BNHA: Accelerator The Strongest Hero

Chapter 211: Chapter 210: At This Cost

The existence of the human AIM diffusion field is a macroscopic manifestation of wave-particle duality, following Heisenberg's quantum uncertainty theory that influences the world.

Up until now, through his [Whisperer] Quirk, he has gained [Knowledge] and [Memories] from another world to create and use the [Fantasy Hand] system, which has allowed him to command a magnificent power of hundreds of thousands in the other world.

And this is not even its limit.

Every moment, more providers—or rather, victims—join in.

In just the brief seconds of conversation between Accelerator and Kiyama Harumi, over three million weak or Quirkless individuals in District 10 entered a state of forced synchronization, and the growth of this power shows no signs of stopping.

This is the "malice" within human nature.

If there were a special machine capable of observing the actual AIM diffusion field, one would undoubtedly see the scene in someone's eyes.

It would appear as a ghostly, almost imperceptible, hollow vortex existing between existence and non-existence.

Based on a certain threshold within [Quirk] and [Superpower], it creates a hollow vortex with a diameter of several dozen meters, roughly the height of two stacked buildings.

Even Accelerator couldn't easily explain the true nature of the so-called [Unknown Field] power.

He hypothesized that it was highly likely a collection of AIM diffusion fields.

Kiyama Harumi, who controlled such great power, showed no joy or fear on her face.

That was the attitude of a researcher from Academy City, one he was most familiar with.

Cold as ice, calm as smoke.

Facing Accelerator, Kiyama Harumi slowly raised her left hand and said,

"If we aim for that [direction], the model with the highest success rate would be—what the other world calls [multiple ability users]."

"The theory surpasses its original form as [talented individuals] and has the necessary steps to reach the potential of the [Unknown Field]."

Before her words could finish, the concrete ground split neatly apart as if cut by a knife, creating a clean opening.

With that phenomenon, a massive Todoroki followed, producing a blinding light from its front like a welding gun, as explosive shockwaves erupted outward.

Accelerator leaned slightly to the right, effortlessly dodging while using the wind to gently lift and protect Eri behind him.

Around them, countless vectors created a strong gust that howled like two thick, blue arms wrapping around Amajiki and heading toward Kiyama.

Accelerator chuckled,

"Terms and names mean nothing."

"I have a mountain of things to deal with over here!"

In fact, based on his changing combat style, he seemed a bit impatient.

This bad habit should have been completely overcome, like erasing a wrong word on a blank sheet of paper. It wasn't an act or a moment of impulse like an ordinary person might have.

Rather, Accelerator was trying to verify the truth of the information gained from their brief clash.

In other words, he was proving the project's proposition.

The core principle driving the power used by his enemy—was it a superpower or a Quirk?

All of Accelerator's actions were based on this understanding.

As expected, Kiyama Harumi stood her ground, not moving but instead withstanding the two storms, which, based on observation, appeared to be a protective [spherical shield] Quirk.

Accelerator's storm was an extreme acceleration of air flow achieved through vector manipulation.

However, what was visible to the naked eye did not reflect the microscopic details.

Kiyama Harumi continued to talk,

"Accelerator, why keep experimenting with those useless attempts?"

"If I couldn't use the true power of a [multiple ability user], how could I possibly stand before you?"

With a thought, multiple blue and white electric bolts formed from powerful currents of billions of volts hovered behind her.

This was an attack capable of moving at real light speed along a fixed path.

The electric charge contained in it is strong enough to turn flesh to ash on contact.

If the distance is sufficient, this series of light-speed strikes can attack any distant corner of the Earth in an instant.

Of course, such a powerful attack must have its limits.

The length of these lightning strikes is only a few thousand meters. However, the extreme heat they generate causes the air along the way to expand violently, creating invisible waves that produce a thunderous sound.

True light speed, true thunder.

Even Accelerator cannot dodge an attack of this real speed; he can only react with his body in a split second.

He needs to risk everything (his own life) to determine its authenticity while prioritizing Eri's safety.

If he chooses the latter and this attack indeed contains a power that cannot be reflected by his formula, then someone will die.

A true death.

Just like over a year ago when he took the bullets in another world, this would be the extreme choice of ringing his own death knell.

The immense terror contained between life and death has a frightening power that is hard to describe for all mortals.

Even Accelerator finds himself thinking for a moment: does he have to risk his life again for a little girl?

Past experiences of near-death do not lessen; the fear represented by death can even deepen it.

Thus, most mortals lose their courage to face death after one brave moment, or perhaps their faith.

True faith, regardless of good or evil, earns the right to be praised because those who possess it undeniably have the courage to stand firm at any time and place.

Looking at the dazzling lightning that might hold some [unknown] danger, Accelerator seems to naturally choose the latter.

It is precisely because he has gained more precious things to protect in this world that he can be so resolute.

If he cannot decipher the power of Kiyama Harumi's [unknown domain], he won't be able to see what lies beyond death.

Without even needing to imagine, it's clear that it must be a place of immense sadness and despair.

For the first time, Accelerator, who has always struggled to rise, actively chooses to confront this wave of attacks with his own life on the line.

In his heart, there's only one thought, a rare and strong conviction: he must end such a future here.
