Chapter 4: Chapter 4 : First Quest
The four guardians coaxed Tangtang for a long time.
They were trying to offer the best service they could grant. The guardians knew that neither of them would choose this realm if there was another option available, but due to the circumstances at that moment, their lord ended up making a deal with the beast god.
Now that Tangtang's consciousness was restored, transmigrating to any world he prefers would be easy, but because of the agreement, they need to make him willingly stay and do his part of the deal.
Tangtang was oblivious to the guardian's dilemma.
At first he really had qualms about staying in this world, but after giving it some thought, it was actually a good thing. Like a blank canvas, his life will start from scratch. If he disregards the danger involved, this world development will have no boundaries.
He wasn't planning on responding to the guardian's intense persuasion until he heard Ero say, "This world is full of attractive men. Now that you're a sub-beast, you can be with anybody you want."
"Really?"
"Yes! Yes!"
The four fluff balls become energetic after hearing Tangtang's inquiry. Like a catalyst, they started to exaggeratedly describe all the good qualities of the beast men from top to bottom.
Gae: All the beastmen were so handsome that those actors in your previous world don't hold a candle. Their faces are so perfect that it looks as though the goddess Aphrodite crafted them herself.
Phi: They have explosive muscles, and being embraced by their powerful arms will undoubtedly make you feel amazing.
Nia: Sexy.
Ero: The beastmen were not only handsome and had a perfect body, but their endurance was also exceptional, matched with their long and big penises that will surely send you to cloud nine.
Tangtang was chocked because of their words. Children speaking obscene words is really terrifying, but their words also piqued his interest.
"Cough! Kids shouldn't speak like that."
Ero giggled, "We're older than you think. We already saw and experienced a lot of things. You can even call us grandpa."
Tangtang thought it would be convincing if his tone of voice was not as soft and sticky as that of a five-year-old child. "Hahaha. Then, grandpas, what should I do in this world? Do I have a mission or something?"
Gae: Yes, you have. Your mission is to live your life to the fullest and help this world improve along the way.
He was taken aback. "That's it?"
"Yes!" The four guardians answered earnestly at the same time.
Tangtang already intended to live his life as he wished. Now that he will be living in this world, he also plans to improve at least their basic accommodations with his limited modern knowledge.
Of course, he is not too conceited to claim that he can accomplish it instantly since development always takes time. Unknowingly, his thought is very in line with the beast god's plan.
What he didn't expect is that it would also be his mission.
Everything is so good that Tangtang can't help but feel a little suspicious.
A lot of questions were occupying Tangtang's mind, making him confused and a little dazed. He wanted to ask the guardians for the answers, believing that they would not lie to him. But he had a gut feeling that this is not the right time.
As the guardians of love and lust, they were quite sensitive to emotions. The four of them immediately notice the emotional changes of their ward, Tangtang.
Tangtang was showing curiosity but didn't want to ask any questions. That's why the four guardians will also choose to feign innocence for the time being. Answering questions and proactively disclosing information are two different things. There is also some information that Tangtang was not allowed to know yet, not until he finished his trial.
Gae hovered in front of Tangtang, and then a blue screen appeared. "This is the interface where you can see your task. Just think of it, and it will immediately appear or disappear."
"The tasks you will receive are related to your daily life. It is divided into two categories: the main quest and the sub-quest. The main quest is the tasks that will directly affect you and the people around you, while the sub-quests are tasks that will suddenly appear in unexpected events."
Tangtang thought that his life would feel like an RPG.
Sitting on the soft grass surrounded by the greenery while breathing fresh air, he listens attentively to Gae.
"The reward you can receive upon completion of each quest is either tangible or intangible objects that you can freely use."
"Intangible object?"
"Yes, it is mostly recipes or knowledge that you can use in this realm. You can also receive some buffs to strengthen your body depending on the situation."
Tangtang nodded and asked, "Is there any penalty if I didn't complete the quest on time?"
"Yes, but it's actually more an effect of the cause than a penalty. The tasks were our way of helping you without having direct involvement in this realm," Gae explained.
Tangtang nodded in understanding.
Gae continued to explain the other function of the interface. "The heart icon in the upper right corner is the call button. If you want us to leave, just say it or press it twice, and once if you need us."
"Can other people see you guys?" Tangtang asks.
"No, only you can hear and see us because you are our chosen ward, and we are your guardian. We are already connected, so you can also communicate with us through your mind."
He frowns, "Can you hear my thoughts?"
"Yes, only if you allow us."
Tangtang suddenly felt uncomfortable knowing that someone would always know what he was thinking, but it was more convenient than being seen talking to himself.
"I see."
"The icon on the lower right was the shop, where you can buy things using points."
"Where can I get points?"
"Every task completed will be evaluated, and the points you will receive will depend on the result. An extra effort can earn extra points."
Tangtang tried to click on the shop icon, but nothing happened.
"The shop is currently closed. It will open once you earn 100 points."
The more Tangtang listened, the more he realized that what Gae was explaining was very similar to those system functions he read in books. He wants to ask about the relationship between the two, but he is afraid that if he mentions the word system, the four fluff balls might get excited again.
"The treasure trove icon is your inventory. Every reward you get or item you buy in the shop can be stored on it."
"Can I store things from this world in the inventory?"
Tangtang thought that with this world not having any means of transportation, it would be beneficial to have a portable space where he could store things.
"I'm sorry, Tangtang. You can't store things from the outside world inside the inventory, only the rewards and items bought in the shop," Gae explained but immediately added, afraid that Tangtang would request a refund again. "But there is an item capable of doing that in the shop. If you have enough points, you can buy it in the future."
Tangtang nodded as Gae continued with his explanation of the interface's function.
Every feature of the interface that could be helpful to Tangtang in the future was carefully described by Gae. If Tangtang doesn't understand something, he will ask questions, and the other guardians will answer.
He's not sure how long they were chatting, but when Tangtang got exhausted, he lay down once again while the four fluff balls cuddled up to him. Their soft fur makes him feel sleepy.
Gae: Go to sleep. You need more rest since your body is still weak. Tomorrow will be a new day.
Tangtang noticed the sky was already getting dark. Without a second thought, he looked for a good position and slowly closed his eyes.

"Are you guys sure that this is the right way?"
Ero: We don't know, but we make sure to choose the safest path.
Tangtang sighed.
It is the third time he has asked this question.
His feet already feel sore, but he continues walking with a long and thick branch that he is using as a walking stick.
Let's go back three hours ago...
He was woken up again by the loud caws of the giant birds flying in a circle at the top of the tall trees. Instead of feeling irritated like yesterday, he feels refreshed.
Breathing fresh air without any pollution the moment he wakes up brightens his day. This must be the longest and most comfortable sleep he ever had.
He picked up some berries and fruits that were in the nearby bushes and trees to eat as breakfast.
"Tangtang, our first quest is here!" Ero suddenly shouted.
"What is the first quest?" Tantang asked, his voice tinged with anticipation.
Then a blue screen popped out in front of him.
[Main Quest #1: Find a tribe to take shelter before the night comes.
Time limit: 15:17:09
Reward: Brick Recipe
Failure: Death]
"Death?"
"For a sub-beast, being alone in the forest at night is very dangerous and might really cause death," Gae explained.
Phi floated to his side and rubbed his cheeks. "Don't worry, Tangtang, we were here to help you complete your quest."
Ero: We can't help you physically, but we can guide you to avoid dangers.
"Then let's go!" Tangtang immediately stood up and was about to run when he realized that he didn't know where the tribes were located. "Can you guys tell me where the nearest tribe is?"
Gae: There are 5 large tribes, 102 medium tribes, and 238 small tribes recorded on the Gaia archipelago, but the exact location of those tribes is undetermined because of their constant migration. We're sorry, Tang Tang.
The four guardians feel dejected.
"No worries, there are 345 tribes in total. It is impossible not to find at least a small tribe, right?" Tangtang said, not only to comfort the four fluff balls but also for himself.
Death for the first quest failure and a brick recipe as a reward—isn't it too harsh?
Is the recipe useful? Aren't bricks only made out of clay? Why need a recipe?
Tangtang sighed.
The value of the reward can only be determined at a later time, but he can't ignore the penalty with the timer already running.
Tangtang opened the interface and clicked a radar icon, whereupon a 300-meter radius detector will be activated. This is one of the functions of the interface Gae taught him yesterday.
Before leaving, he gathered more fruits. He liked these fruits so much, especially the heart-shaped berries, because they were sweet and cute.
And that was three hours ago.
Gaia was very different from Earth. Here, 36 hours make up a day. With four-month durations for each of their four seasons—winter, spring, summer, and fall—they have 16 months in a year. With a life expectancy of 500 years, people here also have substantially longer lifespans.
From plants to animals, practically everything on Gaia is larger and longer than on Earth.
Tangtang was curious to know if what Ero said yesterday is true—that the beast's dicks were much longer and bigger too.
"Hehehe." Just imagining it makes him drool.
He met a lot of men on Earth before, and those who can satisfy him can be counted on one hand since most of them have average size, which is normal for Asians. Here in Gaia, he cannot help but raise his expectations.
"You look so happy, Tangtang," Phi said when he saw Tangtang laugh.
"Don't mind me! I'm just looking forward to staying in this world."
Ero giggled.
"Anyway, you said earlier that there are five large tribes. What are they?"
Gae: Winged Tiger Tribe, Winged Wolf Tribe, Winged Bear Tribe, Winged Python Tribe, and Merman Tribe.
"All beasts have wings?"
Gae: Some tribes don't have wings, like the Merman and Whales, since they reside on the sea.
Ero: Just because they were called the Winged Tribe doesn't mean all of them have wings, but most of them do.
"Oh! I see."
Tangtang was planning to pretend to be a sub-beast who had been separated from his group. It will be troublesome if he finds a tribe and is unsure of what to do and says the incorrect thing, which is why he has to understand more about this world.
He hopes to find a tribe soon.
