CURSE BOUND

A loud scream echos through the bounds of the mansion, followed by laughter

"There's a spider !" A maid screams, physically recoiling at the sight of a rare venomous spider

"Pitt, haha" Alexander laughs as he jumps from atop a chandelier where he was hiding followed by Marcus who is also giggling

"Oh young lord, I'm sorry for the commotion I caused" the maid says with an awkward smile

"Oh don't worry it was just a joke" Alexander snikers as he grabs the spider and crushes it, before throwing it out the window

"Tell my mother I'll be leaving " Alexander says as he walks off followed by Marcus, they reconvene with setsuna at the doorway of the mansion who didn't want to be involved in there antics

"We're going on a quest, are you coming ?" Alexander asks setsuna

"Sure, I mean there's no cleaning for me to do"

Setsuna says as she runs to grab Alexander's gear and sword alongside a spare for Marcus who is just visiting

"You should grab some gear too, this is going to be a B grade mission" Alexander says as he gears up "sure but, the only staff around here is your mothers" setsuna says fearfully

"Don't worry if it breaks we'll just buy another, plus my mother doesn't really adventure anymore" Alexander says reassuringly

"Ok" setsuna says as she gears up, the staff towering over her, with a large green gem in the head

Several hours later

"Damn this cave is big" Alexander says in a large cave in the middle of the woods "hey setsuna, where is the broodmother" Alexander says as he turns to face setsuna who is focusing on the flow of magic within the cave "it's about 100 feet ahead" setsuna says as she continues to focus "it seems to have found us as well" Marcus says as he points out the waves of spiders coming towards them

"Well I was getting bored either way" Alexander says as he unsheathes his sword and takes a deep breathe "don't lag behind you two" says Alexander before he shoots off and bisecting a group of spiders "classic" Marcus says as he does the same, the two of them easily clearing a large portion of the horde

"Stand back !" Setsuna screams as she readies her staff before chanting "gather mana, stockpile heat, rudimentary spell, FIRE BALL!" Which shoots of a giant ball of flame, which rushes toward burning the ants and illuminating the cave for a short period

"Wow the magical output of this staff is great !" Setsuna says as she glared at her spells aftermath "just keep, I'd hate to see it go to waste" Alexander says as he sheathes his sword "really !" Setsuna says in excitement As they continue through the ever expanding cave they encounter more and more insects of varying types, some no bigger the a the palm of a hand and some as massive as a well fed bull.

"Splat"

"EW !" Screams setsuna in disgust.

"Did u have to kill that so bravenly" says Setsuna.

"It was a given that was the most dangerous one we've encountered so far" says Marcus.

"I guess your right" says Setsuna still disgusted by the sight.

"Alright guys lets hurry next room is the broodmother's lair" says Alexander.

As they rush through the cave they can hear a terrible screaming sound accompanied by a putrid stench And the starving broodmother.

"RAHHH !!"

"Thats the broodmother get ready to fight" says Alexander.

They get into a formation, Setsuna stands at the back and Alexander and Marcus at the front.

Alexander leaps into the air and strikes at the beast.

The Broodmother swings one of legs in the way to hit Alexander but he weaves the attack and cleaves through the leg and apart of the back of the spider.

"RAHHHH !"

"Haha thats what you get vermin" says Alexander as he smiles in triumph.

"Hey I wanna have some fun too" says Marcus before dashing at high speed toward the giant spider and dismembering two of its legs, swiftly turning for a follow up attack but the broodmother swings a leg when his guard is down and strikes him, flinging him into the cave walls

"MARCUS !" Screams Setsuna

As She points her staff toward marcus's body, the gem glows a radiant gold.

"Specter of growth, progression of strength, HEAL !" shouts Setsuna.

Marcus rises with a groan and readies his sword.

"Marcus you good!!" Shouts Alexander who's clinging to the roof of the cave.

"Yeah just a little shaken is all" says Marcus.

"You better be dummy, and don't go overboard it's a simple healing spell" says Setsuna angrily.

"Okay guys lets focus, and Marcus don't let your guard down again" says Alexander.

"Yeah!" Says Marcus.

"Tactile waves, fluid rigidity … "

Setsuna says as she aims her staff at the Broodmother and charges up an attack, the gem glows a feint blue
