Cobra Kai: New life

Chapter 17: chapter 17

David's POV

I had decided to buy a car on the day of the tournament to surprise Tory, but I changed my mind. Instead, I went to the LaRusso dealership after school. Once there, I simply made a call to Mr. LaRusso.

"Hello, Mr. LaRusso. It's me, David. You know, about what we talked about. Yeah, I've decided to buy it before the tournament. Okay, I'll wait for you outside."

After that brief chat with Mr. LaRusso, his wife, Amanda, came out to greet me.

"Hi, David."

"Hi, Mrs. LaRusso. I guess you already know I'm here to buy a car."

"Yes, and don't worry. I'll give you a special discount for being a Miyagi-Do student."

"A discount for being a student? Awesome, thanks!"

We walked around the dealership looking at cars. Minutes passed, and those minutes turned into hours.

"Mrs. LaRusso, the cars are great, but none of them are blowing me away like I hoped," I said.

"Well, we do have a few cars in the back that we haven't looked at yet. Want to check them out?"

"Of course!"

In the back, I was completely stunned by a car. It was like my lifelong dream brought to life—a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse, modified with a bright green paint job and gray designs. It looked just like Paul Walker's car from Fast and Furious. It left me speechless.

"I-I want that one. That beauty has to be mine, no matter the price," I said, pointing at the car.

"Well, it still needs to be inspected, but we can have it ready by tomorrow. I just need your license and a guardian's signature since you're still underage. Plus, the car needs to be registered under an adult's name," Amanda explained.

"And the price?" I asked.

"Don't worry, kid. With all the discounts, it shouldn't be too expensive—or at least I hope not. If it is, you'll have to work here to pay it off," she said with a teasing smile.

"Oh, by the way, Mrs. LaRusso, could you or Mr. LaRusso sign for me? My parents live in New York, and this would be a huge favor," I said, practically begging.

"Don't worry, we can work that out easily. Just give me your license and come back tomorrow for your new car," Amanda said, taking my license before quickly ushering me out of the dealership.

"That was weird," I muttered to myself.

A Quick Note

Guys, I want to clarify something—David is an unreliable narrator. What does that mean? It means that things he's told us about his life might not actually be how they happened. Why am I telling you this, you ask? Because it could come in handy for future episodes—it's our mystery tool for later.

P.S.: I tried to make a joke like in Mickey Mouse Funhouse. My little sister forces me to watch it during my rare free time… Please, save me.

P.S II: Sorry for the short chapter

Sorry if these chapters seem a bit "boring," but I'm gearing up for the action in the next ones!
