Demon Slayer: Strength Gained with Every Swing of the Sword

Nightfall.

Tanjiro, exhausted, trudged slowly towards the wooden cabin.

Suddenly, he stopped.

"There's a familiar scent…"

"It seems like it's Feng Yu's… and another scent I don't recognize…"

A smile crept onto Tanjiro's face. The familiar scent of Feng Yu meant he was back, safe and sound.

For the past month, Tanjiro had not seen Feng Yu return and had inquired with Sakonji Urokodaki. Each time, the atmosphere had been heavy, and he had worried that something had happened to Feng Yu. Now, the scent brought him relief.

Tanjiro quickened his pace and soon arrived at the cabin, where Xiao Hei was still flapping around, playing with Nanako.

At that moment, both Xiao Hei and Nanako noticed Tanjiro.

"Xiao Hei, who is he?" Nanako asked.

"Caw, that's Nezuko's older brother, Tanjiro Kamado, the master's junior!" Xiao Hei responded.

"Wow, so he's my granduncle…" Nanako stared at Tanjiro with a sly smile.

"Granduncle Tanjiro, I'm Nanako, Feng Yu's apprentice!" she said with a grin.

"Ah? Feng Yu has taken on an apprentice?" Tanjiro was clearly taken aback, unsure of how to respond.

"Enough with the teasing, come on inside," Feng Yu's voice came from within.

Tanjiro nervously entered the cabin.

As soon as he stepped inside, Tanjiro saw Feng Yu's face illuminated by the firelight, looking as handsome as ever.

"Feng Yu, you're finally back…" Tanjiro smiled.

Feng Yu glanced at Tanjiro, smiled lightly, and gave a nod, signaling for Tanjiro to sit down.

Just as Tanjiro sat, Nezuko moved close, sticking to his side. She quietly pulled out a Marrow Cleansing Pill from her pocket and placed it into his hand.

Tanjiro saw the pill and immediately knew it was from Feng Yu. "Feng Yu, you don't need to give Nezuko so many pills…"

"It's fine. Just accept what's given," Feng Yu said with a smile.

Sakonji Urokodaki, standing nearby, remained silent, his red tengu mask still as terrifying as ever.

"It seems that during this month, Tanjiro, you haven't slacked off in your training. Your strength has improved greatly," Feng Yu said.

"Now that I'm back, let's fulfill our promise."

"I'll teach you to master Total Concentration Breathing: Constant!"

"And Nanako's training…"

Feng Yu's gaze shifted to Sakonji Urokodaki.

Sakonji nodded and said calmly, "Understood."

Tanjiro looked at Feng Yu with some trepidation, while Nanako, tilting her head, gazed curiously at Sakonji.

"Does this mean I'll be as strong as my master?" Nanako clenched her fists, imagining herself slicing demons with one clean blow.

"Nanako, you have to do your best. You have to come back alive!" Tanjiro called out to her as Feng Yu led him away.

"Alive…?" Nanako was puzzled, but she looked at Sakonji's red tengu mask, feeling a bit uneasy.

"Follow me," Sakonji said, leading Nanako up the mountain.

"The mountain path is rugged, be careful," Sakonji cautioned as he glanced back at Nanako.

"Understood, Master Sakonji!" Nanako's eyes shone with determination. It seemed to her that this mountain was the path to becoming strong.

But the journey ahead would not be easy…

Elsewhere

Feng Yu led Tanjiro to an open field.

"From now on, we'll train here. You have to blow up this gourd in front of you, all while constantly practicing Total Concentration Breathing, even when sleeping or resting…" Feng Yu instructed.

"Hahaha, Tanjiro Kamado, we won't go easy on you!" Xiao Hei said meaningfully.

"Xiao Hei, bring it on!" Tanjiro replied confidently.
