Chapter 204: Chapter 204: The Tang Sect Established
Empire Soul Village—a small, remote village within Balak Kingdom, situated near the border of Heaven Dou Empire and Star Luo Empire. Surrounded by lush, ancient trees that require the embrace of five men to circle, the village thrives within a well-preserved forest, making it a haven for wildlife. Unlike the vegetable-rich Holy Soul Village in Notting City, Empire Soul Village's residents have long relied on hunting for their livelihood.
Several months ago, the once-quiet village was transformed as three thousand craftsmen, ten thousand soldiers, and thirty thousand laborers arrived. With their efforts, a series of ancient structures now stood along a mountain perpetually wrapped in mist. Built into the landscape without disturbing its natural beauty, the architecture rose like bamboo shoots after a spring rain.
Inside the largest building, a dozen people gathered around a central figure, listening intently.
"To master multi-tasking, you must develop situational awareness—seeing and hearing everything around you while focusing on multiple tasks. Multi-tasking is more about sensing than control. Once you grasp this, you'll blend spiritual power with soul power to create a split self."
"Boss Mu, I have a beast spirit. How am I supposed to sense everything around me?" asked Ma Hongjun.
"Good question. Since your spirit is the Evil Fire Phoenix, a top-tier beast spirit, try sensing the movement of fire elements around you," Mu Chen replied.
"Sense the movement of fire elements?" Ma Hongjun asked, intrigued.
"Yes, and the rest of you can apply this concept with your elements too."
"Boss Mu," Dai Mubai remarked, shaking his head in amazement, "sometimes I really want to crack open your head and see how it works. How can someone be this smart? Next to you, we're hardly qualified to call ourselves 'monsters'."
The rest, including Tang San, Oscar, Ning Rongrong, Zhu Zhuqing, Xiao Wu, and Meng Yiran, nodded in agreement. Tang San, despite his own talents, had to admit he felt like an understudy beside Mu Chen.
When Mu Chen revealed his ability to multitask to an extreme degree and use it to create a shadow avatar—one with 50% of his original combat power, or 90% with an advanced technique he dubbed the "True Shadow"—the rest could hardly contain their admiration. Even Tang San, ever-curious and driven, was eager to learn.
"Mu Chen!"
The voice of Liu Erlong interrupted the session as she entered the hall, striding toward him. "Mu Chen, the founding ceremony is about to begin. Are you ready?"
"Can't I skip it?" Mu Chen said casually, clearly not one for formal occasions.
"Absolutely not," she replied firmly.
"Erlong, maybe you could stand in for me?" he asked with a grin.
"Mu Chen, do you expect me to handle everything, even giving birth to children by myself?" Liu Erlong shot back.
"Having children is a woman's job, isn't it? I can't help you there," Mu Chen chuckled.
"Do you think I can manage it alone?" she replied, giving him an exasperated look.
"Boss Mu, Erlong-sensei can't do it alone!" Ma Hongjun piped in mischievously.
"Boss Mu, I'm afraid I can't side with you on this one," Dai Mubai added, a wicked grin spreading across his face. "Childbearing takes two, after all."
"Boss Mu," Oscar joined in, chuckling as he draped an arm around Ma Hongjun's shoulder, "if Erlong-sensei could have a child on her own, you'd better check if you're wearing a certain colored hat!"
At that, Liu Erlong's expression darkened, nearly reaching her boiling point. "Do you three think that just because you won the All-Continent Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Competition, you're untouchable?"
All three flinched, and with no hesitation, summoned their soul power and darted from the hall, laughing nervously as they went. Yet, Ma Hongjun's parting words still echoed through the chamber.
"Boss Mu, with how mad Erlong-sensei is, maybe you're still... a rookie?"
Mu Chen looked over at Liu Erlong, who seemed taken aback, meeting his gaze with a look that held a mix of frustration and longing. Her expression suggested she wanted nothing more than to corner him, her eyes smoldering with unspoken desire.
Liu Erlong had spent her life waiting, and her strength, background, and beauty were undeniable. At over forty, her allure only deepened with maturity. Yet despite their well-known relationship, there remained an unbroken barrier between them—one that kept her from fully claiming her role by his side.
Of course, Liu Erlong understood. Mu Chen had promised Xiao Wu that their first time would be with her, a condition Xiao Wu held dear despite her willingness to share Mu Chen's affection.
Mu Chen finally broke the silence, turning to her with a gentle but resolved expression.
