Confined Love

Chapter 12: Chapter 12

The words hovered between us like an atomic bomb and it took me several minutes to process them. As soon as it struck me that the kiss that I had so shamelessly given into had been nothing but a plot to humiliate me further, heat raced up my face.

"You can't do that!" I snarled.

His mouth pressed into a thin line, "I can do anything I want, kotenok."

"Give me the phone," I tried to reach for it, and he simply raised his hand till it was dangling over my head.

"Hmm, come get it then."

I stepped forward and tried to reach for it, but the height difference between us had never been clearer than at that moment. Dimitri was a giant of a man and I was only just realising that he could easily snap me in two. A shiver rolled through me at the thought of it.

And then a different kind of shiver rolled through me as I noticed how perfectly still he was while I ground all over his body to reach the phone. My breasts were pressed against his arm, rubbing up and down as I stretched and jumped.

To my utter shock, they hardened to stiff points in my bra and I stumbled back in horror, "You can't send him that," I said quietly.

"And why is that?"

If he assumed that he could hurt my husband- I mean, ex husband- by sending him that picture, then he was dead wrong. But who was I to correct him.

"What will you give me in return for not sending this photo?" His voice was silky smooth, almost taunting.

My jaw clenched, "What do I have left? You want to take the clothes off my back? Will that finally be enough for you, since you've collected the last thing I had."

He cocked his head, "And what's that?"

"My life," my mouth trembled, "I have nothing else to give you and if you're expecting me to spread my legs for you_"

"You don't need to worry about that," he mocked, "I don't expect you to spread your legs for me. In fact, you're the last person I would ever think of taking to my bed."

I bit my lip, relieved and disappointed at the same time. Why I was disappointed I would never be able to tell but I decided to blame it all on the fact that my head was a mess after my prison ordeal.

The dinging sound pulled me out of my musings and when I glanced at him sharply, I found him clicking on his phone.

"Now that our first photo as a married couple is out of the way," he tucked the phone back into his pocket, "Get to work."

I looked around the Immaculate interior of the house, "Get to work doing what exactly?"

"I'm expecting lunch in about," he checked the heavy Rolex watch on his wrist, "Thirty minutes. My preferred list of meals is printed and waiting for you on the kitchen counter. Don't keep me waiting, Zahra, or you won't like the consequences."

I gaped at him, "I don't even know how to_" I was going to say I didn't even know how to find the kitchen in this mausoleum of a house, but he cut in.

"You have a few minutes to learn how to cook, if I were you, I'd get to it," he said coldly, "Your privileged, pampered lifestyle ended at the door."

Without another glance, he turned around and disappeared down one of the hallways, leaving me feeling defeated and bitter. If only he knew what my life had been before now.

"You must be the new wife," a sharp voice said from behind me.

I spun around, startled and met dark grey eyes belonging to a petite girl with a short blonde bob and wearing a maid outfit.

"Who are you?"

"That's none of your business," she sneered, "Just watch your back in this house, you gold digging, pompous bitch. You snatched the boss from Alena and you think we'll welcome you here with open arms after weaseling your way into this house."

I had had enough. I was honestly so so done with everyone making me out to be the bad guy. All I had ever done was put my head down and obey, and what did I get from it? Nothing but ridicule from every direction.

Hysterical laughter tore through my throat and I clutched my painfully empty stomach, wheezing and trying to stop my laughter.

From my peripheral vision, I could see the maid staring at me like I was crazy and maybe I had. Maybe I had finally broken the last thread holding me to my sanity.

"Be a darling and point me in the direction of the kitchen," i finally managed to say.

"So you can poison the boss? I don't think so," she crossed her arms over her chest.

I snorted, "I don't think anything except casting a spell to bind him back to hell where he came from can work against him. So please, get out of my way before you put me in trouble."

Narrowing her eyes at me, she stepped out of my path, but just as I made to walk past her, she stuck out her leg.

"Argh!" I cried as I tripped over her leg and lost my footing, falling to the ground. My head bounced against the edge of the wall painfully before I finally fell face flat.

"What did I ever do to you?" I wailed as pain buzzed through my head.

"When I'm done with you, you're going to wish you had never come here," she snapped, "I've not even started with you."

With that threat ringing in the air, she whirled around and marched out, leaving me sobbing on the ground. I tried to get up and just when I put my weight on my feet, it buckled under me and I dropped to the floor with a scream of pain.

It seemed I had messed up my ankle in the fall, I still didn't know where the kitchen was located and my thirty minutes was running faster than a waterfall.

"Why me?" I whispered miserably , then buried my face in my hands and sobbed even harder.
