BTTH: The Legend Of Xiu Emperor

Chapter 90: Xiao Yixian

The little girl didn't say anything; she got up and prepared to run away again. But just as she was about to flee, Yun Xui grabbed her. Taking advantage of the moment, Yun Xui lifted her up.

"Run? Do you think you can escape?"

The little girl remained silent, struggling with all her might to break free.

Purple mist began to rise from the girl's body. It was poisonous, exactly like the fog that permeated the entire mountain village. However, as time passed, the poisonous fog enveloping the village gradually thinned.

In contrast, the mist emanating from the little girl was incredibly thick.

The truth was clear.

The reason for the tragic state of the mountain village was none other than the little girl in front of him.

The poisonous fog crept towards Yun Xui, but as it neared, it stopped one centimeter away, unable to move forward. No matter how dangerous the poisonous mist was, it posed no threat to Yun Xui.

Yun Xui looked at the dirty girl struggling in his grip. Stunned, he quickly guessed who she was.

An Evil Poison Body. Other than her, no one else in the entire Douqi Continent could possess such a unique physique during this era.

"The word 'Fate' is so profound, beyond description," Yun Xui murmured.

The little girl continued to resist, but Yun Xui simply stood firm, letting her struggle. He relied on his strength, unmoving.

Despite her efforts, the girl realized she couldn't shake him. His composure unnerved her.

She looked at Yun Xui as if he were a monster.

"Are you done struggling?" Yun Xui asked with a faint smile when he noticed her stillness.

The girl nodded reluctantly.

"Then I'll let you down."

Yun Xui set the girl down gently. As soon as her feet touched the ground, she bolted again without hesitation.

Having experienced the dangers of the continent from a young age, she trusted no one but herself.

"Still running?"

Yun Xui smiled helplessly. His figure blurred, transforming into a shadow. He reappeared before the girl in an instant.

The little girl collided with him again and fell to the ground.

This time, she remained seated, looking up at Yun Xui.

Yun Xui lowered his gaze, meeting her eyes.

"Come with me. I can solve your problem," he said.

The girl stared at him, silent. After a few moments, she asked, "Can I trust you?"

"Do you have a choice?" Yun Xui replied. "You can't escape from my grasp. You have no other option but to accept my help."

The girl stood up, her eyes scanning the corpses scattered around. "I am an ominous person. Wherever I go, death follows. This village is just one example. Are you sure you want to take me with you?"

"Yes." Yun Xui nodded. "To ordinary people, you are an ill omen. But to me, you are a treasure. Follow me, and I will give you everything you desire."

The girl hesitated, then nodded. "Fine. But before I leave, you must help me bury all the villagers. Can you do that?"

"Of course," Yun Xui agreed.

---

Over the next three days and nights, Yun Xui and the girl dug graves and buried the villagers.

The once-lively village was now eerily silent, reeking of death. Graves filled the land, marking its tragic end. The poisonous fog lingered, deterring anyone from stepping foot in the area.

The little girl knelt before a grave, tears streaming down her face. It was clear that someone buried there held a special place in her heart. Yun Xui stood silently beside her, offering no words.

On the fourth day, Yun Xui handed her a silk scarf. "Wipe your tears," he said softly.

The girl took the scarf and dried her face.

Yun Xui then handed her some roasted meat. "Eat something. You haven't eaten in days. You're mine now, and I won't allow you to starve."

"Thank you," the girl whispered, taking the food. She ate while crying.

"Is it not good?" Yun Xui asked.

"No... it's delicious," she replied, her voice choked with sobs. "It's just... apart from my mother, no one has ever been this kind to me."

---

As night fell, the two sat on the grass surrounded by graves. The atmosphere was heavy with sorrow, yet neither seemed affected by the eeriness. Fireflies flitted around briefly before falling lifeless to the ground.

The girl wasn't surprised. She was used to bringing misfortune wherever she went.

Yun Xui broke the silence. "We can leave tomorrow. I've fulfilled your request."

The girl looked at him and hesitated. "Can you wait another month? I want to spend more time with my mother. After we leave, I don't know when I'll return."

Yun Xui stared at her for a moment before nodding. "Alright."

"Thank you," she said.

"What's your name?" Yun Xui asked after a pause.

The girl looked at him and replied softly, "My name is Xiao Yixian."
