Chapter 184: Chapter 184: The Tradition of the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Clan

"Mu Chen!"

Unlike Shui Bing'er, Ning Rongrong did not pull away from Mu Chen's embrace. Instead, she gazed at him with warmth in her eyes.

"Take a rest for now. Leave the rest to me," Mu Chen said calmly.

"Alright." Ning Rongrong nodded obediently, never questioning Mu Chen's orders.

Mu Chen glanced around the battlefield and called out, "Everyone, fall back."

Meng Yiran, Dugu Yan, Xue Ke, Zhu Zhuqing, Xiao Wu, Jiang Zhu, Dai Mubai, and the others all retreated as commanded, leaving the Spirit Hall soul masters puzzled and uncertain about their opponent's strategy.

"Those poor souls," Ma Hongjun chuckled.

"Right? Once Boss Mu steps in, they're either dead or severely injured," Oscar smirked.

"No matter what they're planning, our mission must be completed. Everyone, attack!" ordered one of the Spirit Hall soul masters, and they surged toward Mu Chen's group.

Mu Chen's forehead lit up with a pink symbol.

"A spirit bone?"

The Spirit Hall soul masters froze in shock.

Head Spirit Bone: Eye of Slaughter

A strange wave of energy radiated outward, and the soul masters who met Mu Chen's gaze became dazed, frozen in place as their consciousness was transported to a strange realm.

There, the sky was red.

The clouds were red.

Blood flowed like rivers across the land.

The ground was littered with countless corpses as far as the eye could see, creating an endless battlefield filled with the suffocating aura of death and slaughter.

"Hello? Is anyone here?"

"Where am I? What is this place?"

Each soul master found themselves isolated in the eerie landscape, surrounded by silence and death.

"Aaaah!"

They screamed as the energy of slaughter seeped into their spiritual bodies. Some, unable to withstand it, were torn apart into countless pieces.

Whoosh

Suddenly, the ground turned soft, transforming into a sea of blood. The corpses floating within the sea began to stir, their half-mutilated bodies moving toward the soul masters with decayed hands and broken limbs.

"What… what kind of spirit bone is this?" one of the Spirit Hall soul masters managed to stammer, shaken and filled with dread as he broke free of the illusion.

Several of the stronger soul masters resisted the effects of the Eye of Slaughter, but they knew that if Mu Chen had attacked while they were in the illusion, they would have been helpless. In a battle, life and death often hung on mere seconds.

"They… they're dead?"

"Bleeding from all seven orifices?"

Poison Douluo and the Dragon Serpent couple looked on, stunned. Out of the hundreds of Spirit Hall members who had attacked, only a few remained standing, while many had silently perished, their faces twisted in terror as blood streamed from their eyes, ears, and mouths.

"It seems I'll have to step in," a voice said from above, and a dark figure descended from the sky, landing gracefully on the ground.

The newcomer wore black armor and emitted a dark aura that gave him a ghostly, otherworldly appearance.

"Ghost Douluo! Gui Mei!" Poison Douluo's eyes narrowed, scanning the area. Knowing that Ghost Douluo could merge his martial soul with Chrysanthemum Douluo, he suspected Chrysanthemum Douluo was nearby as well.

"It appears I'll need to intervene as well," said another voice, and a pillar of light enveloped Mu Chen.

Everyone looked over to see Ning Fengzhi, leader of the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Clan, approaching.

Thud

Another figure landed beside Mu Chen—a man with striking white hair and a sharp gaze that exuded a powerful aura.

"Sword Douluo, Chen Xin!" Ghost Douluo's expression grew tense.

"My future grandson-in-law, leave him to me!" Chen Xin said casually.

"Future grandson-in-law? Are you talking to me?" Mu Chen raised an eyebrow.

"Who else would it be? Other than you, who else is qualified to be my grandson-in-law?" Chen Xin replied, unfazed.

"Um… Senior, you might be mistaken," Mu Chen said, smiling awkwardly.

"Mistaken? How could I be? Rongrong calls me Sword Grandpa, and since you're her future husband, calling you my grandson-in-law is only natural," Chen Xin said confidently.

"Senior… there might be a misunderstanding here," Mu Chen said with a wry smile.

"Mu Chen, I may not be able to beat you, but there are some things I know," Chen Xin replied. "You've seen Rongrong's back, haven't you?"

Mu Chen nodded. To help Ning Rongrong improve her physical endurance, she had once bared her back, dressed only in minimal clothing, so he could use a whip to strengthen her physique. Zhao Wuji, Flender, Liu Erlong, and others were all aware of this.

"The Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Clan has a tradition," Chen Xin said solemnly. "If a man sees a woman's back, that man is destined to be her future husband."

"What?"

"What?!"

Both Mu Chen and Ning Rongrong were stunned.

"Sword Grandpa, since when did our clan have this tradition? How come I didn't know about it?" Ning Rongrong asked, baffled.

"It didn't exist before, but it does now. Isn't that right, Fengzhi?" Chen Xin turned to Ning Fengzhi.

Momentarily surprised by Chen Xin's words, Ning Fengzhi quickly nodded after noticing the expectant gazes.

"Uh…"

Mu Chen could only sigh inwardly. It was clear that Chen Xin and Ning Fengzhi were set on binding him to the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Clan, even fabricating a tradition to solidify the alliance.
