Dragona's Awakening: MMORPG System

Chapter 14: Presentations

After the presentation Ryuichi headed to his first class, as he entered the room and sat down the teacher walked in and started the presentation.

"Welcome to your geography class, everyone! My name is Elderyn," the teacher began, her voice calm yet commanding. She was an imposing figure, a Druidien Elf from the mystical lands of Druidieen. Her long, flowing robes were embroidered with intricate symbols of nature, and the air around her seemed to hum with the energy of the forest. "I also teach alchemy for those of you who are apprentice alchemists wishing to follow the artisan's path, today is your first day, I hope everyone is doing well and that you are not too overwhelmed and stress, pleas do not be worried, no one will be forced into a raid, your path is your choice. Now, I would like to start by the introductions. Please, introduce yourselves."

She pointed at the first student, who stood up promptly. "My name is Eldma," she said, her voice soft yet filled with purpose. "I am a human priestess. Blessings to you all. I am the seed of Jerrimaya, one of the main healers in the third top raiding team of the guild. I am here to represent the grace of God and protect our warriors through the perilous fights we engage in against the forces of evil."

"Thank you, Eldma. Nice to meet you," Elderyn replied with a nod of approval. "Next?"

A burly student stood up next, his voice gruff. "My name is StugMeat. I'm the child of an elven warlock and a human mage, both part of Rising Tides of War, an allied guild. I got this place through hard work and dedication, and I plan to start raiding to fight the demonic forces plaguing our world."

"Very Well, StugMeat. I'm sure you'll do great!" Elderyn said with encouragement.

As the introductions continued, Elderyn reached Niyane. "Your turn."

Niyane stood up, her white hair gleaming under the classroom lights. "Hi, my name is Niyane Inivolve. My father is Elden Inivolve. I'm here to train and fight. My dream is to cleanse the world of evil."

At her words, a ripple of whispers spread through the room.

"Did she say Elden Inivolve?"

"That's his daughter? Wow..."

"No wonder she's so beautiful..."

Elderyn raised her hand to silence the room. "Enough, everyone. Please calm down. Thank you, Niyane. We are honored to welcome your family once again to our school! Blessings to your father, the Great Archmage!"

Finally, it was Ryuichi's turn. He stood up, his gaze unwavering. "Hi, my name is Ryuichi Kurogan. Son of Lougi Kurogan and Marie Kurogan. My parents died in a raid. I am here to follow their step and become a raider."

A cold silence filled the room.

"Kurogan? The famous thief? That's his son—the one who stole from the Ice Citadel?"

"Looks like it..."

Elderyn, sensing the tension, stepped in quickly. "Be quiet, everyone pleas!", "Nice to meet you, Ryuichi. We are glad to have you walking in your father's footsteps."

As Ryuichi sat down, he felt a swirl of confusion at the whispers he had overheard. "Stole from the Ice Citadel? What was that about?" He had never heard of such a thing.

Just as Ryuichi was about to respond, the teacher, Elderyn, continued "Ok, before I start, I wanted to say; there is many known and important people in this school, No stocking people! No asking personnel questions! And especially, No speaking with journalist! or you will be severely punished, has everyone understood?". The whole class then said "Yes Mam", "Today, we will learn about Noviak's history and the geography around it. As I hope you all know, Noviak is situated in the Deistopaid territory, which is a vast tundra filled with both wonder and danger..."

After two hours of geography and history, the bell rang for the first break. Students began to line up at the teacher's desk, handing over their school entry gifts to the guild—small tokens of respect from their families as a tradition.

"Thank you, Niranda, these Dragon Fairy Heart Flowers are beautiful. They will be very useful for my alchemy," Elderyn said, smiling warmly at a student.

"Thank you, Niyane, I really appreciate these frost stones from the north pole. Be sure to send my thanks to your father" Elderyn said as Niyane handed over her offering.

When it was Ryuichi's turn, Elderyn looked at the massive Cobra King skull he materialized by here. "Oh my... is that a Cobra King Skull? Thank you very much, Ryuichi. May I ask how you came to acquire it?"

Ryuichi froze, unsure what to say.

"Just tell her you acquired it threw quests for the town. That it is useless to you, but it would be valuable to the guild." the spirit said.

Ryuichi cleared his throat, trying to sound composed. "I worked really hard to get here. I acquired it through multiple jobs and some... unique challenges. I didn't want to sell it due to its rarity—it only drops from one boss at a 5% drop rate. I thought it would be better invested in the guild, seeing as I have no use for it."

Elderyn raised an eyebrow, impressed. "Well, thank you, Ryuichi. Definitely these sorts of material can be compensated by the guild, you should bring them to us, as it will be best used. The guild will certainly benefit from such a rare item, this skull is actually a requirement for the dark fairy realm potion, which is needed to enter the Abyss, a place you will learn about in your future courses, with the current farm rate, The guild can only get three a year if we are lucky, either the Cobra King was already looted or the skull dematerialize with him, that is 52 tries a year only, the guild thanks you very much."

As Ryuichi left the class and started walking down the hallway, still thinking about the multiple mobs and their anatomy he had learned in class, he heard footsteps approaching fast behind him. It was Nathan. Nathan, believed his strength as a tank far surpassed that of a simple thief who grew up on the streets and decided to make a show of dominance. He turned back and started walking toward Ryuichi, pretending to chat with someone behind him.

"Alright TyTBuzz, see you tonight!" Nathan said loudly, turning just in time to bump into Ryuichi. But to Nathan's utter surprise, his 6'4", 230-pound frame fell to the floor with a loud thud as he had hit the locker beside him, while Ryuichi was now standing by him.

Whispers immediately filled the hallway.

"I'd stop messing around with a Kurogan if I were him..."

"That idiot can't even watch where he's going. What a joke..."

"This tank is so stupid he walked into a locker and fell on his ass! hahahahaha"

Laughter and mocking stares followed Nathan as he scrambled to get up, his face flushed red with embarrassment. The whispers, the laughter—it was a public humiliation. He glared up at Ryuichi, anger boiling in his veins.

Ryuichi met his glare with an icy stare, his eyes burning with a quiet, simmering rage. He remembered what he had being threw—the torment, the nightmares, the pain of being alone—and he channeled that intensity into his gaze. The stare was so cold, so piercing, that Nathan's bravado crumbled for a moment. He stammered, his confidence shaken.

Ryuichi took a step closer, towering over the fallen warrior. His voice was calm but filled with venom. "Stop fucking looking for trouble, man. Ever heard it's a bad idea to piss off a rogue? Or does that not get through your thick skull?"

Nathan, clearly destabilized, scrambled to his feet. His face twisted in anger, but the fear in his eyes was unmistakable. "You don't scare me... you're dead, your done, you don't fuck with me man!" he spat, backing away and fleeing down the hallway.

As the commotion died down, the shaman whom he had meet at the admission office walked up to Ryuichi, his eyes glinting with amusement. He walk with a robe glowing in nature symbols and a hammer which seemed to control the elements. "Hey, Ryuichi! MorTyous, remember me, we met at the admission office" His expression turned more serious as he leaned in closer. "That guy, Nathan... his family, they're gangsters. Word is, they've been accused of helping the Demonic Prince, playing both sides for gold. It's rumored they didn't get rich from raiding—they got rich selling people's information to the enemy, there are investigations into death, a lot of them."

"Thanks for telling me I will be careful" he said

"So how has life being treating you, how's school"

"I like it, really nice, I cant wait to start my rogue class, all the useless shit they teach you, it's incredible."

"Yes, to be honest, you don't need to pass 10 exam on every mobs in Dragona, you end up forgetting anyway so, I would not even be able to pass the exam I passed three months ago... You usually just look up some raid info before you do something."

"Right..." said Ryuichi.

"Well it was nice meeting you again, I got to go to class. so see ya later"

"Yea, see ya later!" Ryuichi said thinking about what he had just hear, being a rogue who had lived in the street sense he was twelve it was not the first time people in the cartels had wanted his skin, for a lot worst then this shit, like the thief he murder in the street a couple months ago. He decided that he really had nothing to worries about. Its not like he would be aimed at because of a gangsters son who is a bully in school... this thought made him crack up laughing, he could probably latterly beat him up and with the position he was at, in this school, nothing serious would happen, unless he badly hurt him.

After a long day of teaching and training, Ryuichi walked to his room, feeling the weight of exhaustion in his bones. He lay down on his bed, pulling out a Memory Stone and placing it on his forehead. The stone glowed faintly as it captured the day's teachings and events, ensuring he wouldn't forget anything. Even with magic, sometimes things could slip, and he wanted to make sure every lesson stuck.

Finally, he took a moment to check his states. He had already increased his agility by 3 points from training and according to his experience bar he was about to gain a level.

"Nice," he muttered, sitting up on the bed.

He could feel the change. His muscles felt lighter, his movements more precise. Something about it felt... off. He frowned, a nagging thought crawling into his mind.

Experience was always gained in balance with training and physical improvement. Strength training equaled experience, and from there, levels increased. But lately, it felt different. The spirit which was with in him was obviously accelerating his growth. One point would of being normal for a starter, you always gained a lot of point very fast from the basic but 3 was a lot.

Ryuichi sat scanning his books, flipping through the pages while watching the raiding technique videos that had been sent to him earlier. His mind, however, kept wandering to Niyane. Without overthinking it, he decided to send her a quick message, inviting her to communicate.

A notification pinged soon after, Niyane replied, accepting the invite. Her voice message came through, cheerful as ever. "Hey! I was hoping you'd message me. What's up?" Her sweet, clear voice instantly brought a smile to Ryuichi's face.

"Hey," he replied, trying to sound casual despite the flutter in his chest. "I was looking at the map and the raiding techniques for tomorrow, wanna to team up? We could practice some mage-rogue techniques together."

"Yea, sure!" Niyane said with enthusiasm. "I'd love that."

"Holy Fuck!" "She said Yes!" He thought, his heart pounding.

"hahahaha!" the spirit started laughing in him from with in.

"Shut up!" he thought inwardly.

"I'm exhausted," she added with a laugh. "Had to deal with class all day, and then I had to go to an honorary presentation with my father. It completely drained me."

"Really? How did that go?" Ryuichi asked, curious.

"The usual," Niyane sighed. "My dad being an Elden, I get asked about stuff all the time, offered positions, and I have to keep up manners constantly. It is tiring."

"I can imagine," Ryuichi replied, nodding. "That must get really annoying, especially if you don't even know most of those people."

"Oh, definitely," Niyane chuckled. "I swear, I've become a professional rejector by now!" Her laugh was light, and Ryuichi found himself grinning at her words.

"Ha Ha, yea I understand that must be annoying" Ryuichi said, laughing along.

"Yea!" she said. "But seriously, when I'm not busy, I like to relaxes"

"What do you do to relax?" asked Ryuichi, chuckling a bit, trying to keep the conversation.

Niyane's voice turned playful, and with a hint of mischief, she said, "I go out at night and fight creatures way stronger than me. No gear, totally naked. Just me, fighting to the death in some deserted, lost place."

"Well..." Ryuichi was stunned into silence, his thoughts running wild as he tried to process what she had just said. The image of her fighting like that was something he would want to see, and he found himself struggling to respond.

The silence stretched as his mind raced, and Niyane seemed to enjoy his flustered state.

"I'm going to have to go," she said suddenly in a teasing way, with a playful laugh. "Sorry, hope to see you soon again. Goodbye!"

Before Ryuichi could recover enough to respond, she was gone, leaving him standing there, his mind still spinning.
