Chapter 20: 13
Pitou POV:
From what she studied of the human world, one of the main insecurities of these beings was in their adolescence and adulthood, apparently it had to do with the future they would take for their lives, their purpose of existence in the world had to be discovered.
That was really pathetic, these creatures weren't like her and her kind, even the 'irrational' animals knew from birth what they had to do.
Learning from their projectors was nothing more than training for their future, there are even species of snake that were born with venom as soon as they emerged from their eggs, already knowing what they had to do to survive.
And she is sure that this is a superior form of life, and not these bastards who had no idea what they were going to do in their futures, they were not like her, like her brothers, the chimera ants were exactly like an anthill, they all knew what had to be done from birth.
Their purpose was predefined by birth, they were born workers so they were eternally grateful for knowing what they had to do until the day they died, she was no different, created from the best of the queen to serve the best of the king.
This simple thought inflates her body and soul so much that she seems to reach nirvana, as humans call it.
Knowing that her existence is nothing more than a mere servant, protector, caretaker and helper to the most perfect being of her race is enough, she has no doubt that if he asked her to kill herself just for his entertainment she wouldn't even regret her own life.
So right now, this distance she is at from her king seems like torture, he has sent her on a special mission to infiltrate the kingdom of one of those who attacked his original anthill, the reign of an individual called the Black Panther, and prepare everything for tonight's invasion.
This kingdom so full of valuable resources, cutting-edge technology and vast knowledge will belong to its king.
The instructions were simple: pass through the invisibility curtain in front of her, then advance to the shields and look for weaknesses, if everything goes smoothly, she should reach the source and finally her battlement will be ready for a lightning invasion as he said.
But the only thing on her mind as she walks through the curtain is the pain in her chest at not having her king in her field of vision, she doesn't know if this mission was given because of the trust the king had in her, or a punishment for something she did but nothing came to mind, she was perfect as the sight of this sunset in front of her illuminating this immense landscape.
A vast field with occasional trees on the plain, everything so green and alive, just like her king.....
"Ha..ha..haha"
Apparently there she has been suffering from something that her food calls obsession, something so beautiful and pure according to her, something that humans said was capable of breaking down borders and boundaries.
That was the greatest demonstration of loyalty she could have to her king as proof, being obsessed with serving the only perfect being ever made on this planet, the only one she serves and will serve forever.
She feels her chest burn at the thought of it, it was this same feeling that made her restrict her diet since the fall of the original anthill to 'mature' women according to the humans, since by her behavioral analysis these were one of the things they most saw as a 'beautiful sight' and since then her body has been curving into a more feminine appearance unlike her original form at birth, Her ability as a *doctor* has helped her with small adjustments to create a more pleasing figure to the king, whom she has caught looking at on occasion and she has never felt as good as she does in those moments, although they are always very short, just as he has looked at other 'females' of our race, which also makes her happy that her king has so many varieties to rest his eyes on.
But coming out of her reverie of glory, she arrives at her destination, a precipice divided by a river.
She turns her eyes to better perceive the wall on the other side of the precipice, with immense ease she dequito several caves some with wider entrances and others thinner, all via one in particular caught her attention, one with an extremely polished exit, located right at the bottom of the precipice and another right above with the same characteristics, in both you could see metal corridors inside, and by the advice of her king on this mission, try not to be found until the right time, so the only most logical option would be the 'hard way'.
She didn't even notice when she threw herself into the middle of the pool, the dampness of the water droplets on her skin was pleasant, closing her eyes to enjoy the descent was inevitable.
Even with her eyes closed, there was only one image in her mind that made this moment more enjoyable. She put one of her hands on the wall, slowly braking her descent, the rocks breaking and falling before her hand, which wasn't even trying to break them, just to stop her fall while her mind was in a reverie.
In her mind's eye, she could see her king on top of that same hill, watching this kingdom fall in the face of today's attack, and the pride she would feel as she looked behind the shadow that the sunrise would cast against her body.
Her figurative face of satisfaction was shattered when her instincts told her that she had already arrived on the scene, so she let go of the wall and fell onto the metal track, walking slowly inside, her eyes scanning every corner of the corridor until she found a vent, a smile playing on her lip.
"Obsession...what a feeling.... is so incredible, I wonder if humans also feel it in this intensity and usefulness "
