Destiny: Chosen For Battle

Chapter 4: Chapter 4

The deadly mythical beast stood right in front of me, ready to devour me. What do I do? I thought, panicking. Was it even Lex anymore?

Fire raged all around the dragon that Lex had transformed into. I gripped my blade awkwardly, my palms sweating as I tried to steady it. The rain began to pour, the droplets sizzling on the fire that surrounded him.

The dragon moved closer, and I froze, unsure of what to do. My mind went blank as I felt my very soul slip away. Suddenly, I felt something change within me—a strange, overwhelming sensation. My entire body began to transform, becoming clear, fluid... water.

My blue eyes turned white, and when I glanced down at myself, I saw I had become completely transparent. I felt disconnected from reality as the world faded into darkness.

"Stop!" a voice commanded, cutting through the haze.

I blinked back into awareness, the rain stopping as abruptly as it started. Young Master stood nearby, watching me intently. "Wonderful," he said, his voice filled with awe.

I looked at him in confusion as he stepped closer, his eyes fixed on me. "Your powers are beautiful, Destiny."

Master approached, taking my hand and examining it like it held the answer to some ancient mystery. "Who truly are you?" he muttered under his breath, more to himself than to me.

Without a word, Lex stomped away, leaving the training field. I couldn't recall what had just happened between us. All I remembered was the terrifying dragon, the storm, and my transformation.

"Meet me in my office," Young Master said before walking away.

As the other students stared at me, some with fear, others with curiosity, I felt a mix of emotions. Rachel winked at me, trying to lighten the mood, but I quickly left the training room, still dazed.

I reached Young Master's office after wandering the halls, lost in thought. Taking a deep breath, I knocked on the door.

"Yes, come in," he said.

I entered and stood behind the chair until he gestured for me to sit. He gave me a wide grin, making me feel even more uneasy.

"You see, Destiny, you've just discovered your power," he began.

I remained silent, listening intently.

"You possess extraordinary abilities—gifts from the divine beings and the goddess of our ancestors," he explained, his voice filled with reverence. "But... yours are different. Unique."

He hesitated for a moment before continuing, "I believe you might be the one destined to stop the Devil himself."

I stared at him, speechless. His words felt too heavy to process. A goddess? A water goddess?

He dismissed me, and I returned to my room, overwhelmed by his revelation. Rachel was waiting for me, her face lighting up as I entered.

"I haven't even figured out how to use my power yet, and you're already a pro," she teased. "So, what did the Master say?"

"Not much. Just that I should work on my skills," I lied, not ready to share what I'd just learned.

"Well, you were amazing out there! I mean, no one even expected you to turn into water like that. And Lex? He was insane—he turned into a dragon like he's been doing it his whole life!" she said animatedly.

Her excitement was infectious, and I chuckled despite my confusion.

"Let's go for a walk," she suggested, grabbing my arm.

We walked to the garden at the center of the building. The area buzzed with activity—students chatting, gossiping, and even sneaking kisses. It was oddly peaceful amidst all the chaos.

"Omg, he's adorable," Rachel whispered, breaking my thoughts.

"Who?" I asked, scanning the area.

"The guy with the blonde hair," she said, pointing.

I followed her gaze and smiled when I recognized him. "That's Kelvin. I know him."

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's say hi!" she exclaimed, dragging me toward him.

Kelvin looked surprised but grinned as he saw me. "Destiny! What are you doing here?"

"Same as you," I replied with a shrug.

"Who's your friend?" he asked, his eyes lingering on Rachel.

"This is Rachel," I introduced, watching as they exchanged shy smiles.

Kelvin glanced at his watch and muttered a curse.

"Something wrong?" I asked.

"I'm late to meet my father," he said, running a hand through his hair.

"Who's your father?" I asked curiously.

"Young Master," he answered with a wink before hurrying off.

Rachel's jaw dropped. "No way. The Master is his dad?! That explains why he's so hot," she said with a dreamy look.

As the day wound down, a red-haired girl approached us.

"I want to be your friend," she said boldly.

"Uh, sure," I replied, startled by her directness.

She introduced herself as June and invited us to join her table. We followed her to meet her friends—Frex, Gold, and Manny. They were friendly, and by the end of the night, Rachel and I had made new friends.

Back in our room, I lay on my bed, my thoughts drifting back to Lex. I hadn't seen him all day since the training ground incident.

A knock on the door pulled me from my thoughts.

I opened it to find Kelvin standing there, grinning.

"Hi, princess. Did you miss me?" he asked with a smirk
