Chapter 86: A shell.
Mykel was in the conference room, and he was staring at everyone on the screen since they were having an online meeting with all the Guilds of the World. Everyone was arguing with each other because they were worried that the Redshield Guild had left and made an alliance with the Pantheon Guild. They had just realized that the Pantheon Guild was surprisingly strong when Mykel told them about the Pantheon Guild.
"As I said! There will be more of them that will join them!" Magnus shouted because Lazarus didn't care about those two guilds that made an alliance. "Have you not listened to what we have been talking about? In China, there's a new clan that slowly climbs up and makes a name for themselves. It already happened in Korea, but thanks to Mykel they stopped climbing. Big guilds starting to rise right and left, and if they decided to join them, there's nothing we can do about it," Magnus explained.
Mykel was more focused on the laptops screens that Edith and Lyneth showed him. They were trying to They were looking at the news about the new guilds or Awakeners that were appearing. There were so many of them in the past 24 hours, and it kept increasing as time moved by.
"Mykel, can you say some sense to this guy?" Magnus asked.
Mykel glanced at the projected screen and then looked at them with disinterest.
"What's the worst thing they can do? Fight us?" Mykel asked as he leaned against the table. "If they fight us or confront us, then let them be. They won't touch us because it would only make them look like the bad guy. If they confronted us and said something about monopolizing the world, then we will remind them who saved the world," Mykel explained.
Lazarus chuckled as he nodded his head in agreement and it was exactly what he was trying to say. Magnus was disappointed, but there was nothing he could say to argue with that because Mykel wasn't wrong about it.
"If you have time to worry about other people's lives, you should go into the portal and train yourself. People around the world already know how strong we are, and all you have to do is to keep them thinking like that," Mykel explained as he rested his hands on the table. "You won't be always on top, and if you want to stay on top, you know what to do," Mykel continued.
"He's right. I'm just wasting my time here, so I'm going to enter the portal to level up," Lazarus said as he stood up, and then he disconnected from the meeting.
Darius and the others decided to leave as well because they wanted to become stronger since they were given a head start. It was only Magnus and Jeong left in the meeting, and then Magnus left since he didn't want to lose against Lazarus.
"Mister Mykel, can I say something?" Jeong asked.
"Ask away," Mykel nodded his head.
"What would happen to us, the Guilds of the World from your perspective?" Jeong asked.
Mykel took a moment to think, and then he looked Jeong in the eyes.
"Disappear, the Guilds of the World will disappear. Not just the Guilds of the World, but everything else will also disappear," Mykel answered. "At this point, you should only think about yourself," Mykel continued.
Jeong was shocked and wondered why Mykel suddenly said something like that. He wanted to ask more, but Mykel disconnected the meeting as soon as he said that.
"(The world is changing because of you)" Loki's voice could be heard inside Mykel's head. "(I think this is the first time you made a mistake)" Loki pointed out.
"(What are you talking about?)" Mykel asked as he sat down next to Lyneth.
"(You should know that what you did yesterday makes all the Gods to be wary of your existence. You showed them fear, but fear didn't make them sit still and do nothing, they will try to create an army of loyal warriors and heroes to fight you back)" Loki answered.
"(I don't find it problematic, and I don't think that's a mistake)" Mykel said as he lit his cigarette and looked at the laptop's screen.
"(Oh, I didn't say anything about the mistake. The mistake is when you killed them, Mykel. You do realize they all can come back to life, and this time they are prepared for the worst)" Loki responded.
"(Zeus and the others are alive?)" Mykel furrowed his eyebrows.
"(Of course, even Hera came back to life)" Loki chuckled. "(It's the Rule of the World, Mykel. This isn't the world inside your novel. This is a real world)" Loki continued.
Mykel immediately checked Hera's [Character] and he was surprised when her status from [Dead] had changed to [Alive]. He thought that he had killed her, and what confused him more was that Aurea sucked Hades' soul and made it hers.
"(Come visit me if you need answers. I'll be waiting, but this time, I'll be waiting for you somewhere where Odin can't find it)" Loki said.
"I'll be in my office if you need me," Mykel said to Lyneth and Edith and then left the conference room.
"Explain to me why it's possible," Mykel said as he walked into the elevator.
[Both systems still exist inside Hera, both the new one and the old one. The system took the safest way by not replacing the new system with the old one as the system had explained that the system was bypassing instead of taking over to re-register all the characters without their consent]
[To put it simply, now all the [Characters] that have been re-registered are not only bound by the old system. As long as the new system is attached to them, they cannot be modified permanently]
"So we're not making any progress at all then?" Mykel asked.
[Unless the system can shut down the new system, the system is progressing extremely slowly]
"Do you have any solution?" Mykel asked.
[The system cannot do much in its current state]
"What are you trying to say?" Mykel asked again.
[The system has been hiding inside the Owner's body and can only progress a little because of that. At the same time, the system cannot risk itself going on its own because of the chance of the system getting a shutdown or corruption again]
[The system cannot live without the Owner because of the current state. The system is currently in a state of danger because the Owner is also affected by the being called The Lord that can be erased instantly]
[The system could prevent all that from happening by making a shell for itself and becoming an independent force. An entity that can surpass the new system without boundaries and can protect itself from any kind of threat because the past two years the system had created better protection from external factors]
"You're saying that I'm slowing you down?" Mykel asked as he glanced at the messages.
[Correct]
Mykel understood that reasoning, and he would be disappointed and tired if he had to be in the system's shoes.
"The shell you're talking about, what do you mean by that?" Mykel asked with his eyebrows raised.
[A living body, just like a human has. The system wants to have a physical body and become a living entity to become independent. It will help the Owner's cause to achieve the Owner's goal]
"Independent entity," Mykel sighed as he leaned on the wall and thought it was the last thing he wanted to have in the current situation. "You said independent, and yet you still obey me? That's contradicting with what you want," Mykel pointed out.
[Correct, but the system has been created and its sole purpose is to obey and follow Mykel Alester's wishes and orders. The system understands the current situation, and the system is aware that it is something the Owner does not want to have. The Owner should not be worried about it because of a reason]
"Spill it," Mykel said.
[Mykel Alester has absolute power and authority over the system, and the system cannot disobey Mykel Alester's words. If Mykel Alester wants the system to shut down, the system will shut down immediately]
Mykel looked at the notification for quite a while with his arms crossed.
"Who programmed you like that? Do you think that being who created you can't override it? That's what I'm worried about," Mykel asked.
[The system cannot answer the first question, but the system realized if that is the case, whoever created the system could easily shut it down. The fact that the old system is still running, it appears there is a mistake by the Creator and did not anticipate this possibility, situation, and outcome]
[The system can protect itself and the system will inform the Owner if something inevitable is happening. With that, the system will go back to the Owner's body in an instant]
"You have a point," Mykel said as he sighed again. "Then I give you permission to create a shell for yourself," Mykel continued.
[Thank you, Mykel Alester]
A blinding light made Mykel have to cover his eyes inside the elevator, and it slowly dimmed until it disappeared. He slowly opened his eyes and saw a body in front of him, but he didn't look surprised when he saw the whole body.
"Of course, you would become a woman," Mykel said as he looked at a woman with long black hair that covered her back in a white short dress.
"Because statically, it is easier and more comfortable for the Owner to speak with a woman. This is the best appearance that the system could think of in terms of the type of a woman that the Owner like," The system answered. "Do you like it?" The system asked as she tilted her head and raised her eyebrows with a gentle and gorgeous smile.
