Bloodhound’s Regression Instinct

Chapter 34

Chapter 34

Lorena had been quite neat and tidy until a few moments ago.

But now her hair was loose and messy, and her face was covered with dust and bloodstains.

Clang-! Clang! Clang!

She swung or stabbed her sword frantically, fighting against the revolutionaries.

She had been the top performer in the training camp, except for Yan.

But at this moment, she was in a predicament.

“She’s a madwoman with a sword!”

“Did the Beowulf Duke teach you that?”

The revolutionaries jeered at Lorena, who gave up defense and only attacked.

But their sword attacks did not stop either.

As time passed, more and more wounds appeared on her body.

Whoosh!

She ignored the sword flying from the right and stabbed the heart of the revolutionary in front of her.

Blood flowed from her cheek.

It was because she did not avoid the flying sword.

Lorena scanned the surroundings with fierce eyes, looking for the next prey.

Soon, her blue eyes found the one who had scratched her cheek.

“…This is, there’s no other crazy bitch like her.”

The revolutionary muttered as he met Lorena’s eyes.

Her appearance, bloodthirsty for killing without caring for her own body, made even the revolutionaries who had been through many battles shiver.

“Huff!”

Lorena did not stop and ran towards the next prey.

Nearby, sword attacks flew at her, but she only dodged the fatal ones and aimed for her target.

Clang-!

She stabbed her sword.

But the opponent easily blocked it with the sword and shrugged off the impact.

In that state.

“Die!”

“Drop dead!”

Two revolutionaries who were waiting for a chance rushed at her from the side.

At that moment.

Whish.

Lorena disappeared from the sight of the revolutionaries.

“What!”

The revolutionaries, who had accidentally crossed swords with each other, quickly withdrew their swords and looked around for Lorena.

Thud.

Then, they felt a cold sensation and pain in their stomachs and looked down.

“Die.”

Lorena was lying flat on the floor, throwing away her sword and stabbing their abdomen with a dagger.

She had dropped her sword and pulled out another weapon as soon as she was caught.

“You… you damn bitch.”

The revolutionary gritted his teeth.

He felt a bitter taste of blood in his mouth.

He wanted to stab Lorena’s back with his sword right away.

But his head was dizzy and his arm had no strength.

Thud!

The revolutionary fell back, rolling his eyes.

Lorena spat out the coagulated blood and pulled out a new dagger from her bosom.

‘Only six left.’

She had killed about four revolutionaries, but there were still more left.

They had shut their mouths, seeing how she had killed them.

They seemed to realize the seriousness of the situation.

She thought that if she kept attacking like before, she might die without doing anything.

“Are you really the daughter of Beowulf?”

The man who looked the highest in rank among the enemies stepped forward and asked.

He had been watching her from afar, with his hand in his pocket, even when the other revolutionaries ran at her.

The short-haired man’s exposed arms and thighs reminded her of logs.

Lorena gritted her teeth at the man.

“Shut up.”

“That action of throwing away your sword and stabbing with a dagger is something that a swordsman would never think of. The Beowulf I know is the same.”

“Shut up. Before I kill you.”

Lorena growled and the man laughed loudly.

“Anyway, the only thing left between you and us is killing and being killed.”

The reason why four revolutionaries had died so far was partly because of their lack of skill, but mostly because of the difference between Lorena and the nobles they had faced.

The nobles’ swordsmanship was rigid and conservative.

That’s why their swords had clear forms and each sword technique had a clear goal.

But Lorena was not like that.

She was like a weed that grew wild in the wilderness.

But she was not just rough like a third-rate mercenary.

Her basics were solid, whether the Beowulf Duke taught her himself or not.

She was just too free and wild.

The revolutionaries must have thought of the nobles they had faced so far.

But that was not a good way to deal with Lorena.

So he was curious.

The noblest of the noble families.

The golden leaf of the Beowulf Duke family.

Why did she use swordsmanship that only street mercenaries would do?

Crack.

Lorena had no intention of answering the man’s question.

She clenched the dagger and scraped up all the mana to the bottom of the tank.

Ssssh.

A cold chill that started from her navel spread throughout her body.

Even though it was not such a cold day, a faint breath came out of her mouth, and her skin turned white everywhere.

Lorena shivered and aimed her dagger at the man.

The Beowulf Family, Vision.

“Snow Soul”

It was the family’s vision that she had never used since she left the family.

She didn’t care that the Snow Soul would ruin her body, since she hadn’t trained her cold resistance after ‘that incident’.

She didn’t come looking for the ‘revolutionaries’ to chat anyway.

She wandered around with one determination: to kill them on sight.

Lorena estimated how long her body could deploy the Snow Soul.

‘I can only use the Snow Soul for about a minute in this state.’

She had to kill all the enemies here within that time.

She was short on time, and there were many enemies.

Lorena’s eyes flared up with rage again.

Whoosh.

Her figure flew through the corridor in an instant.

“Snow Soul 1st Technique – Lidong (Beginning of Winter)”

A white frost bloomed everywhere in the corridor from the cold that Lorena spewed out.

That was not all.

“…What, what is this!”

“My body suddenly.”

The revolutionaries were flustered by their heavy bodies, unlike before.

Lorena ran at them and stabbed them with her dagger.

Thud. Thud. Thud.

“Argh!”

“Ugh!”

The revolutionaries could not block Lorena’s dagger with their dull bodies and died.

Her eyes turned to the last man left.

He had been watching with his hand in his pocket, even when his subordinates were all killed.

‘Cowardly bastard.’

Lorena slammed the floor.

Ssssh-!

A storm of coldness swept between Lorena and the man.

It meant that the Snow Soul planted in Lorena’s tank was running wild.

She didn’t have enough time to stop and recover, so she ran at the man.

And she stabbed her dagger at his neck.

Clack.

But he had pulled his hand out of his pocket at some point.

The tip of the dagger was easily caught by the man’s left hand.

Bang-!

A huge wind blew between Lorena and the man, due to the enormous energy in Lorena’s attack.

“Cough!”

Blood poured out of Lorena’s mouth.

Her blood vessels had burst because she couldn’t handle the Snow Soul that she had drawn beyond the limit.

And blood dripped from the man’s left hand that blocked the dagger.

But he didn’t show any sign of pain.

The man’s eyes were surprised.

He thought Lorena’s level was at best 6th grade.

She was a puppy compared to him.

But Lorena had wounded his arm.

“How interesting. Is this Beowulf’s ‘Snow Soul’?”

The man opened his mouth, holding the dagger that Lorena stabbed.

But Lorena didn’t seem to have any intention of answering his words.

His big eyes watched Lorena.

A hateful look in her eyes.

Her will to take one more with her, rather than saving her own life.

What made that Beowulf girl like that?

As far as he knew, there were people who committed suicide after being persecuted by Beowulf.

But he had never heard of any mischief that the revolutionaries had done against Beowulf.

‘No, maybe another faction did something…’

The man had no personal grudge against the Beowulf family.

And he didn’t feel unfamiliar with Lorena either, even though it was his first time seeing her face.

He had heard a lot of stories about her from someone he knew.

‘I wanted to subdue and take her, but that would be difficult.’

No matter how much he liked her personally, that was a private matter.

He would have subdued her if he could persuade her, but… it seemed impossible.

The disciples of the mad sword who came with him had not yet sent a signal that they had kidnapped the Imperial Teacher.

That meant that something unexpected had happened.

So it was better to kill than to create another variable.

‘I won’t be able to get along with him anymore.’

The man smirked, thinking of his young friend who always smiled sadly and talked about his sister.

He finished his thoughts and punched Lorena’s abdomen with his right hand like lightning.

“Kugh!”

Lorena’s eyes widened as she allowed the attack.

Clang!

She dropped the dagger she was holding and her body flew into the air.

In that state, she was grabbed by the collar by the man.

“It’s a pity that I didn’t have to kill you if we hadn’t met here.”

The man smiled bitterly and clenched his fist.

He had to show some results, even if he didn’t bother to save the other revolutionaries, since he had taken the money and came on this train.

His fist was covered with black swirls.

It was different from the bloody energy that the other revolutionaries emitted.

If the revolutionaries’ energy was violent and chaotic.

The man’s energy was predatory and solid.

“The only kindness I can do is to send you without pain.”

Lorena sensed her end from the man’s action of slowly pulling back his fist.

She felt enough power in his fist to turn her flesh into dust.

Yet.

Lorena’s eyes did not show any fear, but were still consumed by hatred.

“Then farewell.”

With that, the man’s fist stretched out towards Lorena.

Lorena’s memories from birth to now flashed through her head like a lantern.

‘I… am dying now.’

Her eyes closed slowly.

She felt his fist approaching her nose.

Clash!

Boom!

A tremendous sword strike flew at the man’s fist from the other side.

Lorena felt a floating sensation as if she was flying.

“Tsk, don’t let her die.”

A spiteful voice came from behind.

‘…Cruel?’

How could she forget the voice of that guy who had been bickering with her since the training camp.

How did he.

She didn’t think long.

Thud.

Someone picked her up.

Lorena opened her eyes that had closed.

What she saw was a blond and handsome face.

And a brilliant golden armor with an eagle on it.

Lorena’s eyes widened.

She knew about that armor.

She exclaimed in astonishment.

“Ro, Royal Knights?!”

The strongest knight order of the empire.

It was the appearance of the Royal Knights who guarded the royal family.

“Long time no see, Beowulf Lady.”

Lorena stared blankly at the Royal Knight who smiled at her.

“Kik, look at that stupid face.”

She heard a mocking voice.

Cruel was still spiteful and rude.

* * *

One of the Royal Knights 7, Kyle, quickly laid Lorena, who had fainted, on the floor and calmed the coldness that was eroding her inside.

Then he looked at the man who had fallen far away.

“Long time no see, you too. The top wanted criminal, Black Tiger Amur.”

“Kahahat! You said it wasn’t a hard job, but there are more annoying things than I thought.”

Kyle’s face hardened at the man, Amur’s words.

“Are you saying that you are following someone’s orders?”

“Well, if you look at the situation, isn’t that so?”

As Kyle glared and drew his sword, Amur snickered.

“Do you want to have a fight here? I don’t mind, but you might be uncomfortable.”

Kyle’s eyes showed a hint of embarrassment.

It was as Amur said.

There were still over a hundred passengers on the train, including Lorena who had fainted.

It was not hard to fight the Black Tiger, but it was inevitable that others would be affected by the aftermath.

“I’m going to get out of here, so how about we call it even? It wouldn’t be a bad deal for you, would it?”

The Imperial Teacher is still on this train, you know.

Kyle’s eyes sparkled at Amur’s words.

“…Take care of your neck.”

“Haha! There are many who covet my neck. I can’t promise anything. Oh, tell that little lady congratulations for surviving.”

Amur broke the train window with his fist and jumped out of there.

Cruel laughed at Amur’s appearance.

“Did he just commit suicide?”

Jumping off a train running at a tremendous speed was an action that even excellent knights could not avoid serious injuries.

Kyle shook his head at Cruel’s words.

“He ran away.”

If it was the ‘Black Tiger’ who had reached the 3rd grade 10 years ago, he would survive even if he collided with a train running like this.

He wouldn’t die just by jumping off.

Kyle sighed deeply.

Then.

Clang-!

Aaargh!

A scream rang out from the front car.

It was too far for a first-class scream.

“The Imperial Teacher must be in the engine room.”

With that, Kyle put aside his business with Amur and headed for the engine room.

His mission was.

“Lately, the Imperial Teacher seems to have a lot of worries.”

“Scoundrels will attack the train.”

“Rescue him before he dies.”

To rescue the Imperial Teacher before he dies.
