Chapter 42: Chapter 42 - Godslayer
"He must have reached there by now," King Aurum muttered.
"Sire?" One of the nobles nearby asked, wondering what he was talking about.
"Nothing, give the report," the court was busy discussing the trade routes and the new materials they would be trading in. The King was distracted. His eyes were on a scroll on his desk.
The noble continued, "Sire, we are constructing the trade route. We might have to share the profits with Caelum Dutchy. The nearest port from the Gate lies in the area of Caelum Dutchy."
"I know that's why I chose that world," Aurum took the report, seeing the route of the Caelum Dutchy. His thoughts were scattered, expecting a visit and sure enough, she was there, opening the doors to his Throne Room. The Nobles gave a cursory glance at the visitor, frightened by whom they saw. The woman had long black hair, dusky brown skin, seductive, sharp brown eyes, and wide lips. She had such a big smile on her lips, dimples forming on the corners.
"Your Majesty," she made an exaggerated bow, not bowing her head, looking up with that refreshing smile on her face. Her smile was universally accepted to be the most fresh smile around the Demon World.
The Nobles hurriedly backed off, some of them even daring to leave right away through teleportation. The woman gave others a look without dimming the smile, "I'll help you."
She waved her hand, and they all were sent directly back to their home. It made Aurum laugh, "Oh, I love how they are reminded of a Godslayers power when any other Godslayer appears other than me and Augustus."
"That's only because you won't hurt them as long as they are loyal. Or you CAN'T," she stressed, raising her expressing eyebrows, "Now it's Albion?"
"Believe me. I was going to name it Avalon. I got confused if it was Albion or Avalon."
She parted her lips, her big brown eyes going wide, "You," she laughed, "You didn't check before changing History of the World? I can't believe it.
Aurum ran his eyes over the woman with long legs and a slim waist, "You are looking beautiful, as always."
"You are looking handsome," she walked towards him. Her hips swaying with her every move. She was dressed in a simple dress.
He took her hand, planting a kiss on the back of it, "Lady Qayanat. What brings you here?"
"Oh," she teasingly smiled, "other than you changing the History? Let me see..."
"Let me guess," Aurum stood up, "must be my gorgeous face, spectacular body, and my charming smile. Am I right? I am, aren't I? I am," he nodded, "I am."
Qayanat laughed, "You are so full of it."
"It's a gift," Aurum shrugged, "and a curse. So, what's it?"
"You know," Qayanat sat on his throne. He was a tall man, and she wasn't short, 5'9, still much shorter than his 6'4 or 6'5. Her feet didn't touch the ground, "You got married."
"You didn't visit."
"Visiting on the day on my ex's marriage? I didn't want to pressure the poor girl. I can give you what she can't yet. What could be worse for her to know," Qayanat softly said, peering into his eyes.
"Tempting offer. I'll have to reject it though," Aurum pressed his lips into a smile, "I can't."
"Can't? Or don't want to?" Qayanat raised her eyebrows.
"Both. I can't, and I won't. She is my wife," Aurum's voice was gentle, happy, "If it's just as friends. I can give you benefit."
"Uh-huh," her grin widened, "You, give me benefits," she rolled her eyes at him, taking his hand to stand up. The two of them were inches away from each other, looking into the other's eyes. Her eyes darted between his lips and her eyes, "I am not here for that."
"Then for?"
"You changed Arthur's Fate. He was the last of your family who could stay by your side because His Fate protected him from your power," she stroked his cheek, "are you lonely?"
She gently rubbed her thumb against his cheek, "I am here for you."
"You don't make it easy," he leaned into the touch, closing his eyes.
"You want a friend. I will be your friend," she leaned in for the kiss, which touched his fingers, stopped by him.
"You know me better."
"I do," she circled her arms around his neck, "I am suffering here because the woman you chose to be your wife is so weak. Should I help her?"
"Don't. She's too weak."
"I heard. She saw Duke Caelum, poor girl," Qayanat sighed, "How is she alive? No, a better question is. Aurum, what did you do to keep her alive?"
"Why are you always so suspicious of me?" Aurum put his hand on her waist, "I didn't even know her then."
"If you say it again. I'll believe you," she stroked his head, bringing his head down until their foreheads touched.
"The moment I sense trouble. I'll ask you."
"Why her?"
"It's a very long story."
"Oh, I happen to be a Demon. We are known for immortality."
He grinned, "Dinner?"
"You'll cook?"
"I'll cook."

Ninja Continent, Early Morning,
Eve walked out of the house wearing a bathrobe, hearing the familiar voice of swords clashing against each other. She sat down on the stair with Aerith, both of them watching a three way spar between Cloud, Tifa and Arthur. It's a battle of techniques, "Tifa's getting better."
"Chakra suits her too," Aerith agreed, "she is a natural."
Tifa used chakra to cover her foot. Cloud blocked her kick with the side of his broadsword, which Tifa foot stuck on using chakra. Cloud's eyes widened, and before he could react, her fist came flying towards his face, her chakra covered fist, "Nice one."
He slashed the sword, keeping her fist from reaching him, tilting his head to dodge the air that her fist slammed towards him, carried by the force. He pulled the sword close, pulling her in the range to punch her.
Tifa leaped upwards, using her other foot to nearly kick Cloud in the chin. He loosened his grip on the sword, leaping back, but before the sword could hit the ground he leaped forward and grabbed it in mid-air, slashing towards Tifa who was coming down from the sky, caught in the middle of her jump. Cloud's eyes widened, and he stopped, seeing Arthur's sword in his path.
"It's two on one now," Cloud taunted.
"It would be too boring if you knock her out so early."
"He wouldn't have," the Tifa in the air blasted into smoke and a tree log fell in its place. Tifa appeared on Arthur's right, her punch nearly connecting to his cheek. He had to back away, along with Cloud, both taking distance from Tifa who abruptly appeared.
"What was that?" Arthur was so confused.
"Substitution," Tifa grinned, "it's a ninja technique. You can switch places with a nearby tree or a log. It's a basic ninja technique. It's the first time I used it in battle."
"So cool," Arthur grinned, "I want to learn that."
"First make chakra, and I'll teach you," Tifa regained her stance, looking towards Cloud, "come."
"Oh, wait, wait, wait," Arthur stopped them both, "Seeing you flirt reminded me something important."
"We weren't flirting," Cloud rolled his eyes, stopping for a second, "What is it?"
Arthur turned towards the stairs, "Mother! Father said his ex girlfriend might visit him," he breathed out, "Good thing I remembered," he turned back to face forward, raising his sword, "Alright. Let's go!"
Arthur blinked, seeing the stunned look on their faces, "What?"
"Even I am not dense," Cloud put down the sword, walking towards the house, sneaking a glance towards Eve, who looked blank.
"His Ex? He had an Ex?" Tifa ran over to Arthur, much like Aerith who ran with long steps, both of them taking his hand each, dragging him to the side.
"Yeah. Of course. He's the King," Arthur thought it was obvious.
"Don't yeah me! Spill it, who," Aerith's eyes sparkled.
"Lady Qayanat. She's the Demon Empress of Swadhaniya. One of the Six Godslayers."
"One of the Godslayers."
Arthur tensed up, hearing his mother's voice. Eve's voice sounded calm and composed, and it dawned on Arthur that he was in trouble. He looked towards Tifa and Aerith, both of whom had stepped away from him, pretending to not be involved. He scratched his head, turning around, "Mother...she's..."
"Lady Qayanat," Eve's eyes flashed to an unforgettable memory of when she was 4 or 5. A woman visited them on that day, everyone was scared, her big brother cautiously held her as they watched the woman from a distance. The woman noticed them and waved, and Eve remembered think, "her smile...is like the spring."
"Uh, you know her?"
"I saw her once," Eve breathed in, "Why did they break up?"
"Swadhaniya and Albion are very different countries. Rather, Swadhaniya is a very special country that is only able to exist because of Lady Qayanat. They are able to believe in Gods, pray to them, have their miracles, yet the Gods can't reach them. The Unreachable Country, it's called. He's the King, she's the Empress. None of them could abandon their country."
"Did they love each other?" Tifa asked, curious to hear about their past relationship.
"I don't know. They would always go to different world for dates. I only met her a few times, it was fleeting," Arthur shrugged.
Aerith covered his lips, "I think you should shut up now, and Tifa!"
"Sorry. I couldn't stop myself," Tifa hurriedly apologised, looking at Eve, "Eve?"
"I am fine," Eve muttered, "I'll go pick Saya. I have something I need to talk to Tsunade too."
"Mother," Arthur worriedly stepped towards her, "it's not a big deal!"
"I'll come with you," Cloud walked with her.
"No!" Eve raised her voice. She gasped, covering her lips, "Sorry...don't Cloud...and it is a big deal, Arthur. It's a big deal because I know why she went there..."
"Because you are not there," Aerith guessed.
"Because...now that Arthur is here. He must be lonely..." Eve tucked her hair behind her ear, taking a deep breath, "it's not fair..." she bit her lip, "I am sorry, give me a moment to myself?"
"Mother..." Arthur wanted to say something, but Aerith held his arm, shaking her head. She sighed, watching Eve walk away.
"Next time, don't spring something like this on her. Talk to us at least," Tifa sighed.
"Isn't it all the same. Why was that a big deal?" Arthur scratched his cheek.
"It's not. Cloud sleeping with Aerith is fine. Cloud loving Aerith like he loves me? Not fine. See the difference?" Tifa taught him.
"Mm, mm," Aerith nodded, completely agreeing with Tifa.
"Uh," Cloud changed the topic, "this sure is new. Another Godslayer. I wonder how strong are they?"
Arthur blinked a few times, remembering the frightening, marvelous scene of Haven shaking in his presence, the eye bigger than Haven itself, the finger holding it, "ehehe..." he sighed, which was against his code, "don't ask."
