Declaration Of Extra Strike

Chapter 91

Yeon Seung-yeon suddenly burst out of the booth, his face flushed with excitement, and shouted.

“Ho-hyun nim! It worked, it worked! The 7th reagent has successfully working even on F-rank Guides!”

I stopped what I was doing and looked at him. We had sent out a new Guiding Potion made using the Crystal of Seolpung, but it was still too strong. To make it more universal, another alternative was necessary. After some thought, I suggested diluting my potion. Potion dilution wasn’t as simple as just adding purified water to the concentrate.

To maintain the efficacy without any loss, the dilution process required dozens, even hundreds of trials and clinical tests. Naturally, I had no intention of getting caught up in that tedious and bothersome process. I had already provided the recipe, so it was the Center’s job to dilute it appropriately for Espers.

That’s what I said, intending to leave it at that, but the real problem lay elsewhere. When potion makers create an “Unknown Potion,” Guides need to inject their guiding power to complete the potion. However, since they were only accustomed to guiding Espers, Guides struggled to guide into inanimate objects.

While there were a few who succeeded occasionally, it wasn’t enough to meet the demand. In the end, the Center had asked for my assistance. Now, after two weeks, they had finally succeeded in diluting the potion.

“That was faster than I expected. With the way things were going, I thought it would take much longer.”

“They said they’d deposit the final payment, support funds, and reward today. Oh, and Team Leader Han Seo-hyun also proposed national-level support as well as personal sponsorship. It includes full sponsorship with security and everything.”

I scratched my head and glanced down at the documents I had been working on just moments before. I had been writing the final report to submit for the youth creators’ support program, which was nearing its end.

Support and sponsorship were appealing when money was tight, but having to report regularly was annoying. On top of that, I didn’t like the idea of being under someone else’s control. I waved my hand dismissively, as if it were a bother.

“No need. Reject it.”

“Yes. So, with the Center’s business done… what should we do about the recipe sales? I heard from my former colleagues that even though we haven’t officially announced the Guiding Potion yet, rumors have already spread. Apparently, the U.S., China, and Russia have already caught wind and are asking the Center about purchasing the recipe.”

It was something I had anticipated. The Guiding Potion was one of the most widely usable potions among those I had created. With the recipe up for grabs, everyone would be scrambling to get it. However, selling it without revealing myself wouldn’t be easy. After all, I’m a potion maker, not a merchant.

“Using a trading site doesn’t seem like the best idea, does it?”
