Chapter 7: Chapter 7 Why are you so troublesome!
Mingshu felt no sympathy for the self-inflicted Consort Shu, but she did not want Si Chu to be tainted by killing because of her, especially in full view of the public.
After all, in the eyes of many, he was indeed not a nice man.
Besides, Consort Shu could not die, at least not now.
Mingshu noticed his rigid posture and did not give it much thought. Instead, she spoke softly, persuading again, "Emperor, please calm your anger."
The words "Emperor, please calm your anger" from the mouths of others were thick with fear and despair, but when she uttered the same phrase, it seemed to carry only its simple literal meaning.
Her gaze was calm and soft, her voice delicate, asking him not to be angry.
A flash of irritation rushed up from his heart; Si Chu looked at her coldly, his lips slightly parted as he said with measured indifference, "Get out of my way."
Having seen such an unbearable side of him, she must also think, like the others, that he was a completely irrational madman, right?
Scared to death of him on the inside, yet she still had to feign calmness and urge him not to kill anyone.
It really was hard on her.
Si Chu's lips curved up mockingly, his gaze ice-cold, but a dull pain emerged in some corner of his heart.
It was so fast it almost felt like an illusion.
Despite his indifferent expression, the grievances in his eyes seemed almost ready to spill over.
Mingshu sighed, her heart suddenly softening, and she felt a bit like patting his head.
But at the moment, that would be a dangerous idea.
As dangerous as petting a tiger on its behind.
So she pinched her thigh, and with a pitiful pout, looked at him, "Emperor, if you want me to leave, at least let's take care of the wound first, right?"
Si Chu followed her gaze to his injured hand, stared at it for two seconds, then looked at her expressionlessly, his tone harsh, "This little injury won't kill me, now get out!"
She was pretending to be pitiful again, without shedding a single tear—this time, he wouldn't be fooled!
Mingshu pinched herself again. She was sure her thighs must have turned red by now!
Her big watery eyes stared straight at him, eyelashes wet, about to cry. Just when Si Chu thought she would come up with some sweet nothings to deceive him, he saw her clutch her chest weakly, her complexion turning pale, her eyes innocent, "But I feel faint at the sight of blood and can't catch my breath."
Si Chu: "..."
She furrowed her brows slightly and exaggeratedly bent over, weakly exclaiming, "Oh dear, my chest hurts!"
Si Chu's brows twitched, his gaze dropped to her hand clutching his sleeve tightly, his face as dark as the bottom of a pot.
Just as everyone was contemplating whether the Emperor would order the Noble Consort to be chopped up and thrown to the dogs the next second, Si Chu made his move.
His lips tight, he lifted the girl by the waist and hoisted her up, meeting her misty eyes, he said with an evil tone, "Why are you such a nuisance!"
Mingshu innocently blinked her eyes, laughing on the inside!
The cutie is so adorable!
Others, however, did not see any connection between "adorable" and the Tyrant.
Si Chu's frosty gaze swept over everyone. Those he looked at felt terrified to the core, thankful his gaze did not linger too long, "Summon the imperial physician! Leave two to clean up, and all other attendants out of my sight at once!"
Having said that, he whisked her away into the Inner Palace with a tempestuous demeanor.
The narrowly escaping Consort Shu clutched her neck and began to cry out loud amidst the concerned voices of the palace maids.
The palace maids also sighed in relief, still shaken as they glanced in the direction of the Inner Palace, while reevaluating the status of the inside Noble Consort.
