Chapter 1: Where am I?
"Hurry! Protect the king!"
The voice was loud and fearful, piercing the air like a siren. Ryan suddenly opened his eyes to see a metallic object coming toward him at a frightening speed.
"What?! What is that thing? Where the hell am I?"
His body shook, fear gripping him completely. He couldn't move, but fortunately, the arrow hit his armor instead of his body, causing a violent vibration that shook him to his core.
Ryan cried out in muffled pain, feeling as if his body was collapsing under the immense force of the impact.
"Oh my God! The King has been wounded! Help! Hurry!"
One of the soldiers shouted in a desperate tone, and orders rang out from every direction:
"Where are the priests and sorcerers? Bring them here at once!
Damn it! Will the city be breached? Have they brought siege ladders?"
The soldiers stood on the wall, stunned by the onslaught of enemies who had laid siege to the castle.
"Archers, get ready! Fire your arrows!"
Amidst the noise and chaos, Ryan tried to make sense of what was happening. The sounds and events were too much for him to comprehend.
"Mages? Priests? Siege? What the hell is this? Am I in a film?"
He squeezed his chest painfully, then muttered indignantly,
"King? King of what? When I find whoever shot that arrow at me, I'll punch them in the nose!"
His body shook as if he had just been hit by a truck.
Noise... Distant voices...
"Lily, you're an idiot! If I were you, I wouldn't care if he died. He's the cause of all this war and chaos!"
"Shut up, Liz! Ryan is still my fiancé!"
The voices reached his ears, and he slowly opened his eyes. In front of him were two girls, both in the bloom of youth, arguing in low voices.
His gaze fell on the blonde girl with snow-white skin and silky hair. Her features were absolutely mesmerizing.
Ryan coughed deliberately to get her attention.
"You're awake?"
The girl, whose name was Lily, approached, her expression a mixture of happiness and concern. She looked at him with warm eyes and asked,
"Are you all right? Are you still in pain? The doctor said you need to rest."
Ryan tried to speak but could only mumble,
"What's going on?"
He took a moment to collect his thoughts, but realized only one thing:
He had been transported to another world.
