Chapter 4: Chapter 4: The Eclipse Prophecy
The coliseum had fallen silent following the match between Xu Tian and Yue Lian. Although the fight had ended in a draw, no one could deny that both prodigies were on a completely different level than the rest. However, as the spectators were excitedly commenting, a hooded old man made his way to the center of the arena.
The crowd fell completely silent upon seeing him. This was no ordinary spiritual master; his aura was overwhelming, almost suffocating. Even the elders of the great sects exchanged worried glances.
"Disciples of the Sun and Moon," the old man proclaimed, his voice booming like thunder. "The fate of this world is tied to your meeting. The prophecy of the Eclipse has begun."
Xu Tian, still breathing heavily after the fight, frowned. "Who are you? And what is this 'prophecy' you speak of?"
The old man looked at him, his eyes shining with a strange glow. "I am a Keeper of the Ancient Records. My duty is to protect the secrets that have shaped this world. And you two… are the key pieces in an event that will decide the future of the Douluo Continent."
"What do you mean?" Yue Lian asked calmly, though a shadow of worry flashed across her eyes.
"The Sun and the Moon," the old man explained, "are opposing, yet complementary martial spirits. According to prophecy, their union can bring balance and renewal… or chaos and destruction. The Eclipse is the point at which their forces will converge, and how they wield this power will determine the fate of us all."
Xu Tian snorted, his arrogance intact. "Join forces with her? Never. I don't need anyone's help, much less someone who lives in the shadows."
Yue Lian, in contrast, remained silent, but her gaze fixed on the old man indicated that she was processing every word.
The Guardian raised a hand, and an ancient map appeared, floating in the air. It was marked with faintly glowing symbols, indicating a remote location deep within the continent. "This is the path to the Land of Eclipse, a place where the secrets of the Sun and Moon will be revealed. But be warned: the journey will be dangerous. Only those who truly understand balance will be able to reach it."
Before anyone could respond, the old man disappeared in a flash of light, leaving the map floating in the air. Xu Tian and Yue Lian took it at the same time, their hands briefly brushing against each other. The contact was brief, but they both felt a strange connection, a mix of attraction and repulsion that they couldn't explain.
"This changes nothing," Xu Tian declared, pushing Yue Lian's hand away. "I will go to that place, uncover its secrets, and prove that the Sun always outweighs the Moon."
"Do as you wish," Yue Lian replied coldly. "But don't interrupt my path."
The tension between the two was palpable, but neither was willing to back down. The master of the Eternal Sun Sect and the master of the Immaculate Moon Sect looked at their disciples with concern. Although they were both prodigies, their rivalry could become a bigger problem if the prophecy was true.
That night, while everyone was resting, Xu Tian looked at the map under the light of his martial spirit. The old man's words echoed in his mind, but he did not believe in prophecies. All he knew was that this trip would be a chance to strengthen his spirit and prove that he was the strongest.
Elsewhere, Yue Lian was staring at the moon, lost in thought. If the Eclipse was real, it meant that her fate was tied to Xu Tian's, something she could not easily accept. But deep down, she felt that this trip was inevitable, a path she had to take, not only for the sake of her sect, but also for her own growth.
