Chapter 47: Destroying The Mothership, Pummelling The Commander.
The battlefield of Metropolis had been quiet for a brief moment after Ethan cleared the skies and streets of Khurds forces. The remnants of destroyed scout ships littered the skyline, and the streets were scattered with alien bodies. But the lull was short-lived.
Onboard the Mothership
The Khurds commander stood in the central command deck, his fists clenched as he watched the video feeds of Earth's defenders obliterating his forces. Each monitor showed the Justice League members dismantling Khurds warriors and ships with precision and power. Superman's heat vision tore through a fleet, Wonder Woman's blade cut through their defenses, and Ethan Harper's blazing energy disintegrated entire waves of Khurds forces.
"Impossible!" the commander bellowed, slamming his hand on the control panel. "These primitive creatures shouldn't have warriors of this caliber!"
One of his technicians turned nervously. "Commander, our forces are down to 2500 ships. Our ground units are depleting rapidly."
The commander gritted his teeth. "Converge all remaining ships on Metropolis. Turn that city to dust. And prepare the mothership for descent. We'll obliterate their strongest defenders and take the planet by force!"
"Yes, Commander!" the technician replied, relaying the orders.
The ship's engines roared to life as the massive mothership began its descent toward Earth, its weapon systems charging, targeting Metropolis with an ominous red glow.
Batman sat in his batjet looking at the monitors, analyzing the sudden movement of Khurds ships. "They're converging on Metropolis," he said, his voice sharp.
The team was already linked via comms, and the tension in his voice caused everyone to focus. "They're regrouping for a massive assault. This isn't random—it's tactical. Their mothership is descending, likely to deploy their full arsenal."
"We can't let that happen," Wonder Woman said firmly.
Flash chimed in, "Sounds like it's time for the Justice League to save the day."
"Everyone," Batman said, his tone unyielding, "assemble in Metropolis. This is their final push, and we need to end this before the city becomes a wasteland. Use the teleporters or boom tubes. Move now!"

Ethan stood in the center of a devastated Metropolis street, scanning the horizon. His suit's sensors picked up a massive energy surge heading toward the city. He tightened his fists, his silvery-white aura glowing brighter as Helios fed him updates.
"Sir, approximately 2500 ships converging on Metropolis," Helios reported. "The mothership is descending and charging an energy beam directed at the city."
"Not on my watch," Ethan muttered, his eyes narrowing.
A series of glowing portals opened around him as the Justice League members teleported in one by one. Superman was the first to arrive, landing with a powerful gust of wind.
"Ethan," Superman said, stepping forward, "the mothership is descending. This is their last stand. Are you ready for this?"
Ethan nodded. "I've been waiting for a real fight."
Wonder Woman, Shazam, Flash, Aquaman, Blue Beetle, Cyborg, and Batman arrived in quick succession, each assessing the destruction around them.
"Looks like the gang's all here," Flash quipped, cracking his knuckles.
"This isn't a joke," Batman said curtly. "This is a coordinated assault. They're desperate, and desperate enemies are dangerous. Stay sharp."
Wonder Woman drew her sword. "Let's remind them why Earth isn't an easy target."
The first wave of Khurds ships roared into the city, their weapons lighting up the darkened sky. Superman and Ethan led the charge, soaring into the air to intercept the fleet.
Ethan raised his hands, summoning silvery flames that coiled like serpents around his arms. With a thunderous roar, he hurled them at the incoming ships, the intense heat incinerating several vessels at once.
Superman flew through another cluster, his fists smashing through the hulls of the ships, tearing them apart with ease. He fired his heat vision, slicing through a group that tried to flank him.
On the ground, Wonder Woman and Aquaman faced the Khurds warriors who deployed from the remaining ships. Aquaman twirled his trident, unleashing powerful tidal waves that swept the invaders off their feet.
"Come on!" Aquaman roared, impaling a warrior and throwing it into another group.
Wonder Woman moved with precision, her sword slicing through Khurds armor, her shield deflecting energy blasts. She somersaulted over a warrior, plunging her blade into its chest with a victorious cry.
Blue Beetle hovered above the battlefield, unleashing energy blasts from his scarab's weapon systems. "Jaime Reyes," he muttered to himself, "saving the world one alien at a time!"
Flash darted through the streets, his lightning-imbued punches disorienting the Khurds forces. "Try keeping up!" he taunted as he zipped past a group, knocking them into each other.
Cyborg provided aerial support, his arm cannon firing precision blasts at descending ships. "I'm not letting these guys take another step!"
Shazam called down lightning bolts from the sky, his booming voice echoing, "SHAZAM!" The thunderous energy tore through ships and warriors alike, leaving scorched craters in his wake.
As the mothership approached the city, Ethan flew higher to meet it head-on. "Helios, feed me everything on that ship's structure."
"Uploading data now, sir," Helios replied.
Superman joined him, hovering by his side. "You take the left. I'll take the right."
Ethan smirked. "Let's bring it down."
The two launched themselves at the massive vessel, targeting its weapon systems. Ethan unleashed concentrated beams of moonlight energy, while Superman tore through the hull with his immense strength.
On the ground, Batman coordinated the efforts, guiding the team through comms. "Focus on keeping the civilians safe and the ground forces contained. Let Superman and Ethan handle the mothership."
As the Justice League dismantled the remaining Khurds forces, the mothership began to falter under the combined assault of Superman and Ethan. Its weapon systems exploded one by one, and the massive vessel began to tilt.
The Khurds commander watched in disbelief from the command deck as the heroes tore through his forces. "Impossible," he muttered.
Ethan smashed into the bridge, confronting the commander directly. "Earth isn't yours to take."
With one final surge of energy, Ethan and Superman destroyed the mothership's core, causing it to implode. They flew out just in time, the massive explosion lighting up the night sky as the Justice League stood
The mothership erupted in a fiery blaze high above Metropolis, scattering debris across the atmosphere. Within the chaos, the Khurds commander activated an emergency escape mechanism embedded in his reinforced combat armor. In a flash of energy, he descended to the city streets below, landing amidst the devastation his forces had wrought.
Smoke and flames filled the air as the commander surveyed the battlefield. His rage simmered beneath the surface, his pride wounded by the overwhelming resistance.
"How could this primitive planet withstand us?" he muttered, his voice low and menacing. Turning to his subordinates via comms, he barked, "Prepare all remaining forces. This ends here."
Ethan Harper, his silvery-white suit faintly glowing, landed softly on a street corner. He scanned the area, his advanced sensors detecting the Khurds commander.
"Sir," Helios spoke in his ear, "the Khurds commander has entered the vicinity. His energy signature is far more powerful than the others."
"Noted," Ethan replied, narrowing his eyes. He turned to see the commander step out from behind the rubble of a toppled skyscraper.
"You," the commander said, his voice a deep growl. "You are the one who has brought shame to my forces. Earth should have fallen by now."
Ethan crossed his arms, his tone calm but firm. "Maybe you underestimated us. Or maybe you're just not as strong as you think."
The commander clenched his fists, the metal of his gauntlets creaking under the strain. "Do not mock me, Earthling. I am Zhal'Kor, conqueror of worlds, commander of the Khurds Empire's elite forces."
Ethan tilted his head, unimpressed. "Nice speech. Ready to back it up?"
Zhal'Kor roared and charged, his steps cracking the pavement beneath him. Ethan braced himself, his suit glowing brighter as he prepared for the clash.
The first blow came with a thunderous impact. Zhal'Kor punch, strong enough to shatter steel, collided with Ethan's raised arm. The shockwave rippled outward, shattering nearby windows.
Ethan countered with a precise uppercut, sending the commander flying back several feet. Zhal'Kor crashed into a wrecked vehicle, quickly recovering.
"You're strong," Ethan said, stepping forward. "But strength alone doesn't win battles."
Zhal'Kor growled, grabbing a chunk of debris and hurling it at Ethan. Ethan dodged effortlessly, responding with a controlled burst of silvery flame from his hands. The fire engulfed Zhal'Kor, forcing him to retreat momentarily.
"You fight well for someone from a backwater planet," Zhal'Kor admitted, his tone grudging.
Ethan smirked. "Flattery won't save you."
