Chapter 584 - 583: Return of the Four Seas Dragon Ball

Chapter 584: Chapter 583: Return of the Four Seas Dragon Ball

Two hawthorn trees stand in front of the Dao Sect, both of them recently planted by Bai Hongtu.

Even before entering the Dao Sect, Jiang Li could already sense a palpable hostility.

Two gatekeepers were unfolding a banner that read:

Welcome Immortal Artifacts to study at the Dao Sect, Welcome Yu Yin to visit the Dao Sect, and by the way, Welcome Jiang Li.

“Ridiculous! How could you mix up the proper order of importance like this? Is Jiang Li not important?” Bai Hongtu reprimanded the disciplinarians at the gate.

The disciplinarians quickly realized their mistake and hastily changed the banner to:

Welcome Immortal Artifacts to study at the Dao Sect, Welcome Yu Yin to visit the Dao Sect, and by the way, Welcome VERY IMPORTANT Jiang Li

Bai Hongtu nodded in satisfaction, then noticed that Jiang Li and Yu Yin were already there: “Oh, you two arrived quickly! The banner was barely ready when you showed up.”

Jiang Li could tell at a glance that this was a clumsy scheme of Bai Hongtu’s to rile him up. He resolutely decided to not be provoked.

I am not angry.

Bai Hongtu warmly welcomed them and encouraged them to make themselves at home, similar to how they were at the Imperial Palace and the Tianyuan Emperor Dynasty.

Upon hearing this Jiang Li suspected it was a subtle hint for him to depart.

Jiang Li saw many scholars from the Ming Zhong World in the Dao Sect, engaging in technical exchanges with the Daoist Sect Elders, developing new products.

“We’ve made notable progress in the fusion of cultivation and technology. Take a look at this – an automatic takeaway ordering machine. It’s incredibly popular in the Ming Zhong World and essentially detects what the owner wants to eat and places an order with the restaurant.”

“What use does it have?”

“It’s actually quite handy. Some people want to diet, but also want to order takeaways. They’re too embarrassed to place an order, but the machine orders for them.”

“In this case, the owner can claim the machine ordered, not them. When the takeaway arrives, it would be a waste not to eat it. Since the machine can’t eat, the owner will have to ‘reluctantly’ step in.”

“Who developed this?”

“I developed it,” Bai Hongtu proudly answered.

“Shouldn’t you be focusing on more serious matters?”

“I am focusing on serious matters! Take a look at this training puppet I developed. It ranges from Qi Cultivation to Nascent Soul level and can battle with cultivators, thus allowing them to develop their skills through combat.”

“Sounds impressive, but why do all the puppets developed by your Dao Sect look so attractive?” Yu Yin was puzzled. Typically, the figures of puppets are bare, but these ones were remarkably well-shaped.

“We considered that during battles, when male cultivators face female ones and find them attractive, they hesitate at striking, causing the female cultivators to triumph despite their weakness. To eradicate this unnecessary mercy, we specifically learnt from the Luban Sect and changed the image of the puppets.”

“Hence, male cultivators who got used to the puppets would not hold back during combat.”

Jiang Li nodded, finding Bai Hongtu’s reasoning sound. He applied the same strength when fighting Bai Hongtu and Yu Yin.

“However, recently some male cultivators wanted to add daily utility functions to the puppets. I firmly refused, but it wasn’t very effective, as we continue receiving similar requests,” complained Bai Hongtu, expressing his vexation.

Bai Hongtu then demonstrated a string of their other developments – a series of products with conspicuously more cons than pros – before bringing Jiang Li and Yu Yin to where the Yin Yang Heaven Seal was located.

Since Jiang Li brought the Yin Yang Heaven Seal back from the Ming Zhong World, it had been residing in a stone chamber, focused solely on researching methods to enhance the power of Immortal Artifacts.

The power levels of Immortal Artifacts are neither explicitly classified nor ranked, but they still have relative strength levels. Otherwise, the Yin Yang Heaven Seal wouldn’t have become the leader among them.

In front of the Yin Yang Heaven Seal were stacks of reports. These were challenges encountered during the cultivation of Spiritual Treasures, collected by the Dao Sect from various places.

The Yin Yang Heaven Seal analyzed and organized these reports, improving methods of Spiritual Treasure cultivation and learning from the experiences contained in them.

Jiang Li and company were the last to arrive. The Tower of Brahma, the Great Confucian Word Post, the Heshan Stone, and the Four Seas Dragon Ball were already there.

“The Four Seas Dragon Ball is back too? Weren’t you exploring an alien world?”

“To answer the Human Emperor, we have just completed our exploration and were about to report our findings to the Imperial Palace when Big Brother Yin Yang Heaven Seal summoned us here.”

“What kind of world did you go to? What did you encounter?”

Jiang Li remembered the Four Seas Dragon Ball had taken some people from the Great Zhou and the dragon clan to an unknown world.

“The world we visited is named the Ten Thousand Words World, a Continent World. This world suffered a curse from an extraterrestrial Heavenly Demon. From birth, everyone knew one language, but the languages they understood were all different, and they could not learn the language of others. In other words, they couldn’t communicate.”

“We spent quite a while learning the languages of some of the people.”

“It would be impossible to learn all of them as there are tens of millions of people in that world, each speaking a different language.”

“Why are there so few people?” Jiang Li frowned. A planet would have billions of people, and the humans on a continent would only be more numerous.

“This is what I’m about to explain. The Ten Thousand Words World is extremely primitive, caught between the Stone Age and the Agrarian Age. They cannot be bothered with cultivation and technology. They’re primarily relying on luck to survive attacks from wild beasts.”

“At first, when the four of us arrived, we thought the world was just slow in development, but after being summoned back by the Human Emperor and learning about the extraterrestrial Heavenly Demon’s scheme, we reexamined the world and found the problem.”

“Originally, it was a scientific world but developed very slowly. They had just invented the steam engine, which liberated them from manual labor. However, the curse from the extraterrestrial Heavenly Demon cut off their linguistic connections, causing them to lose their original language and the ability to comprehend their books.”

“Books and the knowledge they contained were buried in the sands. Their technological level swiftly regressed back to the early Agrarian Age. This resulted in a rapid decrease in the population.”

“Based on the records in the ancient writings, a curse which affected an entire continent was released by an Earth Immortal-level extraterrestrial Heavenly Demon at the cost of its life.”

“The Ten Thousand Words World has scant water resources, and drinking water comes from rainfall. Human settlements are concentrated in areas with perennial rainfall. They view rainwater as a miracle and worship the heavens every time it rains. Meanwhile, the clouds are the curse released by the extraterrestrial Heavenly Demon.”

“Once they drink the rainwater, they’ll be cursed, and this curse can even affect the next generation.”

“The beasts in that world are extremely powerful, with humans only capable of defending themselves using rocks or crude ironware. They have a hard time just trying to survive.”

“After we figured this out, we eliminated the curse and had the dragon clan use their innate divine skills to summon rain, filling the riverbeds. The people from Great Zhou taught the language and established rules and order.”

“The task was laborious, so we contacted Zhou Emperor and the Four Seas Dragon King and asked them to send help.”

“After several years, we managed to teach the people of Ten Thousand Words World their original language.”

Initially, the Four Seas Dragon Ball wanted to directly teach them language from the Nine Provinces for easier future communication. However, the people from Great Zhou pointed out that this would be equivalent to erasing their historical identity. They should be taught their ancestors’ language.

“We left some people there who continue to instruct them on their previously understood technologies. It seems, due to the presence of ancestral memory in their bloodlines, they progressed rapidly. The Ten Thousand Words World is now back on track.”
