments.

Its body was rough like fragile rock and its legs looked like smashed stones about to break away. But somehow it can move even with a rigid body.

It stretched its hand and grabbed the earth and it turned to stone. Eugene expected to hurl it at them but it slammed it at its chest, immediately it became stone armor atop its body and the monster began to grow.

'Ahead!' Eugene said, Zeera was petrified by fear.

'AHEAD!' This jolted her awake and immediately looked ahead and they moved. Their movements seemed to accelerate the enlargement of the monster.

That's when Zeera noticed on the other side of the ladder was the same type of monster waiting for them but she also saw Eugene move in that direction and went ahead.

'No!' She shouted at him.

'Follow!' He shouted back.

There was a three second delay before she agreed by then the monster that followed them was already attacking and three Silent Treaders intercepted it.

Their maw wide open, sharp pearly teeth appeared and went to bite it.

The monster stone became like fluid, it moved to avoid the maws and then used its hands to slam at all three of them.

Its arms now like liquid flow inside the thick hair of the beasts and reached their skin and the next instance they were sucked inside the stone and its body ballooned up.

Silent Treader Eugene had reached the ladder and was scaling it, the Silent Treader carrying Zeera was just behind him and was about to cross.

The monster hunting them jumped high above avoiding all the jumping Silent Treaders trying to halt it and it landed just behind Zeera.

Silent Treader Eugene by now has reached the other side but the stone monster there didn't attack him but carried a stone and hurled it at the other monster close to Zeera before it too then jumped toward her.

The stone monster behind Zeera was halted from touching her by the throw, this allowed her beast to run fast and by then the other monster on the other hand landed.

What came after was clash, stone shattering and breaking apart before their fluid nature took effect and they began to absorb each other.

'They…all..want… alone…you!' Eugene forced his intention toward her.

She calmed down as she listened to the battle behind her that was fading away. Now she was extremely glad that she followed the plan.

She looked ahead and saw the Silent Treader with a golden palm glowing on its head running.

'He saved me again. Good, I shouldn't doubt him!' She said.

Somehow, the other beasts found a way to cross the bridge and reached her. Except the three that were absorbed by the stone monster.

She felt sad, losing them but she jolted again with a warning.

'It's coming!'

The stone monsters have now merged and became stronger than they were. Their movements became faster and reached them in short amounts of time.

'Faster!'

Eugene urged as his movements slow and matched her beast.

'Me control!' he said.

Without any delay he felt hundreds of nods at him that began to overwhelm him but discarded most of them, leaving the immediate 10 nods around them including the one with eyes seeing.

Suddenly, she was jerked as the entire 10 beasts around her changed direction avoiding something landing just in their place.

Another stone monster but this one was new.

'Damn it. this place is dangerous'

Eugene was barely able to detect danger before he reacted in time and any time he did he lost a day worth of life.

But that wasn't the biggest problem, it was hard to feel the danger because it was everywhere.

If he were to map what he was feeling then in every direction, he would face several 12 feet rocks at every route they are heading.

The only thing he was doing now was trying to avoid the monsters that were already moving and we're about to attack them.

The other saving grace was that the stone monsters were after Zeera and they didn't want any other monster to have her.

So, Eugene has to make sure he weaves between the monsters for them to enter into conflict of who will get to have her while he, Zeera and the rest of the beasts escape.

But he knew this would not last any longer. Not to mention some stray monsters were able to attack but were held by the Silent Treaders which also spelled their death immediately.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang

This sound showed that a very heavy stone monster was upon them and it wasn't running but jumping high before landing and jumping high.

Eugene panicked when the sound didn't come from behind but from ahead of them.

Boom!

Eugene slowed down a bit, the 234 beast remaining also slowed down a bit, the stone monsters around them attacked them but pebbles rained down at them shattering them, protecting Zeera.

Silent Treaders weren't injured much because their body absorbed the impact.

Eugene stopped completely and turned around before he felt an equal amount of danger from every direction he faced.

He faced the destination they were aiming at and ran and they all followed.

The plan was the same, fit them against each other.

Eugene reached the large stone monster that first followed them and an image reached him, behind the monster for about 200 feet was a wall that moved upward. That is their salvation.

But what he focused on was that there were four 17 feet stone monsters waiting for them.

They weren't fighting and they all attacked them.

Mayhem issue.

'TO THE WALL!'

That is all he can say before the strike reached them. Eugene avoided pebbles rain but the herd of Silent Treader went on and took on the attack for Zeera.

More than ten Silent Treaders faced and hinder each of the four large stone monsters.

The good thing was that the monster had reached a level where they couldn't absorb the beasts and they went ahead to pummel them and sleep the liquid inside the beast. Which still ends up killing them.

Zeera was already petrified, her eyes might be closed, but were weeping as she felt the death of every beast in their combined effort to protect her with zero selfishness.

But then immediately the one with eyes among them tumbled and rolled and the eyes disappeared, the duration was over.

The place of the eyes became hollow before its body became smoke and vanished.

This caused lagging in understanding of situations among the beast and one of the large stone monsters jumped toward Zeera.
