Chapter 178: Chapter 177: Zhu Lu the Beautiful
Truly incredible!
Zhu Lu's figure was absolutely amazing—no wonder she hailed from the Zhu family! Even after thousands of years, Qian Ran thought, the martial power of the Zhu clan might be uncertain, but their figure genetics remained unparalleled.
To be honest, the only reason Zhu Lu hadn't caused as much of a stir as Zhu Zhuqing from Douluo Dalu I was probably the school uniform. In Douluo I, Shrek didn't have uniforms in Soto City, and Zhu Zhuqing wore skintight leather that accentuated her remarkable figure.
Unfortunately for Zhu Lu, Shrek Academy's standard-issue uniform concealed her figure's true potential.
"Is it really that good to look at?" Zhu Lu asked, squirming under Qian Ran's gaze, feeling a bit shy. Her form-fitting outfit clung smoothly to her chest, hips, and thighs, emphasizing every curve.
"I'm curious—how did you even put this on? And what happens when you need to, you know… use the restroom?"
"That's none of your business!" Zhu Lu pouted, too embarrassed to explain such personal details.
"It feels amazing to stroll around with a beauty like you," Qian Ran teased, taking her out to the bustling streets.
Unsurprisingly, Zhu Lu's striking beauty quickly made her the center of attention. There were plenty of pretty women, but a beauty with such an exquisite figure was a rare sight. Though Zhu Lu's face still had a youthful sweetness, her body was already at a perfect level of maturity.
Even women significantly older than her couldn't match her physique. It was just one of those things—some people are blessed by nature, and Zhu Lu had maxed out her stats in that department.
Naturally, Qian Ran drew envious glances as the man by her side.
Qian Ran quickly noticed both the appeal and drawback of Zhu Lu's skintight outfit: while it showcased her form beautifully, it also made it hard to get a good hold because everything was so snugly in place.
There were trade-offs, but overall, Qian Ran had to admit that he loved it.
It felt incredibly smooth to the touch.
Her legs in particular, wrapped in sleek leather pants, were even smoother than black stockings, and the warmth of her body radiated through the material.
"Stop moving around! People will see!" Zhu Lu whispered, blushing as she felt his hand sneakily wandering. She quickly grabbed his hand to stop him.
"Who cares? Think anyone would actually mess with us?"
"Hmph. Either way, I won't let you act this unprofessionally."
Zhu Lu's cheeks flushed bright red.
"So, which do you prefer, then—the serious me or the cheeky me?" Qian Ran teased.
"Serious, of course," Zhu Lu replied, though a bit dishonestly. Sure, Dai Huabin had always been proper with her, never crossing any lines, yet she hadn't felt any attraction to him.
Qian Ran, on the other hand, was the opposite of "serious" most of the time, but he made her feel close, and she found herself loving his mischievous side at home. In public, his daring behavior made her heart race in excitement.
"Has Dai Huabin been bothering you lately?" Qian Ran asked as he wrapped his arm around her. Despite enjoying their time together, he kept his hands to himself in public, knowing they were in the spotlight.
Zhu Lu shook her head.
"I've barely seen him recently. Even when he does see me, he doesn't come over to talk."
Zhu Lu knew Dai Huabin's personality all too well—his calm exterior often masked his true intentions, which could be dangerous.
To be honest, she felt a bit guilty about the whole situation. Though Dai Huabin could be harsh to others, he had always treated her well. Yet she had chosen to leave him.
"That guy's definitely scheming something. Be careful, okay? Stick with Dong'er and the others whenever you go out. Don't go anywhere alone, understand?" Qian Ran said, playfully pinching her cheek.
Even though he wielded considerable influence at Shrek Academy, he couldn't yet cover every angle. He certainly couldn't outright kill Dai Huabin.
If Zhu Lu wandered alone, Dai Huabin would surely try something unsavory. Qian Ran wasn't about to give him the chance.
Dai Huabin was known for his ruthless tactics—Huo Yuhao's mother, in the original story, had died of injuries inflicted by him. Had Dai Huabin been older, who knows what further damage he might have done to Huo Yuhao's family.
In the original story, he even tried to have Huo Yuhao assassinated.
Now, with his deep-seated hatred toward Qian Ran, there was no telling what he might attempt. The same went for Zhu Lu.
Fortunately, as long as they stayed within Shrek City, they were safe. Nobody would dare to attack them there.
As for himself, Qian Ran wasn't too worried—Dai Huabin's tricks didn't concern him. It was his treasured girls he was worried about. If anything happened to them, it would be devastating.
"Got it. I'm not that foolish," Zhu Lu replied, knowing Dai Huabin's nature well and remaining vigilant. Seeing Qian Ran so concerned for her made her heart swell with warmth.
"Qian Ran."
"Hmm?"
"Do you like me… or do you just like my body?"
Zhu Lu glanced down at her chest, uncertain if the gifts she'd been born with were a blessing or a curse.
"Both."
"If I said I didn't like your body, I'd be lying. No man wouldn't be attracted to his woman's body. If he isn't, that's not love. But I promise you, my feelings go much deeper than that," Qian Ran said earnestly.
Love without desire was simply affection. True love meant sharing ultimate joy together, making it hard for two people to part.
In the beginning, he had certainly been drawn to Zhu Lu's appearance, but by now, he'd grown genuinely fond of her.
"Oh." Zhu Lu smiled, swallowing back a laugh. Even if Qian Ran was initially attracted to her looks and body, she was confident she could make him love her for who she was.
Meanwhile, on Shrek Academy's field, Huo Yuhao felt a rush of familiarity as he gazed at the surroundings.
Despite his unpleasant morning, he still felt hopeful about the future. After all, his current strength exceeded what it had been at this point in his memories.
He had even asked around and confirmed that there was a Wang Dong, but no Wang Dong'er.
What did that mean? It meant Dong'er was still in disguise.
Qian Ran might not know Wang Dong was actually a stunning beauty. Even if they shared a dorm, it didn't matter—as long as Qian Ran didn't cross any lines.
"That cursed Qian Ran. Everything that's yours will soon be mine again," Huo Yuhao muttered. Through his inquiries, he'd learned that Qian Ran was currently the talk of the outer court. Even Xiao Xiao, who was supposed to be with He Caitou, had been scooped up by Qian Ran. Xiao Xiao was so petite!
Even Tang Ya had been drawn in by Qian Ran, leaving him puzzled about how Bei Bei could tolerate it. Jiang Nannan too; Xu Sanshi had apparently left the academy for some mysterious reason—no doubt another of Qian Ran's "accomplishments."
Huo Yuhao couldn't fathom it: not only had Qian Ran taken the opportunities meant for him, but he'd stolen the women of He Caitou, Bei Bei, and Xu Sanshi as well. How could anyone be so greedy?
Not only did he want the power, but he couldn't leave the beautiful seniors and classmates alone.
Thankfully, Dong'er was still disguised as a man. If she weren't, who knew if Qian Ran would have already targeted her.
As things stood, even if she shared a dorm with Qian Ran, the most dangerous place was often the safest.
