Douluo Starting with the Chaos Divine Examination

Chapter 215: Chapter 215: Hu Liena’s Heart

---

Roars echoed from every direction. The ground quaked as if an earthquake had struck, signaling the anger of countless soul beasts in the oasis. While some fled in fear after the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon's defeat, the majority surged toward the site, their cries deafening.

---

"Kill me," a magnetic and pride-filled voice suddenly rang in Mu Chen's ears. "A dragon would rather die standing than live kneeling."

"You can talk?" Mu Chen was taken aback.

The Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon remained silent, her piercing gaze locked on him.

"If you could speak, why didn't you say anything earlier?" he asked.

"Why would I waste words on a human?" she replied coldly, her tone dripping with disdain.

---

"Brother!" Xiao Wu stepped forward, clutching Mu Chen's sleeve. "She's a hybrid divine beast. The other soul beasts are duty-bound to protect her. Can we spare her? She's pitiful too."

"Alright, since you asked, I'll spare her," Mu Chen said casually.

"Thank you, Brother!" Xiao Wu beamed with gratitude.

"Don't celebrate too soon," he added, his tone turning dark. "I said I won't kill her, but I have plenty of ways to make her wish she were dead."

Xiao Wu froze, her expression shifting from relief to shock. She glanced at Mu Chen, his calm demeanor making it clear he wasn't joking.

---

The dragon, too, flinched at his words. She struggled to her feet, her massive blue eyes glaring at Mu Chen with a mixture of fury and defiance. Even if she were to die, she would do so with dignity. She was ready to self-destruct if necessary to avoid any humiliation.

"Mu Chen!" Liu Erlong's voice cut through the tension. "She is my ancestor!"

"Silence!" The dragon roared, cutting Liu Erlong off. "You are unworthy of calling me your ancestor. My brother's lineage has fallen so far, bringing outsiders to this sacred place."

"Ancestor, we mean no harm—" Liu Erlong began.

"I said silence!" The dragon's voice thundered again.

---

Mu Chen stepped forward, his Chaos Sword glowing faintly in his hand. The Chaos Eight Wings spread behind him, their divine aura shimmering. His forehead glowed with a strange symbol, emitting a faint gray light.

"This… this is the aura of a god?" The Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon froze, her anger momentarily replaced with shock.

"You recognize it?" Mu Chen asked.

The dragon nodded slowly. "My father once took me to the Star Dou Forest, where I sensed a similar aura from the Beast God."

---

"I'm not a god," Mu Chen clarified.

"Then why do you carry their aura?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.

"Because I am undergoing a divine trial," he said. "If I pass, I will ascend to godhood. Now, tell me, does serving a future god still feel beneath your dignity?"

The dragon fell silent, her massive blue eyes studying him intently. After a moment of reflection, she lowered her head in submission.

"I, Yu Sinuo, am willing to become your mount," she declared solemnly. "Master, please extend your hand. I need a drop of your blood on my forehead to seal the bond."

---

Mu Chen bit his fingertip, letting a drop of blood fall onto her scaled forehead. As the blood seeped into her skin, he felt a mysterious connection form between them.

"You've been injured before," Mu Chen observed.

Yu Sinuo nodded. "In my youth, I fought the Deep Sea Demon Whale King. That battle left me with hidden injuries. Without your intervention, I might not survive my next life limit. I was already considering taking human form to extend my existence."

She looked at Mu Chen with hope in her eyes. "Master, only someone like you can help me retain my true form."

Mu Chen chuckled lightly. "We'll deal with that later. First, we have a mission—subduing the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. Let's go."

---

Mu Chen climbed onto Yu Sinuo's back, lifting Xiao Wu effortlessly. When it was Liu Erlong's turn, she hesitated.

"This feels wrong… She's my ancestor," Liu Erlong said uncertainly.

"Her brother, your distant ancestor, has been dead for centuries," Mu Chen retorted. "Get on. We're on a tight schedule."

After some coaxing and Yu Sinuo's own reassurance, Liu Erlong reluctantly mounted. Finally, Mu Chen turned to Hu Liena.

"What about you? Not interested in riding a dragon?" he teased.

---

Hu Liena remained silent, her pride preventing her from answering. But as Mu Chen extended his hand, she found herself reaching out, unable to resist the temptation.

Instead of simply pulling her up, Mu Chen wrapped his arm around her waist, lifting her effortlessly.

"You—" Hu Liena gasped, her cheeks flushing red. She had only wanted help, not… this.

Mu Chen paid her no mind, settling her atop the dragon's back before taking his place next to Xiao Wu and Liu Erlong. Casually, he draped an arm around their waists, ignoring Hu Liena entirely.

---

Hu Liena sat stiffly, staring at his back. A whirlwind of emotions churned inside her. She had initially been furious at his audacity, but as his arm released her so quickly, an unexpected pang of disappointment struck her.

"What's wrong with me?" she wondered, her heart racing. "Could I… like him?"

The mere thought sent a jolt through her. She quickly shook her head, trying to dismiss the idea.

"No," she told herself firmly. "I don't like him. I just want to defeat him. That's all."

Despite her protests, Hu Liena could

n't tear her gaze away from Mu Chen's figure. Deep inside, doubt lingered, refusing to be silenced.
