Dawn of Light - Reincarnated as a villain

Chapter 7: Hunt

The next morning, I woke up early and, as usual, donned my armor before heading downstairs for breakfast. After finishing my meal, I made my way to the Adventurer's Guild. The hustle and bustle of the guild greeted me again—nothing had changed. I barely took notice of the lively chatter around me.

Without wasting any time, I headed straight for the quest board. I scanned through the various E-rank quests, each offering a modest challenge. After a brief moment of deliberation, I selected the quest to exterminate Rank-1 beasts from the outer region.

Rank-1 beasts were typically at the power level of Rank-1 awakeners. Rank-1 awakeners are the people who awakened their affinity and to increase their rank people have to use the mana technique.

I approached the receptionist, a woman with brown hair and average looks, and handed her my quest slip. She inspected the request and placed it under my name without a word. I thanked her and left the guild, heading towards the city's outer gates. Once there, I showed my quest to the guards, who nodded and allowed me to pass into the forest.

The moment I entered the forest, I drew my ice dagger from inventory and began moving cautiously through the trees. After ten minutes of trekking, I spotted my first target. I saw the first beast, and from my game knowledge its name was frobit , frog body with rabbit head and horn protruding from the top of its head and it seemed unaware of my presence.

I quickly aimed my ice dagger and began forming an ice shard in front of the blade. The dagger's enchantment made the formation of the shard smooth and quick. Using wind mana to increase its speed, I launched the ice shard at the frobit.

Just as I shot the ice shrad, as if sensing it Frobit turned his head in my direction but it was already too late and the moment it struck, the creature's head exploded into a mess of gore.

A wave of euphoria surged through me, but I quickly suppressed it, focusing instead on retrieving the beast's body. I placed it into my inventory and continued forward.

Not long after, I encountered a group of goblins. There were three of them, and they had yet to notice me. I raised my ice dagger again, forming another shard, and swiftly launched it at one of the goblins. The ice shard pierced its skull, sending it crashing to the ground. The other two goblins, realizing what had just happened, shrieked in terror and charged at me.

I formed a fireball in my palm and shot it at one of the charging goblins. It collided with its head, throwing the creature backward. The other goblin swung a crude club at me, but I dodged just at time. As the goblin struggled to regain its balance, I took the opportunity to stab my dagger through its head, twisting it for good measure. Its twitched for a second and then its body went limp.

The last goblin, now terrified, stood frozen in place. I could see the fear in its eyes, and it filled me with an intense, almost insatiable euphoria.

--3rd pov--

As last goblin saw hiw his kin body went limp when he pierced its skull with the blade and then when goblin saw him looking at him , it terrified him and as if seeing him in fear , a big smile came on his face as if enjoying the goblin's despair and after coming in front of the goblin he mercilessly stabbed his head.

After collecting all the bodies, I moved deeper into the forest and continued my

hunting. By sunset, I had accumulated 15 goblins and 10 frobits bodies in my inventory, though I had taken a small bruise from one of the goblins' clubs.

Once back in town, I made my first stop at a magic shop. I purchased a medium low-grade storage ring for 100 gold coins.

After buying the storage ring I headed towards a dark alley and used my storage ring and portal materialized below my hand , then I opened my inventory and beasts started dropping in the portal of the ring. As for why I didn't buy simple ring and just opened the inventory to take out the beasts because system inventory doesn't form a portal like a storage ring that would raise questions while some will come for my head thinking I have used some rare artifact.

After putting every body in the ring, I went to the Adventurer's Guild to turn in my quest. The receptionist from earlier was still there.

"Did you come for a reward for exterminating the beasts" she asked, as that quest was repeatable most people get their reward according to beast they killed.

I nodded and responded, "Yes."

She led me to an empty table where i saw some blood of beasts on the table most probably it where most of the beasts are placed and after that I placed the bodies from the storage ring. As she counted the beasts, I could see the surprise in her eyes. She had probably expected a much smaller amount, given that this was my only second quest.

[A/n: as for how she knows that this Zephyx second quest because when she put the quest in his list , in morning there she saw that he has already taken his first quest and also that was herb gathering and memory of receptionists are quite strong that's why even they get te job]

Once the counting was done, she turned to me. "Five silver for each goblin and ten silver for each frobit," she explained. "That brings your total to 1 gold coin and 75 silver coins."

I accepted the pouch she handed me, thanked her, and left the guild.

Feeling satisfied with my progress, I headed back to the inn, but I wasn't quite done for the day. I made my way to the public hot spring, hoping to relax after the day's work. However, as I submerged myself in the warm water, the bruise on my arm stung, reminding me that I hadn't bought a health potion.

"Damn," I muttered to myself. "I forgot to buy a potion."

After my bath, I retreated to my room and collapsed into bed, exhausted from the day's hunting and training. As I drifted off to sleep.

[A/n: Why the fuck he is ending every chapter with sleep?]
